This airport is GHETTOOOOOOO !!!!! LOL
One of the very few uncontrolled airports in the LA terminal area. I've only been here once to practice my uncontrolled airport radio calls. The two little runways are so cute... but that's the opposite of ideal from a pilot's POV. It felt like it was barely wide enough for my main gear and even though I landed super slow I still had to slam on the brakes to avoid running off the end lol.
We taxied past all these old broken down planes with flat tires.. they just looked SAD and reminded me of broken down cars on cinder blocks in people's front yards! Pretty much what you'd expect at COMPTON airport lol.... We did a few laps in the pattern. The other plane sounded like osama bin laden and we couldn't really understand half of what he said so we kept him in sight at all times just to be sure.
Probably will have to come here again at some point for uncontrolled practice but I'd rather not....
