Dude. I have never had an easier time finding a doctor. Ever.
I bookmarked Continuum when I decided to move to NY. And as luck would have it, the doctors are part of my benefits (Oxford United Healthcare).
Dr. Chaudhary & Dr. Hartzog are, as everyone says, fantastic. Both of them took the time to really talk and listen to me. They each let me know which vitamins I should be taking and offered tips and info that produce a greater sense of well being. Imagine that! I also received a follow up email regarding any test results (from each dr). Plus, they both were on time! I absolutely HATE waiting forever for doc appts.
The space itself is very clean and chill. It's nice to not sit in a sterile waiting room. The office is located in Flatiron so it's pretty easy to get to. Even the doorman in the lobby was friendly and chatty.
I suppose the best judge of a doctor is whether they help when you need it most. Unfortunately, Continuum has failed me in this regard twice now. The first time was when I needed some travel vaccines before going on a trip to Panama. Despite calling a month out they could not fit me in before the 2-week pre-trip cut off (for typhoid pills etc you need a buffer before arrival). I then called NY Physicians and they were able to schedule me in the next day for a consultation.
Fast forward to today. I've been sick with an endless cold/sinus infection that's lasted two weeks and has gotten so bad I need antibiotics or the like ASAP. I've left 4 messages, 3 at the emergency triage nurse number. They opened at 8:30am and it's now 11am. No call back. Each time I call, they transfer me to voicemail. I could have swine flu people...and not only can I not make an appointment, I can't even speak to a human being. I'm done with Continuum and it's time to shop for a doctor's office that actually treats patients in need rather than just those that can wait 4 weeks for an appointment.
UPDATE: They will not see me. No doctors or nurses are available despite it being an emergency (their words). They gave me the number for a clinic down the street. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I have to knock Continuum down a star. I called a week ago incredibly sick with the flu and H1N1-like symptoms which I had experienced for close to a week. Left a VM; then another VM and then called again to only get the machine, well, again.
Not only did my calls never get answered by a human being, but Continuum never called me back. I'm a patient person, but that's just not cool, especially for how sick I was.
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because my other experiences have been fab, but the saying goes, you know who your true friends when you need them most - and Continuum proved they were not as reliable as they originally seemed.

I've been relatively lucky in life that I grew up with pretty stellar health care facilities.… Read more »
Right next to a great museum. Makes you want to relax in more ways than one!
I've held off writing this review because I wanted to have long enough an experience before exclaiming, "Yes, thank you! There is hope for Western medicine after all!" I've been going to Continuum for nearly two years and I've had nothing but great experience; including after-hours prescriptions, referral to specialists, and emergency appointments. All that, plus I can finally make it to a doctor's appointment without my mom. This is as good as it gets for me.
See, I'm extremely squeamish around bodily secretions, especially blood, and I tend to pass out if poked too heavily with a needle or any other sharp instrument. The staff at Continuum is attentive, sensitive and professional; all I can ask from a medical facility.
I am particularly in awe of Continuum's holistic approach to medicine. As much as I hate throwing words like "holistic" and "eclectic", the practice at Continuum truly exemplifies the real meaning of these words. My doctor, Dr. Chaudhary, avoids over-prescribing and routinely refers me to OTC solutions in addition to vitamin/mineral supplements. She is extremely easy-going when it comes to medical problems, and I do tend to go all hypochondriac at the slightest perception of anomaly.
I'd also like to comment on how serene and pleasant the waiting room is. Huge windows draped with white raw cotton curtains, greens and oranges on rugs and the sofas, a library mostly filled with parenting literature, computers and a water fountain; waiting for an appointment is a breeze.
I believe Dr. Hops (sp?) is a renowned pediatrician and I hear people raving about her constantly in the waiting room. What I like to do is to sit on the huge couches where the kids' play area is, watch families interact, kids laugh, observe the Nazi and the laissez-faire moms talk about S-4211, the latest MacLaren stroller built for racing and extreme sports, and bond over breastfeeding and diapers. People-watching at its best, not for judgmental reasons but for appreciating the diversity of this great city.
I love this place. Dr. Hartzog is so sweet and approachable. Dr. Lee is very helpful and responds to email promptly, but she is a little abrupt. The acupuncturist I tried here was great as well, although I don't like acupuncture in general. They take most insurance plans and the waiting area is beautiful. I had a little trouble with one of the nurses torturing me with needles during some tests (I have tricky veins) but another nurse, who has very long hair, came over and saved me.
It's great to be able to visit competent medical doctors who see the value in some forms of alternative treatment. They won't over-prescribe medication but will definitely prescribe when warranted. Once I was diagnosed with a few vitamin deficiencies and started some supplements I did have more energy. That being said, they will probably suggest more vitamins and supplements than you can afford or swallow.
I have been seeing Dr. Chaudhary for about a year, and just saw Dr. Hartzog (for gyn) for the first time today. Both are extremely thorough, kind, and take plenty of time to ensure all your questions are answered.
Dr. Chaudhary gave me great alternatives (nutrition/supplements) and long-term solutions, rather than jamming drugs down my gob. I'm finally seeing results to a problem I've been having since high school...with no drugs, or the side effects that come with them.
The wait time is minimal, the staff is lovely, the decor beautiful, and the atmosphere is relaxing. It's just wonderful. AND they take Oxford. I can't speak highly enough of this practice.
TMI, for the ladies: I barely even had time to notice Dr. Hartzog was down there, and she was done! Sooo fast and gentle. It was the most pleasant gyn visit of my life.
The Continuum Center for Health & Healing reminds me of home. And by home I mean the San Francisco Bay Area. Seriously, I walk into Continuum and I am instantly transported to the West Coast, where people are kinder, gentler and tend to take their time. This place is far more like a spa than a doctor's office. The waiting room is bathed in natural light but if your visits are anything like mine you won't spend more than a minute or two waiting.
All of the employees, from the phlebotomist to the receptionists to the physicians wear street clothes. This is welcome news if you, like me, suffer from mild white coat hypertension.
My first appointment was at 10:30 and I was back at my desk by 11:04. Dr. Emily Hartzog took her time, listened to my concerns and explained what she was doing before she did it (I can't tell you how much I appreciate this.) Dr. Hartzog has a terrific manner and if you're looking for a gynecologist I would recommend her highly.
My next appointment was with Dr. Sapna Chaudhary. Like Dr. Hartzog she was incredibly thorough, stopping to answer my questions and asking many of her own. Her suggestions were thoughtful and I'll be stopping to pick up some acidophilus on her recommendation (she even printed it out for me so I could remember the dosage and brand) before I catch my flight to London tonight.
I'm pretty terrified of needles so when it came time for me to get the blood work that Dr. Chaudhary ordered, I was glad it only required me walking a few steps down the hall (any further and I might've made a run for it!) The man who took my blood was sensitive to my fears, though in the end his competence ensured I didn't have to deal with much pain.
Back in San Francisco I was fortunate to have two wonderful doctors. Thanks to the Continuum Center for Health & Healing, I think that's going to be the case here in New York too!
I just saw Dr. Emily Hartzog for gynocological purposes, and she was awesome. She was extremely nice, gentle, friendly and let me ask as
many questions as I liked. I didn't feel rushed, and she gave me several options on contraceptives since I asked her about it. I was nervous about seeing a new gyno, but there was no need. I'm extremely happy with her and am glad I read the previous yelp reviews and was steered correctly. Thanks all!
I LOVE The Center for Health and Healing! Dr. Sezelle Gereau-Haddon has changed my life through her integrative approach. My diet, overall health, and peace of mind have improved because of her presence, care, and positive spirit. Dr. Gereau-Haddon's recommendations for nutritional supplements, acupuncture, yoga, and aromatherapy have helped me keep my chronic sinusitis and allergies in check. Dr. Gereau-Haddon is on your side and wants you to thrive. I look forward to seeing her and always feel amazing and empowered when I leave. Dr. Gereau-Haddon's thorough and hands-on approach is unmatched. I wish every doctor was like her-- we would have a much healthier country and world.
I read all the Yelp reviews and went to Continuum Center for Health and Healing and I have to say I was IMPRESSED!!! Everyone was super nice, friendly, and professional.
I saw Dr. Chaudhary - who was awesome. I could tell she genuinely cared and she wrote out all the things she wants me to take (gave me natural options as well as prescriptions for drugs) so that I could try both options and figure out what works best for me. Which is great, cause sometimes I forget stuff when I go home. In addition, less than a week after I saw her, she emailed me with my blood results and had recommendations for me (my vitamin D level was low and so she recommended taking some pills or see sunlight for 10-15 min a day...yea, I know i'm pretty pale).
Anyways, my experience there makes me look forward to going to the doctor again!
Oh, only drawback is that it takes a long time to reserve an appointment : / but it's definitely worth it!: ]
So glad my insurance is accepted here. I see Dr. Pamela Hops. Cool, thorough doctor!
Dr Chaudhary has been great when I've had to call off-hours, too.
Great place.
I never imagined I'd be so filled with happiness by a doctor's office that I'd have to tell the world, but that's just how magical this place is. I actually went here because of the reviews on yelp, and I want to add another vote to the "Dr. Chaudhary is awesome" thread. She's completely knowledgeable and personable and totally accessible by email, which is so convenient it's almost confusing.
It's rare to find a medical office in New York that doesn't look like someone's late-1950's vision of how to make a cramped closet sort of resemble a clinic, so this joint seriously knocks one out of the park for being well-designed and comfortable. More than that, they seem to actually value the patient's time here - I have never waited for longer than 5-10 minutes, even when I arrive early for an appointment.
I love this place. I wish all my specialists were here.
This place is amazing! I'm surprised it hasn't received any positive reviews yet.. hopefully this will be the first of many. In spite of it's new age name - the continuum center for healing is a full service doctors practice with resident OB-GYN, acupuncture, chiropractor, mind-body therapy, lab for blood draws etc. etc,. It is by far the nicest waiting room I have ever been in.. it's like something from a furniture design shop.. and it does feel like the right place to be for health and healing..
The consulting rooms and blood draw stations are more run of the mill, the doctors are very professional and friendly.. I highly recommend Dr. Macco (OB-GYN) and Dr. Choudhary (General Medicine) both are very professional and helpful. My only minor criticism is that the receptionists were not very nice - a little snappy and unfriendly... but the surgery itself is amazing..
I can't believe I actually go to *the* Robert Gotlin, of Dr Rob fame! You know, the Dr. Rob from "Dr. Rob Says...Sports Health and Fitness Show" on 1050 ESPN Radio from 7am to 8am every Saturday? No? Never heard of it?
Anyway, he specializes in knee, wrist, and neck problemos which is perfection for me. He works quickly, so that he can fit in regular patients between basketball stars (he actually does work with them, I'm not being sarcastic). But he knows what he's doing, and he's thorough, and his office is cute. It reminds me of a tiki hut.
Oh my god I totally got his autograph on my prescription!
I love this place because it is nearly a block from my work and it has everything in one place.
The doctor that I see is Dr. Sapna Chaudhary, DO (Integrative Family Medicine)-she's cool because she recommends a lot of organic treatments rather than just dosing me up with Western medicine that can do more harm than good.
I want to try other doctors at this facility but unfortunately some doctors have a 2-month wait list.
Poor Poor Me!
So I was looking for a new PCP and came upon the Continuum Center for Health and Healing. My PCP appointment is not for another 3 weeks but I was able to score a (gyno) appointment with Emily Hartzog. She was wonderful and I would recommend her. Emily was extremely thorough and took her time to get to know me!
This place is amazing and all-inclusive. You can basically find any doctor you need to here. But do beware that not all accept the same insurance carrier. So if you go to one doctor who is in-network and he refers you to another doctor within the center, that other doctor might not be in-network. Be sure to ask before you accept any services....
Other than that, they are professional and knowledgeable. I was referred to a physical therapist at this center after seeing my knee doctor here. Well worth the time, effort and $$$ so far. And this place is also affiliated with Beth Israel Hospital, which is good.
This place is awesome. Finally, it's not a nightmare to go to the doctors. It's fairly easy to get an appointment, my appointments are always on time- no waiting for hours! And even if I had to, the waiting room is so nice that I wouldn't mind. It's sunny, airy, and spacious.
Dr. Chaudhary is an excellent doctor. She actually listens, unlike any other doctor I've been to. The great thing about this place is that they print you up recommendations and information on treatments or conditions. One of the major pitfalls of western med in this country is that there is a lack of communication and retention of info during a doctor's visit. This nicely takes care of that. You can go home and read your recommendations over and over.
I am very surprised that this place is not busier than it is. Perhaps they are actually just very well organized and staffed than any other doctor's office around. It's very, very refreshing!
This is an excellent facility with superior services and staff. It is well appointed, comfortable and a very peaceful place to be. The waiting room is comfortable, but don't plan on sitting there for long as there is never a wait. Patients are tended to quickly and are never rushed. My doctor comes to the waiting room for me, remembers things about me and has clearly prepped for the appointment. The care is exceptional. I feel very comfortable with the medical staff. My doctor always gives me time, I walk away feeling heard. I feel I am getting the best care available.
The holistic, integrative approach is both welcome and effective. The mission is fantastic, and they adhere to their goals. They treat people as whole individual people which is a refreshing approach. The care is truly patient-centered.
The staff is professional, friendly and courteous. Every person I have encountered in all the time my family has gone to the Continuum Center has been an absolute pleasure. There are a wide variety of services offered, and it is fantastic to have so much quality service in one place. The range is wonderful.
I highly recommend the Continuum Center for Health & Healing.
I needed a "different" kind of doctor. One who believes in integrative medicine, doesn't rush you, cares, and listens to you. I always wanted to try the Center but didn't have a clue as which doctor to see.
Enter Yelp and all the terrific comments on Dr. Chaudhary. I can only agree. My appointment was exactly on time. I wasn't deposited in another waiting room, told to put on a gown and wait. I was ushered directly in with the doctor where I spent one hour answering her very thorough questions. One hour. Unheard of. And she was kind and gentle with her exam. And today she personally called with the results of my blood tests.
The staff is all very personable and wear street clothes. No whites. I am a wreck when I visit the doctor but I felt at ease almost immediately. I am hooked. I only wish my insurance was accepted. But it's worth it. I'm going to try to get my husband to go also.
I recommend the Center and Dr. Chaudhary highly.
I see Dr. Lee here. Facilities are really nice and Dr. Lee is really nice. They have a system like herding sheep but I guess so much is to be expected at any dr's office in the city.
Such a wonderful place -- calming, nice, efficient, just what you need when you're feeling sick. I see Dr. Ehrlich and he's fantastic. They often opt for the more lo-tech, holistic treatment that actually works, rather than a bunch of pills -- i.e. I came in with sinus problems and rather than prescribe a bunch of inhalers and antibiotics, Dr. Ehrlich advised me to use a neti pot, which completely solved my problem. And they take United Healthcare!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Besides the warm and welcoming interior and waiting area which feel less like a doctor's office and more like a living room, the quality of care is beyond what I've ever received. My doctors there actually EMAIL ME! I've never even heard of that happening before. Although they offer acupuncture and other non-western services, there is nothing flaky about it. The doctors and staff have gone out of their way to help me, and I am truly thankful for having found the Continuum Center.
