What's more convenient than getting a massage during your lunch hour or a quick adjustment by Dr. Gene?
Their staff is quite nice and helpful, everything you expect and they give you so much more. I highly recommend this place for a quick adjustment or a massage!
My inner chi has been very unbalanced lately. I hate walking around like i have the world on my shoulders, it weighs heavy and sucks the energy right out of me. My mother has recommended acupuncture for me, as she partakes herself. Ive done it a couple times in the past, but have since substituted it with yoga, pilates, etc. Dont get me wrong, yoga helps to a certain extent, but i needed a little extra help.
On a quest to get my chi aligned again, i did a search for an acupuncturist close to work so that i could attend sessions in the middle of the day. After reading raving reviews, i decided to give Conscious Chiropractic & Acupuncture a try. Boy am i glad all the praises were legit. Michelle was an angel. She made me completely comfortable from the moment i met her and really took the time to get to know me and what my daily life routine is like. I had a 30 minute session and left feeling much more relaxed and lighter stress wise. And the pain i carry in my shoulders seemed to lessen. It was just what i needed. After a few more sessions, im confident my chi will be much more balanced.
The center itself is peaceful and serene. Prices arent exactly cheap, but its worth every penny considering how well they know their stuff. Im looking forward to more visits in the future with Michelle.
I cannot recommend Dr. Plotkin enough. I have had serious lower back pain for several years and have been to a half dozen chiropractors in this city. When I became pregnant in 2008, I feared I would be crippled with lower back pain and wanted to do whatever I could to manage my back pain throughout my pregnancy.
A friend of mine who had seen Dr. Plotkin throughout her pregnancy recommended him to me. I began seeing him when I was about 5 months pregnant and saw him about once a week throughout the rest of my pregnancy, then for about 2 months afterwards. Thanks to his adjustments, I was pain-free for my entire pregnancy and never experienced one day of discomfort. When I experienced back pain post-childbirth, Dr. Plotkin was instrumental in treating my pain and getting me back on my feet quickly so I could return to work. He is well-versed in a variety of techniques and is extremely professional. I would definitely recommend him to anyone I know - pregnant or not.
Sufian is pure magic. His massage is the best I've ever had.
Michelle Graves is a nurturing and warm doctor of acupuncture. My quality of life improved 10fold after discovering acupuncture for pain management. Now I use it for immune system support, hormone balancing, and nicotine addiction too!
Dr. Reyzelman is my kind of chiropractor. I looked long and hard for someone like her! She does not try to sell you a bunch of crap you don't need. She just fixes you.
I seem to be only reviewing businesses that make me feel warm and fuzzy these days, and Conscious Chiropractic is no exception. I have been seeing Dr. Schick (sp?) and Dr. Victoria for a few months now, and have noticed a marked improvement in a painful sports injury I acquired a number of year back. I had never been to a Chiropractor before coming here, and have been nothing but pleased with the results. I am in much less pain, I have a better gait, and I get a perverse sense of satisfaction hearing my joints crack during treatment. All good things.
I love the ambiance of this place, with dimmed lighting, soft music, and very kind front desk staff. It does not have the clinical feel of a doctor's office, which can be rather off putting to some. Conscious Chiropractic's space gives the impression of health, well-being, and relaxation; all the things I need when I come in frantic during my lunch hour.
I feel obligated to add my voice to those who've already raved about Conscious Chiropractic. I have several severe and chronic problems. I have 3 herniated discs in my neck that started with a bad fall 10 years ago, and have since been aggravated by a car accident last year and (not joking here) a train crash 3 years ago: I was on an Amtrak train going nearly 70mph that slammed into an industrial dumptruck stuck on the tracks. Suffice it to say I've voided the warranty on my neck. I also have an L4/5 disc that's gradually wearing down.
My neck has been in such bad shape the last couple of years that I had to find some real relief, and after reading reviews here I made an appointment with Dr. Sheck (sp?). I was impressed with several things: the attitude and general atmosphere in the clinic among all the staff, Dr. Sheck's very genuine concern and gentle, but through, approach, and most of all she is NOT one of those chiropractors who tries to convince you that you need to come in every week for probably the rest of your life and then guilt you into it if your'e at all resistant to that.
I have now been in about half a dozen times and my neck is already noticeably better. I have much more range of motion and a lot less pain. Her approach to adjustments is also a lot gentler than I'm used to. Providers I've seen before have made their adjustments feel like they were trying to twist my head off. Adjusting the neck, I'm told, can be a fairly high-risk activity, but I feel quite safe in her hands. She is also very supportive of the weekly traditional Thai massage I get at La Biang on Polk St., which I've also reviewed. Between the two I think I'm going to be in quite good shape in short order.
Serene atmosphere, Conscious Chiro is a fantastic all-in-one! I've not done acupuncture there but adjustments (Dr. Victoria R) and massages were amazing. I highly recommend this place, esp as a go-to, middle of work week perk if you work in Fi-Di.
This was my first time experience with a Chiropractor. I was really scared to go. But I hurt my neck bad enough that I could barely move. So, I read reviews and would only go to one that had a five star rating because this is my spine we're talking about!
I saw Dr. Schick. She was wonderful. She was not oovy-groovy. But not stiff and Dr. like either. She found the pain in my neck and shoulders with out my having to even tell her where it was. And very gently did some realigning. The next week I was so much better that I was going to tell her I was comfortable with not coming back for a third session and she said it first! She did not pressure me into coming back over and over. It seems that she sincerely wants her patients to recover and then take it into their own hands with proper sleep habits and exercise. How refreshing!
And as far as I can tell their prices are better than most places.
I highly recommend these folks!

Dr. Schick is a super sweet lady and very gentle. the front desk is very nice and helpful, the message is great, i wish i could try the accrupucture some day.
I've been coming here since last year based on Serena's review and it was probably my most valuable Yelp find yet.
I've had neck and back problems for years and been to a number of chiros. Dr. Victoria is the best one so far! Gentle adjustments, but solid enough to feel that I've been fixed.
Dr. Victoria says I'm very "in tune" with my body, which could be really mean hypochondriac. So brownie points for tact.
Convenient downtown location for working folk and easy to book an appointment. The receptionists are understanding when you have to reschedule b/c of last minute meetings. Be sure to see if your insurance covers their massage therapy, which you'll need to book waaaay in advance.
A few people from work come here too. Maybe this says something about the stress levels at my company. If HR is reading this, I'm just kidding...
Just found this place here on Yelp a couple weeks ago... I have already started to see the acupuncturist, Michelle, and the chiropractor... both are great. This is a very friendly office and they make it so easy to make an appointment.
From the beginning I knew I loved this place when I called to ask questions and the woman told me she'd call my insurance for me to check out my coverage. She very promptly returned my call and made my appointments.
First impressions were great.
I have been very satisfied with this office and just mad that I have lived here 5 years and just found it... especially since it is so close to my office.
I've been seeing Dr. Victoria and Dr Gene for around 2 1/2 years and they are both sensational. I'm a little partial to Gene because he goes for the home run ball with my neck and almost always knocks it over the wall! They both take the time to explain how the body functions, often referring to the skeletal props to demonstrate the cause and effect relationships of the human skeletal system and how everything interacts. Bottom line, they both know their stuff and are extremely adroit at their craft.
Michelle Graves would make as equally a good psychologist as she does an acupuncturist. She's so cool. Sweet, funny and genuine. She really knows how to listen and commiserate.
I'd be remiss without mentioning the friendly staff. Liz is professional (front desk), Natalie is so sweet and if I were 20 years younger, I'd ask Traci (office manager) to marry me.

Dr. Gene Plotkin, DC is the best chiropractor I've ever had! As a kid I was always getting hurt and once I fell out of a tree onto my head. Ever since then I have been in and out of chiropractic offices. So when I say Dr. Gene is the best, i'm kinda an expert on the matter.

I like that everyone who works here really makes you feel that your well-being is the focus. With the wonderful combination of services they offer (accupuncture, chiropractic, and massage), you could spend the whole day here!
I think the most important thing is communication, you need to be honest so that they can best address your health situation.
I've been seeing a chiropractor pretty much my whole life and Dr. Victoria Reyzelman and Dr. Gene Plotkin are both among the finest I've encountered, both extremely attentive and genuinely interested in helping find the proper treatment for what ails you. Jennifer and Sufian are two very gifted massage therapists working out of the office, which is a quiet oasis in the middle of the Financial District. The entire Conscious Chiropractic staff are professional, courteous and dedicated to providing stellar medical care.
Michelle Graves, Licensed Acupuncturist is the best. She's talented, incredibly supportive and down to earth. The office is very easy to work with - they check with your insurance to confirm benefits.
GREAT place! Acupuncture, chiropractic and massage all in one! I am potentially the most stressed out person you've ever met - to the point that it affects my health. At the beginning of the year, I made a decision to take care of myself, and deal with my tension headaches, stomach irritations and insomnia that have resulted from stress and anxiety. After just 2 weeks there, I can feel a difference in my body. I still have a ways to go, but the office is so soothing that its a pleasure to go to treatments. And hey - the weekly massage therapy that's covered by insurance doesn't hurt either!
Dr. Gene Plotkin is a great chiropractor. I go to him once a month and he has cured my headaches and backaches. The whole staff is very friendly and it is always easy to schedule appointments. I went to Michelle once for acupunture, and she was great as well.
I love Conscious Chiro! I see Victoria for my chiropractic needs and Michelle for accuptuncture. Both are TERRIFIC. I always leave refreshed and looking forward to my next appointment. Both Victoria and Michelle truly care about you and your well-being. The entire staff at Conscious Chiro is fabulous.
I thought all the people at the doctors office were really nice. The only thing I can point out that bothered me were the obvious mis-spellings. I look forward to going back and getting my massage therapy.
Also, I know they are supposed to do this, but I really liked the fact that they explained what is covered and what isn't on my insurance. As well as how much they will cover for the year.
Every now and then Yelp has failed me, but on this occasion I thought it did quite well.
I love this place. Michelle the acupuncturist is knowledgeable, funny and makes you feel very comfy. She is also a good listener, which is great b/c the reason I go here in the first place is b/c I am so stressed out. Gene, my chiropractor of choice, is just as awesome. He takes his time with you and explains what's going on with my out-of-whack/one leg longer than the other/one shoulder higher than the other body. I also appreciate the convenience of having acupuncture, chiropracty (is that a word?) and massage all in one place (although I can't vouch for the massage). How these people are able to pinpoint the sources of my pain through my bubbly flesh is beyond me. I've been going here for 3 months now, at least once a week, and I'm super happy with this place.
They are so great about squeezing me in quickly, or having to cancel or change appointments at the last minute. The whole staff is courteous and friendly. Its also nice that they have multiple doctors and multiple massage therapists, so its easier to get an appointment at a time that works for you.
Good place. I'd go back.
