I suppose for a budget hotel this Comfort Inn was OK. We've stayed in better and we've stayed in worse. It is convenient to Interstate 15 and only two exits away from the Wild Animal Park. Check-in was a snap and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. This is a three-story building and the only way to the upper floors is a single, tiny and airless elevator. We were on the third. The hallway was also extremely warm and airless.
Our room, thankfully, was cool. They've apparently installed individual, whiz-bang, electronic AC units in each room... complete with remote control. Once you get the hang of it, keeping the room comfortable is easy. Our room had two queen beds, table and chairs, TV unit, microwave and fridge. Also had a balcony complete with its own small table and chair. Bathroom was standard issue motel. Also, a small vanity table just outside the bathroom with in-room coffee maker.
The room was clean and comfortable. Typical motel decorating with newer furnishings. The TV had about 20 channels but the reception was iffy on a couple of them. Our main complaint was there were no snack machines on the property. Once we get back to our room in the evening, open a bottle of wine and see what's on TV, we occasionally get a Frito craving. There's a 7-11 nearby, but that involves getting dressed and going outside. There are also several fast food joints within walking distance.
$89.99 for a room with a king or two queens.
Can't rate it 5-stars because then how would I rate the Ritz-Carlton? Can't rate it 4-stars because even in this price range we've stayed in nicer places. Really can't rate it 2-stars or below because that would imply it's a dump and it's really not. It's just average.
It's a place to stay when you have to be in Escondido. Nothing more, nothing less.

I had to stay here for a conference I was attending and I was extremely pleased with everything. Honestly I was a little afraid because I usually stay at 4 and 5 star hotels but this place definitely exceeded my expectations of a hotel of this caliber. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and quick. The rooms were clean and odorless. It is coveniently located next to the I-15 and a huge shopping center across the street. I didn't have any issues with checkout. No complaints!

I thought this motel was pretty decent until I found a cockroach in the bathroom. I grew up in San Diego and have never seen a cockroach there before so I thought it was pretty shocking. Also the tv had weird problems. The staff was nice though. I think you can probably find something better in the area for the same price.
