8 reviews for Comfort Inn At Penns Landing
Terrific hotel! I booked the hotel on Priceline for incredibly cheap and didn't at all expect it to be so nice! I requested a double room overlooking the river before I arrived and they happily accomodated my request when I (drunkenly) checked into the hotel pretty late into the night.
I didn't take advantage of the free shuttle since it's SO nice to walk around down there and through Old City on a beautiful day, but I appreciate the fact that it's available!
I shared the room with two friends and while I didn't actually spend the night in the hotel either of the two nights (I have a big problem actually ending up sleeping places I'm supposed to), I did take a brief afternoon nap there and the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and had good water pressure.
Saturday morning after my Friday night adventures, I made sure to make it back in time for the free breakfast and the waffle maker was a great touch! Much bigger breakfast selection than I anticipated, with a lot of carbohydrates to help cure a hangover.
The view, big rooms (ours had a hallway to get into the main room!) and the free wi-fi and breakfast can't be beat. If you're on a budget, I'd definitely recommend the Comfort Inn at Penns Landing! Parking might be expensive, but if you're visiting only Philadelphia, you don't need a car anyway. Take a walk, lazies.

This hotel is on a major highway, but it's practically on Penn's Landing and less than a 10-min walk from the Historic Area. The free breakfast is okay (yay waffles!) except the cleaning lady was standing behind everyone, getting angry at them while cleaning the areas obsessively, which made us uncomfortable. Maybe it means the guests are such slobs? We weren't, but anyway...
The internet didn't work the entire time, which sucked. At check-out there was a helpful sign saying they'd refund an "in-room safe" fee. Why would they slap it on in the first place? I never authorised it! What ELSE would they charge you for? Check-out is 11am, which is exactly when the shuttle to downtown finishes. We probably would have been able to make it had the toothless, lazy front desk attendant bothered to get off her personal phone call and stop disappearing every five minutes. We ended up having to get a cab, which cost over $10 (we had too much stuff to just walk).
The room was big, but the bathroom was dirty with all kinds of smears, stains on the ceiling and lots of caked dirt and dust in every corner. Recommended for the location and the free breakfast, but the beds - I felt like that scene in the Simpsons where Homer puts on a bunch of weight and drags Marge into the centre of the bed with him, because he's so fat. My husband and I are practically anorexic and of slim build. God help us if we were of normal weight. It would have been like the Nightmare on Elm Street Bed.
You can't beat the location and at $115 a night during the Fourth of July weekend (which is huge in Philly, if you didn't know), you really get your moneys worth.
They also offer a shuttle that will take your free of charge 20 blocks within the hotel. Make saure to ask at the front desk for the card with the contact information as a friend of mine stayed there and did not get the information when he checked in.
There are some really greatbars right down Delaware Ave and on Spring Garden that are within walking distance. Also, 3 blocks awat is the PHlash which is $5 all day and will take you around the city. Since it is $23 a day per car, if you can get there without one, plenty of transportation options.

The Comfort Inn at Penns Landing is reasonably priced and in good shape. The rooms have probably been updated within the few years. Its clean and the staff is courteous.
Make sure you request a room facing the Ben Franklin Bridge, its the best thing about the hotel and its an awesome site.

This is the hotel you stay at in Philly, when seeing a concert at the Tweeter Center. It is located over the Ben Franklin Bridge in Camden. The hotel is so close that when you are on the lawn at the amphitheater you can look out into the distance and see the comfort inn logo lit up.
The hotel itself is nothing special. It is a comfort inn people. But if this is a guy's weekend together to see a show, or a budget trip to Philly, then it is a great choice. if you want a 4 star stuffy hotel with room service that includes pasta in a truffle sauce or seared duck, eh...then this should not be your choice.
One complaint is that you HAVE to pay for parking. You really have no choice, since the place is located in an area with not much parking outside of the lot. But my friends and I used this hotel for so many summers and always found it to be a good place to crash.

I stayed here in 2002 and there have been improvements since then. This is more or less the cheapest hotel in the area where you don't have to put a chair against the door at night. There is a Hilton and a Sheraton right near here but that was a little out of our price range. Room is clean (although after seeing that one prime-time live report I always take the comforter off the bed and throw it on the floor)
As another review stated you have to pay to park but hey in Paris I have had to pay to pee.
Also located steps away from Dave and busters if you like that sort of thing.

I recently had some family (with rugrats) stay here. Normally, I'd wave them to go somewhere with an ounce of charm and style, but seeing as they were primarily in town to visit historic sites, sample grease-soaked beef and cheese, and shop, this was ideal for them.
Hey, everybody operates on a different speed. And if you've got people you know who are operating on a budget/don't need much more than a bed, then this place gets good reviews. As the other reviewer noted, you may even snag a half decent view of something... or not.
Ah Philadelphia! The city of brother love. The city that brought you the Declaration of Independence, Fresh Prince (pre Bel Air), and Legionaire's disease (seriously). When visiting Philly, it's important to find a good *clean* place to stay! The Comfort Inn Penn's Landing is in a pretty awesome location and it was dirt cheap compared to other hotels. The rooms were actually quite nice; mine had a fabulous view of the Ben Franklin bridge which goes over to Camden, NJ (we later found out that white boys like me aren't very welcome in Camden). The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, but the bathroom could use some renovating. The breakfast buffet was very good and runs till 10 AM. My Belgian waffle even had a liberty bell on it! The attendant was nice enough to get me some fresh orange juice even though I showed up late. The major down side was that they charged $18 (WTF?) a day to park your car there, though I'd probably stay there again. Nice little bar in the lobby.
