I had been to accupuncture before, on the Eastside in a private clinic and had seen and spoken with the Accupunturist at my former massage therapists office, but neither were affordable options, especially during this recession and having lost health benefits.
One was clinical and I laid in the dark, but myself, wondering when or if she was coming back. The session helped, but I wasn't anymore educated that when I went in. The other was more spa like, and though lovely, I felt like I was paying for a spa service, when what I really wanted was something that was sustainable...
I am OVERJOYED to have found CommuniChi and can't recommend it highly enough. The energy, the environment is humming with healing and peace. It's simple, but feels abundant. It's public (meaning there are sometimes 10 people in the space with you), but feels private - it's quite, peaceful, and the light is just right (not dark, not bright).
In the reception room they have tea and water, books to read more, and a place to just chill so you can gather yourself before you head back into the world.
I've never had an issue with parking even with the Light Rail construction and really no noise issues (which I expected with construction) to disrupt the peace.
Because it's so afforabable one can go on a regular basis and really reap the benefits (I had only imagined before) of a sustainable healing practice.
Jordan and Serena built an amazing community space of healing and I'm looking forward to supporting them for years to come.

Communichi is amazing!!!!!! Check this place out! sliding scale acupuncture $15-25 excellent practioners. I try to get here at least every few weeks and it really works wonders for me.
I started going to Communichi about 2 months ago, and unfortunately for my loved ones and acquaintances, I never waste an opportunity to talk about what a positive experience it is.
I recently lost my health insurance and then started having miserable allergies for the first time in my life. Over the counter medication is prohibitively expensive yet ineffective for me, and I couldn't find any doctors who I could afford or who wouldn't lead to an all day wait at a public health clinic, just to be prescribed some drug that might not work. Luckily some Googling led me to to find out that acupuncture is often effective for allergies, and then I found Communichi.
Honestly, I'm not sure I would have gone the first time if I had really read their website carefully, because it was in a neighborhood I had never been to and I had no idea I would be in the room with a bunch of strangers...and I'm really freaked out by needles in any case. Thankfully I went to my first appointment not knowing what the expect, and it blew me away. Serena radiates compassion, and the atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxing that I actually enjoy having others in the room experiencing treatment at the same time.
I cannot rave enough about the results--after the first treatment, I started to breath again and finally slept without waking up to cough so hard that I threw up...yes, this disgusting thing was happening almost every night, so it was quite the relief! I feel wonderful after every treatment, and the treatment I'm receiving now for a few different concerns is greatly helping. Honestly, I've never been to any health practitioner who made me feel as cared for as Serena and Jordan.
This Yelp review can only touch on how much gratitude I feel about having found Communichi!
I've been back, and I am hooked! This time, Serena guided me through a session customized to treat my fasting and cleansing related discomfort. Two hours later, I emerged feeling brand new, ready to concur the remainder of my cleanse. I'm going to return as often as physically possible!

My massage therapist had recommended this place to me and I had never tried accupuncture before. I was having problems sleeping and thought this might help "unblock" some energy. I believe it really helped. I suppose it doesn't matter if you believe in eastern medicine, but I know that each session at communichi, I feel like I sleep for hours. :)
