Every Tuesday night around 7pm the back room of Annie's Social Club in SOMA transforms into the best kept secret in the San Francisco comedy scene. Up and coming comedians as well as Bay Area favorites pack into the room and do what comics do best, make each other laugh.

If you're looking for a fun and CHEAP way to blow off some steam after work on Tuesday, head over to SOMA and check out this show. The show starts around 6:30, or whenever hosts Jeff Cleary and Chad Lehrman can pull the comics away from the pool table and bar.

Annie's is essentially the next best thing to having a good friend that's a stand up comic. You won't be disappointed with the show, and the beer is dirt cheap, plus almost every comic that makes it over to Annie's is the kind of guy/girl that you would want in your real life Top 8. That's right, they're awesome.

This is AWESOME. It's one of those places that exist in your little hidden away room of secret hopes; a comedy open mic that's friendly, open, and comfortable? The hell you say.

Truly. It's clear that this has been around for a while, but there didn't seem to be any in-club, and though it was obvious many of the folks there knew each other, people looked at me with curiosity, not hostility. There were women there, too, so it's obviously not just a boys' club.

Most exciting of all are all the raw ideas flying around. It's obvious that a lot of the material is being worked out, and there's a cool quality to that immediacy. The audience is right on the line with the performers, and there ain't nothing better than that!
