When my mom said "meet us at the motel," I was expecting to find run down accommodations. I found the exact opposite. Our room was clean, comfortable, and ripe with amenities. Microwave, mini fridge (with freezer section), premium channels, free (yes, still free here) water and nutri grain bar and my favorite...free continental breakfast. Waffles, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastry breads, what more do you need?
Five minutes driving to get to restaurants and stores and five minutes by foot to get to the beach (just take the side alley). Can't wait for my next mini getaway.
We couldn't get a room at the other inn. Certainly am glad. Thought that one was just ok gotta have a bed for the night. So we tried the Comfort Inn. I was really please with everything. Air Conditioner, Hot Water , Clean comfortable bed, Good lighting. Check in was easy and correct. Parking was free and ample room. Complimentery water and granola bar in room.. Plenty of ice for those midnight margaritas. The breakfast buffet was good, really good. I have type 2 diabetes and had good choices for a meal. Fruit, milk, boiled eggs, yogurt and awesome make yourself wafles. Tea and coffee were great also. Was less than 200 for 4 people. Consider free park, breakfast could have been way over $200 for 4 people. 2 adults and 2 children. Still seemsa like a lot but hey your are near the beach on a Saturday night in October.
We loved our stay here. We splurged on a room with a king-sized bed and a jacuzzi bathtub. For 1/4th the price of a room at the Ritz Carlton, not only did we have a lovely, comfy, quiet, clean, room that included a continental breakfast but it also included free parking, free wifi and a free exercise room.
When I checked out the reviews on http://tripaadvisor.com I was amazed at the high prices in HMB. The Comfort Inn was among the least expensive. I just don't understand why and how people can shell out over $500 before taxes, parking fees and misc fees for a place to sleep for ONE night!
Oh well. We were quite happy in our room. The beds were comfy although higher off the ground than most. The jacuzzi bath cost a bit more but I decided to treat myself. Ahhhhh....so refreshing to have a bubble bath (I brought my own) with jacuzzi jets! I could get used to a bath like this!
The continental breakfast was substantial enough for us. Several choices of cold cereal, oatmeal packets, juices, waffles, Dannon yogurt,
bananas, oranges, apples, bagels (with butter, peanut butter, jam or cream cheese), a toaster, packaged pastries, about 10 different kinds of tea to choose from, coffee, hot chocolate packets, hard boiled eggs,.
The staff was very pleasant.
We will definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel/motel. Nicely appointed room- large- microwave, fridge, decent continental breakfast. And the staff (thanks Diana!) were so friendly, courteous and helpful. We stayed this weekend. Great weather. Comfortable lodging. Nice bang for your buck. Plus..we got to bring our dog along for only $10.00 add'l. Beats the xtra $50/ per night we paid at Best Western Monterey last month! It was so hot we wish they'd had a pool!
I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations. All half moon bay motels/hotels are expensive. This is one of the cheaper ones at 139.
It was very clean, bigger than what I expected, late check in is always guarunteed. They had complimentary bottled water and granola bar in the rooms (unlike other hotels that charge you double the price for their snacks that have been sitting there for months). They have complimentary continental breakfast from 7AM - 10 AM. Unfortunately, we missed it but our friends said they had waffles and some other hot foods.
Only thing is that though the towels look white and brand new, they were a smaller thin size bath towel. I like fluffy thick and big towels.
We would definitely stay there again!
This is my favorite cheap escape from SF. The rooms are HUGE, they accept pets, they have comfy king size beds and AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!! My apartment is on the top floor and it gets SO hot, when I cannot take it anymore I head to HMB and stay at the Comfort Inn......check the website price and then call, often you can get a room for less than the web price-cool...................ah, air conditioning!!!!! I LOVE IT.

A good deal but I will get a top floor room next time. We had elephantine neighbours above us and you could hear every stomp. It was as if the ceiling was made of cardboard.
