My husband and I recently stayed here during at trip to Sequoia National Park (Aug. 09). The hotel is conveniently located only a few miles from the park entrance which is a definite plus. There were several restaurants in close proximity as well as a decent grocery store. The rooms were what you would expect -- good size, clean, nothing fancy but just fine for our needs.

I have to say that the "deluxe" continental breakfast left something to be desired. There were two types of cereal, a waffle maker, and that was about it. The space were the food is served is very cramped and always overflowing with people (there is ample seating, however). Nothing about this breakfast was deluxe.

In the end, this is a fine place to stay if you want to be close to the park and like benefit of knowing exactly what you're going to get in a chain hotel. However, as we drove around I noticed many, many small hotels, B&Bs, inns, etc., and found myself thinking that if I had to do it again, I would do a bit more research about some of these other options. I bet you could get a better price (our room was about $100/night for 2 people) with a bit more personality.

Stayed here one night when visiting Sequoia National Park.  The place was clean and the bed was comfortable however, the bathroom layout was strange.  The bathroom door of my room swung open & blocked the vanity area.  The sink is in the vanity area, not the bathroom.  This was rather inconvenient since I needed to access the sink & bathroom towels easily at the same time.  Door kept getting in the way.  The continental breakfast was nice.  It had those make yourself waffles & a nice, clean eating area off the lobby.  I think this place used to be a Holiday Inn Express because some of the amenities I had were labeled as such.  This was odd.  the free WiFi was so slow in both the lobby and my room that it proved worthless.  It was overpriced for what was offered.

This place used to be a Holiday Inn Express, and when it was, service was great, prices were reasonable, and everything was new.

Now as a Comfort Inn, however, quality has diminished and prices have risen. Still, it is a reliable choice when in the area and is not too far from Sequoia National Park's entrance a few miles up the road. Also, you can walk from here to a pizza restaurant, Mexican restaurant, and a grocer/market. Not bad!

Well, I gotta say i was disappointed with this place.  They advertise as being "pet friendly" on their website, but when i went to check in, there was a hugh sign right in front that said "NO PETS".  Confused, i inquired with the guy behind the counter.  He had no explanation.  And he actually came out to my car to check out my doggy.  I dunno why?
This place is now taken over now by asians.  I must say it's kinda weird getting out of town and finding asians in 3 rivers everywhere.
So here's the breakdown . . .
the room itself was nice, except for the lounge chair . . very small and uncomfortable.  The bathroom was set up weird.  They added a silly small travel closet which was lodged right up against the sink, so you were missing the vanity portion . . . the tub was good though, i even used it and took a bath.  The continental breakfast was adequate. . . waffles, cereal and toast.
However, all of the cups and plates were mini sized.  I dunno why.
and they only had margerine . . . yuk
not a bargain either.
Sherri was unimpressed with this place and would not return.
