I stayed here one Saturday night to addend a wedding. From check in to departure I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean the breakfast nice and most of all the staff was friendly and very helpful. One of the nicest places you can stay in Half Moon Bay.

$160 for a Comfort Inn?  Okay, I know it's in Half Moon Bay and you are playing for location but can I have a shower that drains at least?

My bestfriend's wedding was just this past weekend and let's face it, rates were high elsewhere and it was the most least expensive being that I was simply using the place to sleep for a few hours.  But really? The drizzling outside was better water pressure than the shower itself.  AND the water had issues draining.  FAIL.

Granted internet was free and the continental breakfast but really?? $160??  Not if i didnt have to would I stay again.

    p.s. hair dryer was great!

Was a little worried at first that this was going to be dumpy but it ended up being a nice stay. There weren't many people on the side of the hotel we were on which was great for us. The rooms were clean and had large comfortable beds (and a sofa). We opted for the whirlpool tub which was splendor. I might have enjoyed it too much. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave which worked out good on the night that we decided to skip eating out and had a picnic in the room:)

There is a complimentary breakfast which includes belgian waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee, etc....I opted for the bagels most mornings. You can sit back in the lobby- read a paper or watch the news. It was a great start to our morning treks.....if you're looking for something close to the beach that is secluded, clean and affordable - this is a great place.

We loved our stay here.  We splurged on a room with a king-sized bed and a jacuzzi bathtub.  For 1/4th the price of a room at the Ritz Carlton, not only did we have a lovely, comfy, quiet, clean, room that  included a continental breakfast but it also included free parking, free wifi and a free exercise room.

When I checked out the reviews on http://tripaadvisor.com I was amazed at the high prices in HMB.  The Comfort Inn was among  the least expensive.  I just don't understand why and how people can shell out over $500 before taxes, parking fees and misc fees for a place to sleep for ONE night!

Oh well.  We were quite happy in our room.  The beds were comfy although higher off the ground than most.  The jacuzzi bath cost a bit more but I decided to treat myself.  Ahhhhh....so refreshing to have a bubble bath (I brought my own) with jacuzzi jets!   I could get used to a bath like this!

The continental breakfast was substantial enough for us.  Several choices of cold cereal, oatmeal packets, juices, waffles, Dannon yogurt,
bananas, oranges, apples, bagels (with butter, peanut butter, jam or cream cheese), a toaster, packaged pastries, about 10 different kinds of tea to choose from, coffee, hot chocolate packets, hard boiled eggs,.

    The staff was very pleasant.

We will definitely stay here again.

We took our dog with us to stay at this "pet friendly" hotel. It is so nice to find hotels that accept pets and they only charge $10 per pet with 2 dogs being the limit. Our room smelled very clean and it was nice sized with a microwave and mini refrig. The reception area is well staffed with friendly clerks. They even helped me find a place that delivers Pizza to the hotel. The breakfast was outstanding! I was expecting the usual cold cereal and pastries, but on the morning we were there, they added sausage and cheese omelets which were delicious! You can also make your own waffles and they have bagels and cream cheese or your choice of yogurts. I was very impressed!  The only thing lacking from me giving a full 5 stars was the fact that there was no area outside for the doggies to go potty! It was all gravel and sidewalk. My dog was a little confused about that! All in all, we would stay at the Comfort Inn the next time we are in Half Moon Bay.

I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations.  All half moon bay motels/hotels are expensive.  This is one of the cheaper ones at 139.

It was very clean, bigger than what I expected, late check in is always guarunteed.  They had complimentary bottled water and granola bar in the rooms (unlike other hotels that charge you double the price for their snacks that have been sitting there for months).  They have complimentary continental breakfast from 7AM - 10 AM.  Unfortunately, we missed it but our friends said they had waffles and some other hot foods.

Only thing is that though the towels look white and brand new, they were a smaller thin size bath towel.  I like fluffy thick and big towels.

We would definitely stay there again!

    Pluses:

    1. on-line booking
    2. fridge and microwave and in room coffee, also an iron and ironing board, and shaving mirror; in-tub jacuzzi
    3. tv had the food channel
    4. free wireless internet, but had to get password from desk
    5. two waters and one nutrigrain bar in room (one?? for two peeps...)
    6. lobby coffee "shop" open 24/7
    7. Continental breakfast better than most, see pics. One of the workers "seasoned" the waffle maker before 7am so peeps wouldn't have to ruin one. Yogurts in ice on first day. Hard boiled eggs already peeled.
    8. Very nice workout room. Excellent universal gym. Bathroom and extra towels and water cooler in the gym room.

    Minuses:

    1. No laundry bag. Ok, I know they don't have a laundry room, but it would have been nice to have a plastic bag to put my dirties in for the trip home.
    2. One ice machine. Seriously? And it didn't work the second night. I checked at 6pm, 8 and 9pm - no ice.
    3. The waters and nutrigrain was nice, but it would have been nice to have one for the wifey.
    4. Most places I stay I don't need a PW to get on-line. It annoys me when I have to ask for one.
    5. No yogurts, or banana's for bk the second day. Granted it was early, they may have put the yogurts out later, but I asked about banana's and nope, they didn't have any. The toaster is SOOO SLOW. sheesh. So is the waffle maker, but peeps didn't seem to mind waiting. The hard boiled eggs were a nice addition, with salt and pepper too. Though the yolk was perfectly yellow, (no green), the whites were like rubber. :(
    6. Stopper in tub was not seated properly. That is, it wasn't where it needed to be to operate properly. I know, minor thing, easily fixed, but annoying nonetheless.
    7. Not enough seating for bk. There is only 3 tables in the lobby, and only 3 more were set up in an adjoining room. Peeps were clearly trying to enjoy their bk in the sofa and chairs by the fireplace. Not me, I'd hate to have to try to eat a waffle with one hand while holding my plate with the other.  Spells disaster. Even just one more table in the adjoining room would have eased the congestion.
    8. Our toilet leaked! lol We couldn't figure out where the water was coming from. Finally, as we were just about to check out, I realized when I leaned back on the tank I heard dripping. Sheesh...yes, I did tell them when we checked out.
    9. No menu's of local restaurants. Not in the room, and not in the lobby.

It really isn't a bad place, they just need to make sure everything works properly in the rooms and make a few other improvements.  We will most likely stay here again.

When my mom said "meet us at the motel," I was expecting to find run down accommodations.  I found the exact opposite.  Our room was clean, comfortable, and ripe with amenities.  Microwave, mini fridge (with freezer section), premium channels, free (yes, still free here) water and nutri grain bar and my favorite...free continental breakfast.  Waffles, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastry breads, what more do you need?

Five minutes driving to get to restaurants and stores and five minutes by foot to get to the beach (just take the side alley).  Can't wait for my next mini getaway.

This is my favorite cheap escape from SF.  The rooms are HUGE, they accept pets, they have comfy king size beds and AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!  My apartment is on the top floor and it gets SO hot, when I cannot take it anymore I head to HMB and stay at the Comfort Inn......check the website price and then call, often you can get a room for less than the web price-cool...................ah, air conditioning!!!!!  I LOVE IT.

A good deal but I will get a top floor room next time. We had elephantine neighbours above us and you could hear every stomp. It was as if the ceiling was made of cardboard.

Very nice hotel/motel. Nicely appointed room- large- microwave, fridge,  decent continental breakfast. And the staff (thanks Diana!) were so friendly, courteous and helpful. We stayed this weekend. Great weather. Comfortable lodging. Nice bang for your buck. Plus..we got to bring our dog along for only $10.00 add'l. Beats the xtra $50/ per night we paid at Best Western Monterey last month! It was so hot we wish they'd had a pool!

Great service and clean rooms!  The lady at the check in was very nice.  The room was plain but very clean and the continental breakfast was delicious.  Try the waffles!

Overpriced, of course, but that's Half Moon Bay.  No complaints about the room, but the breakfast is a joke.  Whoever is in charge of it is completely clueless.

Our stay was fantastic.  The room was clean and spacious -- king size bed and a full couch.  The bathroom was a little small but how much time do you really spend in there.  Full sized counter top with sink outside the bathroom.  The free breakfast was great -- everything you could want w/o bringing out a full kitchen and then some.  Overall there were a ton of thoughtful little touches that you will not think to look for but really appreciate being there - hairdryer, iron + full ironing board, garment bag, microwave, fridge, 24 hr coffee service in the lobby.  It was a short walk from the beach, don't need to drive.
