Mmmmm.
I've been going to Cone E. Island a lot recently. Must be the stress of school and impending finals, but something inside of me constantly craves cold, creamy deliciousness, and damn me if I'm not going to satisfy it.
I always get the same thing: the Brownie Special, with a warm cream cheese brownie and delicious, mint chocolate chip ice cream. The brownies are huge, and the people behind the counter always pack my cup with tons of ice cream. Mmmmmm, warm gooey chocolate treat with refreshing cold ice cream on top. Life doesn't get any better than that, guys.
I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about when they complain about how expensive everything is. The multiple times I've treated David to ice cream (he helped me with my taxes, he deserved a reward) and gotten something for myself, my bill never went above $7. Maybe I've just gotten used to the crazy inflation, but $7 for a regular cup of fro-yo + and a brownie loaded down with ice cream sounds pretty reasonable to me...
5 stars for delicious ice cream and good prices.

Being a frozen yogurt snob of snobs, I have to say I'm really disappointed in the whole yogurt scene in DC. Perhaps I'm jaded from being so spoiled in selection back in California, or perhaps it's because the few places around here in DC that actually offer frozen yogurt are extremely disappointing.
Whatever the case, Cone E is decent if you're in the mood for ice cream, but in terms of frozen yogurt, you basically have to chose between 6 flavors and pray that one of them is good enough to make you want to cough up the ridiculous amount of money they charge for it. The last time I went there I ordered the smallest size with no toppings and I ended up paying about $3 something for it.
$3? Seriously?

I drive here from Arlington for their frozen yogurt. I love the peanut butter and chocolate flavors. There are frozen yogurt flavors that they always carry: chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter and then a handful of flavors that they rotate. Of the rotational flavors the PUMPKIN is to die for. Yum. I wish they'd call me everytime it comes around. This place is frequented by the numerous George Washington students in the vicinity so sometimes at night (mostly on Thursday/Friday) it can get crowded with undergrads on their cell phones- but I will gladly put up with it.
This place is cash only.

Wonderful frozen yogurt... the vanilla is incredibly creamy, yet really light. The pecan praline was also very tasty. The only drawbacks are that it is a little overpriced and they only take cash. However, it is definitely the best frozen yogurt I have found in D.C.
Update 9/2: Apparently the frozen yogurt here has ruined all other frozen yogurt for me. I drove to four (yes 4!) different frozen yogurt shops and none of them compared to the creaminess and lightness of Cone-E-Island.

This place is nothing special, but definitely better than Baskin Robbins or something. I stop here only if I happen to be passing by on a hot day. I like the chocolate eclair ice cream, but it didn't wow me or anything. Larry's and Gifford's are much, much better.

A lot of stores and eating establishments have come and gone from 2000 Penn over the years, but Cone-E-Island is still around for a reason. Hands down, the best frozen yogurt anywhere! Fat free, low calorie and doesn't taste like air or preservatives. Great ice cream, baked goods and hot toppings, too. If you're looking for more elaborate ice cream creations (a la Cold Stone), this might not be the spot for you.

I love bad puns in general, so I was drawn to this place to get ice cream. What I found was expensive yet very delicious ice cream. Many (if not all) of their ice creams are homemade and home mixed, and they have unique creations. They also serve Wow Cow, the low-cal frozen yogurt.

I love this place because they always have a pretty good selection of ice cream -- including *soy* for the vegans out there. It's also great because of its close proximity to Tower Records. They only take cash and GWorld though, so come prepared. They have fat free ice cream and it's good -- enough said. :-)

I loved my angel food cake flavored ice concoction. How unique! It was also tasty and I enjoyed the texture. And they take the GWorld card, so no tax for me. I also had a sample of the Milky Way (a lower fat version of a Wendy's frosty). For 13 calories an ounce, it is quite a treat - especially mid-day.
