Service is great. Good salads.
Ok. I come here because I know the salads are huge, crisp, and cold... and the bleu cheese dressing has big chunks of bleu cheese. I have to remember to tell them no beets, because they are crazy for the beets on top.
Other than that, food is hit and miss. I've had good breakfast, good pork chops, and a not so good California chicken last time. However, the server told them that I didn't enjoy his recommendation and they took it off the bill. I didn't expect that (since I was hungry and ate it anyway). I was really impressed with his pro-active customer service and friendliness. Tapioca dessert was included and topped with whipped cream. Mmm.
I walked away happy and ready to go back for something else. -

Somehow this has kind of become a go-to place for a quick-ish sit down lunch. It is just a block away from my office.
The weekday lunch scene is different than the late night party goer scene for sure. In the afternoon this becomes the area retired individuals and groups hang out spot.
The vibe itself is VERY "old diner" in a 70's kind of way.
Food itself is really hit or miss. I tend to get soup and salad which is okay, not amazing, but okay. I wouldn't go here unless I was looking for something 24 hour or after one of my random pangs of convenience.
Don't get the Monte Cristo fried, it's a soppy mess. Try the lentil soup with salad (replace the garlic bread with something else though).
Service is odd, I don't know how better to describe it. It has always just been odd. It's kind of like you have been transported into a small town with strange people. -

One of the only 24 hour places in Glendale.
You usually find drunk guys, or group of friends eating after a party or club. Its good for those late night cravings.
The servers are Super Slooooowwww. You can see yourself age by the time they take your order. It's almost cute.
The food isn't the best, but its not disgusting either. Just your average kinda food.
I've had their hot dogs, salads, wings, burger, chicken club (which I like a lot), zucchini sticks are the bomb. My sisters fiance swears on the Pan Fry Steak! Never had it, but heard lots of people talking about it. Maybe I'll try it next time and write an update.
If its past midnight, and you have no where to go, stop by... but if your looking for amazing food in middle of the day don't waste your time. -
Review from Schel H.
Wow... this place is a hot mess. This is one of those old diner style places that you can find a couple of hookers, drunks, and who knows what else as they are getting off work at 3am and need a bite to eat.
I simply got a basic martini and the waitress came back to ask three questions about it. Has anyone ever had a Martini on the rocks before? hahaha
Well I was here with a couple of friends and honestly very surprised about the whole process. I had a friend order the beef skewer kabob deal and he spent $12 and got 5 - 1 oz or less pieces of meat on a single skewer with a sm bowl of broccoli and a baked potato. They did include a house salad, cup of split pea or turkey noodle soup with it as well. However the portion was very small for the price.
My other friend got he belgian waffles with whip cream and fresh (canned if she wanted them) strawberrys. I imagine that most of the food is done from cans and not from scratch.
But this place had fail written all over it on multiple levels. I would likely come back for a cocktail again but I dont think I would eat here.
There were a lot of students studying and chilling. This makes sense to me but, this is at least 1-2 steps below a Denny's or IHOP.
So enjoy it if you go, and if you do, I wanna know how you did it... house of pies this place definitely is not.Listed in: Sobriety Free Zone

Glendale, CA
A group from our office eats at Conrads nearly once a week. It's got a huge menu, and some of it is reliably good, some of it not so much. The salads are great, and the fried chicken is decent and a really good value for a place that's a wee bit overpriced. A regular sandwich, like a turkey or a club or a grilled cheese, you're going to be ok. The mexican entrees are pretty bland. The tortilla soup isn't bad, but I'd pass on the other soups. I do like their gyro.
For breakfast, I like it a little better, but breakfast is harder to screw up. The only thing I would look out for is that they do tend to overcook the omelets to dark brown crust. So for eggs, I stick to scrambled soft or over easy, or just go with the pancakes. Serving sizes are generous, the servers are mostly great.
Full bar, open 24 hours, lots of parking, outdoor patio. It's got a lot to say for it as filling a necessary neighborhood diner niche. -
Review from Ara A.
Originally I was going with 3 stars because its just an 'a-ok' food spot, but I have so many great memories here and they keep on coming so I went with a 4th star.
If you live in Glendale and you've just gone out and gotten completely hammered, 8 out of 10 times you're going to end up at Conrads. The other 2 probably El Tap haha.
As far as food goes I've had things that I enjoy like the wings, steak wrap, chicken caesar salad, and breakfast items. The problem is I have never had these items sober, so I'm not sure exactly how good they are. I do remember having a couple bad experiences but for the most part the food always hits the spot when you are drunk.
Service has always been good honestly, they always have friendly people working and the waiters have always been very attentive.
Like I said, if you live in Glendale there is no way you havent been here at least once, but if you havent, stop on by. -

Our favorite american restaurant when we're in Glendale. Their menu has a great selection, but I only order minced ham since I can't find it too often. We like to sit in their booths, its a great comfort restaurant.

Your drunk. its 3 am. you just left a bar or hollywood. where else are you going to go? El Tap or Conrads. I love this place just because the very found memories I have here. Its amazing how the staff during graveyard puts up with so much shit..LOL but anyways the food here really is not bad at all. i love the food and breakfast, and the salads i enjoy them too.
Parking is going to be tough like i said if you come between 12am-3am cause its usually packed on the weekends. -

Oh Conrads, what can I say about Conrads....
I have been going here since before I could remember, actually, it's where my parent had their first kiss, when I was just a mere twinkle.
And it is because of half my church and people like my parents that keep this place open. I don't mind going so much, we sit over in the lounge and it's got a bit of a cozy feeling to it.
It's also where my old soul comes out, I like that it is quiet, I like the strong drinks, I like the simple salads (with beets and croutons). I like that every time the waiter see's my mom he says "brotisserie chicken?"
Yes, it is slightly overpriced, but it's Conrads...it has that warm fuzzy feeling and you will probably find me hunched over a salad with a margarita in 50 years.... -

Run.
The last two times I've tried to convince myself that Conrad is a great 24hr spot in Glendale. Then I realized it's the only 24hr diner in Glendale.
Seriously, this place gives me the heebie-jeebies. Their corn chowder is so oily that the soup doesn't stick to the spoon! It comes out of the chowder without a speck of soup on it because the oil creates this invisible barrier around the spoon.
At my last visit there was a brown sticky drop of grease in my "clean" teacup.
There's nothing worse than walking into a place where I get that vibe that nobody who works there gives a damn about what they do. The servers are inexperienced, I can't imagine management is particularly passionate about the food they serve.
Diners should probably be the better dining experience because of their passion for serving great food to regular people. I don't know what Conrad's is. I'm really afraid of getting sick there. -
Review from Fred B.
Hard to find a 24-hour place to eat in Glendale. Not counting fast food, this place is best for a late night snack or to hand out with friends; nowhere else to go at midnight.
Food is average at best. -

My mom totally loves this place, I just can't understand why. This is a traditional diner with very diner-ish food. I prefer Shakers across the street from this place any day....
I hadn't eaten here in a long while so I decided to give it a try with my mom again for lunch. The club sandwich was blah, not enough mayo or whatever it was, there was definitely something missing from the sandwich. Wheat bread, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, it still lacked. Huge sandwich though. I also opted to get the side salad with it instead of choosing two sides. The salad was probably the best part of my meal, it was huge....salad greens, beets (LOVE beets) and croutons. Had to have it topped with ranch dressing. Huge bummer that the salad was more watery than anything, I didn't finish it because of that reason.
I also had to take note of the cleanliness of this place. It was raining pretty hard outside, the patio was closed of course. I had to take note of the 6 or 7 birds that were poking and prodding the sugar shakers. I doubt that they'll sterilize it or replace it, in fact I'm sure all of those sugar shakers will probably go right back out on the tables. Ew.
I think I'll stick to this place for that once in a while lunch trip or a really hungry can't wait there's no food in the house 3 am trip. -

Ended up here really late on a Tuesday night. Very old school and the food was actually pretty bad, but if it's the only place nearby that's open 24 hrs I guess you can't really complain. The service was great tho- our server was this little old lady named Mable.
This actually makes me a little sad, because it makes me wonder if she still works because she has to pay for prescriptions that Medicare doesn't cover, or if her fixed income isn't enough to cover basic living expenses. Those were my thoughts as I scarfed down greasy onion rings. -

Look, please don't come to Conrad's expecting some sort of gastronomic experience. It's a diner. It has diner food. It means their menu is extensive with fantastically greasy food. If you come here and eat the filet mignon and complain how subpar it was, I'm going to laugh at you for ordering an expensive piece of meat at a diner. Don't.
I love this place and frequent it often (if you can't tell). Wednesdays and Fridays are my favorite because the soup of the day is Mexican Tortilla or Vegetable Tortilla - whatever - it's veggies (carrots, celery) + tortilla pieces + melty cheese. It's delicious. They have a yummy, greasy, melty grilled cheese and bacon that I've ordered. Also, for breakfast or dinner, whatever, the Conrad's omelette is fantastic - eggs, spinach, tomato and onions are awesome. We also do the Club House sandwich often. It's a nice shareable sandwich with the dinner salad (beets, no croutons, ranch on the side). It's just good, comfort food. May I recommend Cafe Beaujolais for the fancier palates?
Overall, this is a nice, comfortable place to meet with friends, sit and chat it out. It doesn't stink like most diners do. Just don't come in expecting Jose Andres to make your dinner and you'll be fine. -

Such a rundown piece of trash, but it's pretty rad.
Conrad's is open 24 hours and has all types of cuisine. You can't beat that. -
Review from Bernadette H.
Cerritos, CA
WOW......this place was sorely underwhelming for me.
The gyro I had a few hours ago had tasteless slices of some Spam-type meat (couldn't even taste any herbal goodness). The fruit was better than the actual meal...and that's REALLY sad. But, when you're mad hungry, your hunger overrides your sense of taste, even more so when you're sober...
Wayyyy overpriced, not tasty, not to mention I probably got an STD from breathing all that nasty cologne and air from the West Coast guidos...(trust me, I went to CSUN and I know ALL about it.)
Honestly, if I wanted to be charged $10 for a subpar gyro, I might as well just go to Du-Par's and get a cheeseburger and pie slice.
Or better yet, with that money I could just go to Denny's, because Conrad's food is just as terrible but extremely overpriced... -

I received the following response (via Yelp) from our waitress:
Well I will give you this...obviously you have never worked in customer service....Perhaps no one takes sympathy on all the shit the staff has to deal with at that place. Nor does it help when all the customers are cheap bastards. No one likes to feel like the aren't appreciated or taken care of given how much things cost these days...But you also may never know what the person is going through who might be serving you. Everyone has an off night and no one is perfect. I am sorry that you think I gave you shitty service Kristen....honestly shit happens. I would appreciate if you removed my name though since it isn't necessary to put people on blast. I would be more then happy to make it up to you but lets be honest...Conrads isn't the ritz and Graveyard isn't a walk in the park. Best wishes
Your Server
...This is pretty terrible. I'm wondering if I should contact the manager. My response:
Hi Tina,
Thanks for your response. I have actually worked quite a bit in customer service which is why it peeves to me to get terrible service. I know what it takes and I also know that it means leaving your problems at the door. I'm so sorry you have a less than satisfying job, but I'm not sure that's my (or any other customer's) fault. Customer service is paramount in the service industry and because you're the face of the company its your job to provide it with a smile no matter what kind of day you're having. I'm sympathetic to bad days, but if you had explained that, we would have understood. Instead, you treated us like a nuisance and made sure we'll never return. Perhaps customer service isn't your forte.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Montebello, CA
This joint conjures up memories for me. Any late nights that end in Glendale, usually take us straight here. The food isn't stellar by any means nor is the decor. But if your looking for a greasy bite or even in the mood to tuck into a huge salad... this is just the diner.
The service has always been excellent for me. Just make sure to ask for your check earlier than you intend to and know what you want when you sit down. Haha
The menu is vast... so I haven't tried everything, don't really intend to either. My advice, anytime I've ordered a wrap I've been disappointed... but anything finger food-y is decent (fries, onion rings, etc) and my boyfriend loves the chicken club sandwich...gets it every time. I also really like the cobb salad... it will literally feed you three times! I had some that night and then had it for breakfast and lunch the next day....yup, that happened lol
I'm a fan because, other than the fond memories and more memories to come, I love diners and establishments that serve breakfast and coffee 24/7... it's nostalgi-tast-ic. -

We ate here because it was right next to our hotel. After reading Yelp we weren't expecting much, but woooooow, what a crappy place. I got the corned beef sandwich and she got the 'beef dip'. Mine managed to be greasy yet somehow dry at the same time, hers was described as "cold beef between buttered cardboard". ...and then there's the pickle... it was a cucumber that had soaked up the bar juices and then left out for a week to dry. We believe the cottage cheese started out as milk but was also left out with the pickle.
All in all, I think next time we would be better off sticking to the hotel bar olives and limes. -

Glendale, CA
Not bad. The food is ok at best. I normally come here late night and the service is horrible 90 percent of the time. I went for breakfast once and my waitress was a sweetheart. Other than that, waiters here constantly look you over.
I loved eating at the patio because you can smoke but last time I was there, they relegated 3 tables outside to only be smoking only. Everybody knows people on the other side of the tape won't smell the smoke. -

If you're looking for a 24/7 restaurant that covers all of the basics, this is your place. I looked over and over the menu, and although nothing stood out and said, "TRY ME NOW," I would definitely go back.
I had the Waffle Combo for $7.95: eggs your way, and you get a choice of ham, sausage (maybe turkey sausage) or bacon. Whipped, sweet butter for the waffle and of course syrup.
My friend had the Fried 1/2 Chicken, and although they were out of baked potatoes, my friend said that the mashed taters were excellent. He wasn't a big fan of the coleslaw, but I liked it.
Dessert consisted of Sorbet Ice Cream for me, and my friend had a regular cappuccino. Both very good! -

Mable gave us the best service I've ever received from a CONRADS.
She was constantly coming back to our table to see if we needed anything else. She made our meals enjoyable. Management needs to give her a raise. -

Underperforms in ALL areas.
The service was friendly, yet inattentive. and when a complaint was raised, our server did not offer any resolution aside for 50 cents off the bill!
Food was bland and eggs were barely cooked and snotty.
It really was a shame, because I really wanted to like Conrad's. Oh well... plenty of other places in the area! -

Glendale, CA
THIS IS A 3 STAR FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:
- its a wonderful atmosphere with pretty lights on the outside, and a home feel on the inside. Its a casual diner, similar to a dennys or an IHOP, but with a more "mom n pop" run place. Inside, it looks a little rundown, but not necessarily in a bad way... I actually kinda like the way it looks!
- its open 24/7 and close to my place! so its a reliable place to go when its really late and I need a quick fix or a place to uncoil with some friends/family.
-Servers are wonderfully nice people.
...as for the food...
The food is okay.. not that great... a slight downgrade from youre typical Denny's Dinner.
BOTTOM LINE: I welcome this place when its 2AM and you just want to chill and eat. Dont come here on a regular dinner night... because... you might be disappointed... -

Much like Foxy's, I really wanted to like Conrads, but I should have known when the hostess didn't greet us at the door and just walked us to our table that this was going to be a less than satisfying experience. I'm glad I asked them to hold the cheese on my California chicken, because my bf's veal looked like it had a thick layer of animal blubber on the top of it. I thought it was veal parmesan; not veal with a slab of fat. Ok, so its diner food, but honestly the only way I could ever eat here is if I was on the hunt for after-clubbin food. Service was average...I think I may be a little generous here because our server seemed very disinterested and annoyed. Period? Break up? My stomach hurts as I'm writing this review. I'm regretting eating there.

This place is perfect for late-night after-clubbing munchies. It has typical diner food, the staff is fun to talk to, the food is decent.
I've gotten the hotcakes [pancakes] and their egg dishes here. They're both pretty good, nothing too crazy. I like the food better than Denny's.
My 4-stars is based on the location and convenience of such a late-night place. I would never go here just for a random lunch/dinner since there are better places open on central/brand at that time. -

Las Vegas, NV
Truth be told, ive never ate at Conrads before 2 am, so if that bothers you then you can see your way outta my review...
With that said, Conrads is the place to be for some late night after the bar/club grub. I always order a steak sandwhich and fries, but sometimes I'll get a little crazy and order some waffles and eggs, even though technically its not "morning time" yet (I have a slight case of OCD regarding time specific meals.... dont ask). The people who work here are cool, and the meals come out just about the time youre group is finishing up relaying their stories and incidents that happened that night. Hell, I've even (in a drunken stupor) ordered a round of water for everyone in the building (lemon included) to be immediately served and got no defiance from management. Now that's service people!
Most of my friends live in the Glendale area, so thats why we go here instead of just eating out in the hollywood/pasadena area. If you want a change up of the usual Dennys/Ihop late night eats, then I suggest you come here. And tellem Ski sent ya. -
Review from Jackie D.
Yelpers, this place is a staple in Glendale for late night grub and free entertainment by the crowds that come through its doors after midnight. This is the neighborhood diner that will always serve food the way it was served since the last time you came, nothing changes. Most of the servers have been there a very long time and well they become friendly faces you can count on. Their corn chowder is THE best. Their house salad with beets is a usual and we are convinced their ranch dressing is like no other. Their food is average but always hits the spot late night.
So when you come, dont expect gourmet. Its a diner. Ohhh and it has free wifi and a great patio. If you need to have a quick meeting or a conversation, you can come here too. -
Review from Shara D.
Los Angeles, CA
Great place, we always go here after practice on Tuesdays at around 11 and leave at around 1 AM. This place is also great with a lot of friends after a night of clubbing/partying, the service is a little to the slow side but that is simply because of how many people there are, last night I went at around 3 and its FULL I mean FULL inside and outside(it was freezing).
Decor is kinda cheesy, very old school home like.
Get the Caesar Wrap, it comes in a "Chipotle" style burrito, you know the fat ones, and in it is the Caesar salad with bit sized chickens, side of french fries and ranch all for around $10. Not a bad way to end the night. Get the service up and this will be a 5 star, I don't know why it has all these 1-3 stars, i guess it doesn't phase them they are busy as hell!
Oh and the Chocolate Sunday is great they put a bucket of hot fudge on it, whip creme and nuts(no homo) with a cherry on top. $4.95
Thanks For Reading -

I don't understand why anyone would want to go here to dine. Im not comparing this place to higher class restaurants or anything. What I am saying is that for the price you pay here, you can have better food at taco stands and truck stops. If you come here because they are open late, I would recommended you either go to kitchen 24 in Hollywood, or Fred 62 on Vermont Ave. which are both open 24 hours. PS. Conrad's has to be the worst place I have ever dined.

Anybody who gives this place five stars is mad!
This is where all the gangster-Armenians in Glendale like to gather to recreate their favorite scenes from 'Goodfellas' and 'Scarface'.
You'll feel gross after eating here; you would have been happier hungry, trust me. -

Los Angeles, CA
The worst dining experience I've ever had was at Conrad's. First it took them 10 minutes to acknowledge that we were in the deserted resturant, during peak dinner hours. Then the staff had a conversation for 2 minutes before seating us.
I ordered the pork chop, and my friend got the meat loaf. What we got was a half cooked pork chop breaded on one side that wasn't cooked properly so it kinda just sat on top, and two hamburger patties with ketchup on top (that was what they called meat loaf). Oh and there's was the pre-dinner butter and individually wrapped saltines.
I wasn't expecting fine dinning, but this place is run as though the management has never been to a restaurant. You should never leave dinner wondering where you're going to get food on your drive home. -
Review from Bruce K.
Studio City, CA
I had a little afternoon meeting with some folks, so one of them chose Conrad's as our meeting place. I'm always up for a new coffee shop experience. Well, this was one of the single worst meals I've ever eaten anywhere anytime. It made me want to vomit on the ground. I had a salad with ranch - the ranch was thick and gooey and didn't taste so good, but the salad was, at least, edible. I then had a Chicken Caesar wrap. It was quite nauseating, with soggy croutons and weird chicken and yucky Caesar dressing, all wrapped in whatever they wrap those things in (pita?) that also tasted yucky. For my side dish, I had the macaroni and cheese. I'd asked our waiter about the mac and cheese (more about him in a moment) and he'd said it was just cheese on macaroni noodles - he was correct - tasteless cheese on macaroni noodles - it made Kraft look like gourmet.
And our waiter. If you've ever seen the actor/comic Pedro Gonzales-Gonzales (who made his debut with Groucho on You Bet Your Life, then became a staple in John Wayne films from the 50s), you know exactly what our waiter was like. When I queried him about dishes he just shook his head and said, "I don't eat here - they make me pay."
To get the taste of the wrap out of my mouth, I had some rice custard pudding (I asked the waiter if it was good - he repeated his response above). It did get the taste of the wrap out of my mouth, but put a whole new taste in there - sickly sweet and weird.
Buh bye, Conrad's. It was fun while it lasted. -

I visit my mom in LA when I can, last time we ate here 3 or 4 times because I love it this much. I don't get why the reviews aren't better. Maybe it's the LA veggie hippiness coming out? Or the snobishness? I don't know. The Reuben there is one of the best I've ever had, and their omelette, the one with the avacado is to die for. So ignore the crappy reviews and give this place a try.
Just know that this place is a madhouse late at night after the bars close.
**Update** You guys are fucking snobby out here in the LA yelp. It's what it is, a 24 hour diner type joint. The food is solid.
Atmosphere? You guys are insane. Pull your heads out your asses.
