I absolutely love this place! I have always enjoyed my food, the service, and the BEER! My favorite favorite beer at CBC is the Winter Warmer. It is cinnamony and delicious. and it is WAY better on tap than in the bottle. So you can understand my disappointment when I went back last week [January] and it was already gone from their seasonal list! SO DEPRESSED. I instead ordered a few stouts, and don't get me wrong, they were delish, but not the Winter Warmer that I love :(.

Last week I had to wait over an hour to get seated [and it was NOT restaurant week], which was pretty depressing, but all in all worth it. We snagged a spot a the bar and drank while we waited. It's just odd because the other time we went there was no wait, and it was Saturday night just the same. I hope it's like that next time.

Okay, on to the food. The prices are SO reasonable. I love love love pulled pork. So I got that right off. It was delicious. Definitely a quality pulled pork that deserves a try. And the FRIES! Garlicky and amazing! I could eat a big plate of just those! My boyfriend and I both got the same thing once and then this past time I got a pesto chicken pizza. It was really good! The crust was crispy but light and doughy. The only problem I had with it was a pine-nutty flavor. I just cannot embrace pine-nuts. I definitely will try other things here the next time I go, because they have a lot of tasty looking options on the menu.

There was this awesome promotion going on [it may still be] that if you check in you get a free dessert. We had already gotton the blueberry chocolate bread pudding the first visit, so we got it again. It is so good! I LOVE bread pudding, especially the Cameron Mitchell variety. And although the CBC version pales in comparison, I definitely thought it was tasty. Not as creamy as I usually enjoy, but again, still super
    good.

I think my only complaint with this place is the bread that they serve before the meal. It has really no flavor, and needs a TON of the butter they provide. Luckily the butter is flavored decently. That in no way should deter you from coming and checking this place out. It's awesome!

I want to love this place because it's in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio and I want all microbreweries to ultimately be successful. However, the beer here doesn't grab my attention. It's not terrible, but it lacks a unique appeal.  The year round offerings are the Pale Ale and IPA. I am surprised that there are so few brews style offered up, but I would much rather them perfect a few, than to make many poor beers.

The venue is off the beaten path a bit, which I don't mind, but sometimes the ambience sets the tone for the beer.  The food served here is actually pretty good.

Overall, I come here every couple years and always have an enjoyable experience.

Yum. A group of eight of us went here on Saturday night without a reservation. We decided to wait near the bar with some drinks, and after about 40 minutes we were seated without an issue at a large, round table. I will have to say that we had great service despite our new-ish waitress; she had a couple of issues with our checks, but given that we had some special requests (including a free dessert courtesy of my Yelp check-in and the need to split the check up among eight people).

We ordered four appetizers to split--the pub nachos (with chorizo!), the chicken and andouille sausage quesadilla, the beer-battered asparagus, and the calamari. I would highly recommend all of these dishes and there was plenty of food for the us to try. I was really impressed by the food! We also were given about four plates/loaves of bread, which was wonderful after imbibing some adult beverages. It was super buttery and rich, so I had a piece and then tried to stay away.

For dinner, I opted for a bowl of french onion soup and a spinach salad. Oh wow. The french onion soup was good, though it didn't leap out to me as the best I've ever had, but that spinach salad. Oh my. Parmesan crisps...if you've ever read my review of Market 65, you know how I feel about these things. Add in spinach, red onion, pecans, oven-roasted tomatoes, and huge, pillowy blobs of goat cheese coated lightly in balsamic vinaigrette. I was super happy with this choice.

For dessert, my friend ordered the blueberry bread pudding and the espresso creme brûlée. I sampled both, and they were delish. We were also thrilled about the free dessert thanks to Yelp check-in, so hop on your smartphone and make sure you take advantage of this great offer.

Overall, I loved dining at CBC last night. I would definitely go back--I can't believe this was my first time!--and try more of their dishes. Good beer, good ambience, and great company. I think that if you're choosing between brewpubs, I would pick Elevator for ambience and beer, but CBC for food.

Came here for Restaurant Week. The food and service were both just average. I had a three course meal, and the only thing that really stood out were the risotto croquettes. The other two courses were pretty bland and uninspired. The food wasn't bad, it just isn't something you would probably come to this place for specifically. I was in a party with about 10 people, and most of us felt the same way. Additionally, our server seemed pretty flustered. She had a hard time answering questions about the menu, and when it came time to get the checks, she gave everyone the wrong checks.

I came here for restaurant week earlier this month and just kept wondering why I don't visit here more often.  It reminds me of several of the restaurants in Boise that I visited and wish I could transplant to Columbus.

I had the risotto croquettes, winter greens salad and Atlantic salmon, all of which were perfect.  Not super fancy - just simple, tasty, well-prepared food.

Of course, I don't come to the Brewing Company for the food as much as I do the beer.  They have a great selection of their standard brews (IPA, Pale Ale, Scottish Ale) but also several seasonal options.

The atmosphere made our dining experience quite enjoyable. Not too bright, not too dark.  Not too loud, not too quiet.  I'm also a giant sucker for places where tables of fun, cute older couples can dine comfortably next to tables of younger couples and friends.

Columbus Brewing Company had the most appealing Restaurant Week menu in my price range this time. We got down there about 6:30 and the place was jumping. We had to wait for a table, so we wound up at the bar. I tried one of their beers, it was good, but we're here to eat!

They gave us a cozy booth near the expo station so we could watch everyone hustle around. There was a lot of traffic around our table, but we got plenty of attention from the staff. It looked like a lot of folks were there for Restaurant Week from the food that was coming out of the kitchen. We started with the asparagus fries and the risotto things. The apps were delicious, the asparagus fries were especially good. The sauce under the risotto balls was good enough to soak up with a crust of bread.

Next came tomato soup with Gorgonzola and a green salad with walnut dressing and granny smith apples. The soup was really hot and fresh tasting. The salad was crisp and cold with a lot of sweet components. I could have gone for some bacon or something in the salad to balance the sweetness.

Like everything else, the entrees came out piping hot and looking very delicious. I had the pecan crusted chicken with corn and mashed potatoes. I loved the honey mustard sauce and I wished there had been more of it. My date had the steak, every Restaurant Week menu worth its salt has steak as an option for the entree. She's not a fan of mashed potatoes so I got to eat hers! Score for me, but I thought it was a little uninspired to serve the same starch for both entrees.

Hey yelpers, make sure you check in and get your free dessert if you still have room after eating all that food. We went for it and got the chocolate lava cake and the upside-down banana cream pie. The lava cake was some hot lava, the heat actually cooked the sliced strawberry that was on top.

The banana cream pie was a gut buster. Apparently, "upside down" is code for "we won't be baking an actual pie crust." There really wasn't anything upside down about it. Instead of a crust, there's some crumbly sweet stuff on the plate followed by banana pudding and some very fresh sliced bananas, topped with a huge pile of whipped cream. It was ok, I would have liked another dessert better.

The food came out at a leisurely pace, we spent about two hours eating. No complaints about service, everyone seemed to be on the ball. We had a nice time at CBC, the Restaurant Week menu is a delicious deal.

Not what I expected at all....

Columbus Brewing company's beer is everywhere and we went to the restaurant and it this tiny little brewery down a side street behind a Kroger... The bar area is about as big as the seating area.. We came here pretty late and we had to wait so I can imagine there is a pretty long wait during dinner hour.

The food was hit or miss. I ordered and tasty looking chicken and Havarti cheese sandwich and all you could taste was chicken, i was pretty disappointed. Hubby got a sliced sirloin sandwich that was really good! I'd get that if we went there again. The side salad had Havarti cheese that gave it a yummy twist. Also thumbs up on the french onion soup.

One more thing, don't go there if you plan on watching a game, which we did and expected a brewery would have TVs. We didn't see one

Wow I was blown away by the quesadilla of all things. Had it as entree late night and it was delish. Hubs had jambalaya and it was excellent. Spicy spicy! (and we are hot spice lovers)

The beer, of course, was tasty as well.

We got the free Yelp checkin offer of your choice of dessert and opted for banana cream pie thingy. It was mmm but I don't think I'll really be craving it. Perhaps it was because I was too stuffed from our meal tho.

Stopped by on a Friday night for dinner and drinks, it was crowded but I made a reservation so no issue there. I had their Winter Warmer, which I'd heard was good, and I definitely approve. I had the pecan crusted chicken as an entree. I think it came with mashed potatoes and corn, and the meal was satisfying without leaving me over-stuffed. The real winner was the upside down banana cream pie dessert, which we got for free with my first Yelp check-in (awesome!). It was rich and covered in brown sugar, definitely too much for two people but I couldn't resist it. Anyway, I'll definitely be back. The service was good, the hostess even took my coat, and they have a private parking lot so no searching for meters.

How much do I love Columbus Brewing Company? Let me count the ways...

-Excellent brews (the Pale Ale is my favorite)
-Great food and every dish continues to impress (sandwiches, salads, pizza, I love it all!)
    -Easy parking
-A Yelp check-in offer that is awesome and employees actually know about
    -Large patio seating
    -Friendly staff

Despite the odd location (behind a Kroger) this is becoming one of my favorite Columbus restaurants.

Went here with another couple for dinner a couple months ago and I definitely want to go back. The location is kind of strange, but I kind of like it since at least parking is not a problem because they have their own parking lot.

The food and service were both fine. The atmosphere is nice and casual but not so casual that it's trashy or overly loud. Just your average restaurant with a large bar and good food. I got the salmon and it was just fine. Nothing too amazing but definitely done right enough that I can't find anything to complain about. The prices are on the higher end of average - I think my salmon was around $17, and the glass of wine around $8. I can't speak much for the beers, since I got wine that night. They didn't have the red I wanted, but the waitress suggested  a blended wine (merlot + cab sav?) that was pretty tasty.

    Friendly Helpful Staff

    Now some explainin'

Yes, the chef at CBC is a vegetarian, so he tips his hat to us by creating a unique dish on Monday that is totally vegan.  I've had cold soba noodles with house roasted peanuts that were *mindblowing*  and a vegan soy protein BBQ "shicken" pizza that rockedsocks (no cheese, spicy BBQ, all delicious).  Plus, the pizza qualified for Pizza and a Pint, so my entire meal was like $10.  CBC is now, and forever while I'm in Columbus (for the next 10 weeks) my Monday night establishment.

I'm a big fan of CBC beers.  Not only are they all unique and delicious, they're brewed and bottled right there on-site.  I'm sad that the double IPA is rotating out, but the regular IPA is also noteworthy.  If you really like their beer, you can buy it in growler right there at the bar (and I think it comes with a free pint).

Pro-Tip:  Right now, if you check in on Yelp, you can get a free dessert.
Pro-Tip Pro-Tip: There's a lot of construction on roads around CBC right now, so if you're using a GPS, plan for a second route just in case.  I was totally screwed up the other night (BEFORE I GOT THERE) ((not funny, don't drink and drive)

I went with a friend for happy hour. I'm not a beer fan, but the beer and pizza deal is a bargain. The pizza was really good, nice crust and generous toppings and almost enough for two. I had a glass of Malbec for $6 and the quesadilla from the happy hour appetizer list. The quesadilla was good. The strawberry shortcake was just OK. The lava cake was really good, but a little on the small side.
Coffee was good. For the price, the food was a good deal. I would like to see some lighter (less fatty) items on the appetizer list.

What a great time to support the Meatless Monday Menu!

Great weather to sit out on the patio!

We tried the meatless Monday special, which was a spicy, colorful, heartily delectable pasta marinara with lots of veggies in it, as well as housemade vegan meatballs. We also tried the Pizza and a pint and built our own vegan pizza which was ordered as a margarita style base with the following changes:
    No cheeses

Add: caramelized onions, sauteed spinach, artichokes, roasted red bell pepper, sauteed mushrooms, pecans, and topped with balsamic reduction and fresh basil.

Both dishes were a hit! Our servers Kayla and Duztin did a excellent job catering to vegan requests!

The only reason this didn't rate a 5 is because the hostesses didn't have it together initially. Not the end of the world, just not perfect.

    Definitely going back again!

I was there Friday night for a late dinner with some friends (8:30-9:00), and it was busy, but not overly crowded, perhaps because it is Easter weekend as I'm writing this.

I had the house salad (Crisp romaine and mesclun greens, marinated olives, roasted beets, carrots, sherry vinaigrette, goat cheese and Rebekah's cornbread croutons 5.75).  Amazingly good.  I was surprised at how well the saltiness of the olives went with everything.

I also had the goat cheese ravioli (Freshly made ravioli served in a shiitake mushroom broth with sun-dried tomatoes and white truffle oil 8.95).  Again, amazingly good.

If you "check in" with the Yelp app and show it to your server, you get a free dessert.  My friends and I shared the CBC bread pudding ($5.75) and the upside-down banana cream pie ($5.50).  The dessert portions are huge--one dessert would have been sufficient for the three of us.

The weeknight pizza-and-a-pint special sounds like a great deal!  I look forward to going back and checking out their patio once the weather warms up.

When we couldn't stand an hour wait at The Thurman, we decided to go adventuring around the area for another place to have dinner. My friend said that she had always wanted to go here, so we took a little hike down there. What a great choice! I had the Summer Teeth beer with the chicken and shrimp stir-fry. It was spicy-delicious and a lot different from a "classic" stir-fry. It had a more thai flavor than soy sauce flavor. My friends really liked the garlic fries that came with their cheeseburgers.

The only downside to this restaurant is that it is slightly pricey. I'm sure its a good price for the usual young professional crowd, but for me, a "starving artist", it was a bit of a reach.

All in all, I'd definitely go back...but only if someone else is paying!

I've been a fan of this brewery since before it traded hands. I don't know the whole story behind all of that, but I was under the impression it used to be owned by Cameron Mitchell. I know he owned the restaurant, but I'm pretty sure it got sold off. Turns out that now, at least, the restaurant and the brewery share nothing but a name.

I was initially upset with the changes being made over at CBC. They axed the Apricot Ale, which was an award-winning beer, along with the 1859 Porter, which I was a big fan of, and all the other brews but the Pale Ale, as far as I know. However, when I learned that they were crafting more new beers, like an Oatmeal Stout and an IPA, I began to come around.

They also have a series called Hop Odyssey that features a different beer style roughly every month, and they are having tap parties at establishments around Columbus for each one. Very cool indeed. Columbus Pale Ale has been a bit of an institution. It is the official beer of Comfest and used to be (maybe still is) available at many city sporting events and functions.

I do miss Cameron Mitchell's ownership though. Back then I could get a pony keg of CBC Pale Ale for $50 (that's way less than even the wholesale cost). It was a little known perk of working for the company.

Wow, I was blown away by this place. I was expecting to like it, but not nearly this much! They are definitely "As good as it gets" as far as brewery experiences in Columbus.

First, the wait was long... totally expected. After doing some serious wine shopping at the nearby Kroger, we found some seats at the bar. With my tasting flight and good company, I didn't notice the hour-long wait at all... but the hostess staff did! They kept coming over to give us updates on our wait time (without us asking or looking worried about it! How nice is that?) and apologized about the long wait even though we hardly noticed. They quoted us 45 mins to an hour, and we waited about an hour. In my book, we signed up for the long wait time... but they were so gracious about it, they even comped us an appetizer. I felt really cared for, and very valued as a customer.

My walleye special was incredible with some shrimp/crawfish mashed potatoes and wilted spinach. The flavor palate was creative and unexpected. The fish was perfectly crispy. This isn't your regular pub fare, folks. The greens maybe had a little too much sauce on them... but overall I was thoroughly impressed.

I thought the interior was cozy and vibrant at the same time. Lots of glass, modern vibe. Yelp sticker in the window. :)

Oh, and the beer is pretty fantastic, too!

Talk about an oasis in the desert.

We tried CBC for my beer lover's birthday. After driving in the dark, through empty snow-covered streets, we saw a beacon of yummy warmth that was the Columbus Brewing Company.

Although we had reservations, we were late (darn you 315!!!), but they still seated us immediately. The place was packed but there was no wait, thankfully.

We had a great waitress. She was very attentive, quick and seemed to not mind the kid we brought along.

We started with some drinks, coke and milk for me and the kiddo, and a flight for the bf. Since it was his birthday they comped the flight, which was unexpected and very nice. The waitress said he could have a free dessert if he wanted, but the Jeni's ice cream was still in our belly so he went with the flight.

They were out of one ale, so he only had 6 samples (2-3 oz each). All were good, though he didn't really care for the Apricot Ale. Too sweet for his taste.

We had the goat cheese and mushroom ravioli for an appetizer. He loved it, I thought it was OK. A little too dry for my liking. I ate one, he ate the other 4. As we were leaving I noticed several people who had the ravioli as their meal, so it is popular.

For our entrees, I had the shaved prime rib sandwich and garlic fries, the kiddo got buttered noodles and cheese bread and the bf went with the daily special. An encrusted walleye with corn relish and some sort of crawfish topping.

Mine was very good, but I was so full from lunch that I really couldn't eat much.

The bf chose an IPA to accompany his meal and loved both the beer and the food. He filled up quickly as well, so the waitress boxed our food up and we took it home.

I do wish we had saved room for some desserts, because they looked so good. But that's just a reason to go back.

A nice aesthetic feature was the glass wall in the back, that showed the brewing facility. It made the place feel more quaint.

Overall, it was a very nice visit. I'm glad we went, and glad there's still a brewery in the brewing district!

Boy it's been a long time since I was here.  That was back when Cameron Mitchell still owned it and that was a long time ago.  Not much has changed though, although I had forgotten about them having the brewery right off the dining room.

But the food is still pretty good.  I had the goat cheese ravioli as an appetizer and it was very good.  It was served with a very light marinara sauce.  For my main, I had the pulled pork sandwich.  That came with what tasted like garlic fries and a very small dish of cole slaw.  For dessert I finished up with a deconstructed piece of banana cream pie.  Different, that's for sure.

All in all, a good meal.

Pubish food. Not quite pub. Not quite upscale. I dont know if they know who they want to be.

They get an extra star for their beer. But they should be two star for the restaurant and the food. Barleys executes better pub food with a better pub atmosphere. Elevator executes a better atmosphere with better food.

Columbus should have Restaurant Week more often. We're talking once a month. That would make everyone over-the-moon happy. Who can I talk to about this!? :)

On with it!... The fella and I headed to CBC for the end of Restaurant Week last night - and besides the drunk a$$holes on the patio who treated their server like garbage (unacceptable) - we had a wonderful experience.

Unfortunately the draft lines were screwed up - yea, at a brewery!? - so we didn't get to try the refreshing CBC brews on tap. He settled with a bottled brew and I opted for the CBC Cosmo. Not gonna lie... sort of happy I did. That Cosmo was fantastic! The vodka-soaked pineapple slice was my favorite!

The house salad was surprisingly unique and delicious and had beets and goat cheese (P.S. I love goat cheese). Although my fella hated (and actually couldn't even finish - it was that gross) his sausage linguini, I adored my orange salmon!

Finish it off with key lime pie and upside down banana creme pie, we agreed that this place was worth coming back to for our monthly date nights - as long as they fix the beer line situation, don't let drunk douchebags overstay their welcome and if don't order the sausage linguini.

Good beer but here is the problem... Feels like a chain.  I can't get past that.   Also, the portions are ridiculously huge which may be a good thing but I just find it unnecessary.  We had the nachos and wings and between 6 of us didn't finish them.   Wouldn't go back.  Much prefer a more authentic feel.

Driving down the "off roads" just a bit to get to where Columbus Brewing Company will lead you to wonder a bit if you are making the right choice. While Columbus Brewing Company is slightly off the beaten path (tucked away in - appropriately - the Brewery District), that's where it gets a bit of its charm. It is somewhat of a secret to those who dare not divert from the safe routes of High Street, Olentangy and Lane Avenues.

While the roads there may not be so dazzling, the restaurant itself has a fantastic decor and an amazing menu that is surprising and fun. Why choose the Columbus Brewing Company? If you're looking for the best locally brewed craft beer, look no further. Columbus Brewing Company offers more than 6 different beers (certain beers available only during certain seasons). My suggestion? Get the SAMPLER and taste all of the beers in all of their glory:

The Columbus Apricot Ale and the 1859 Porter range from light and fruity to dark and hoppy, respectively. There's a beer for all personalities. I once visited in March 2010 in which the seasonal beer of the month was the "Arnold" in celebration of the Arnold Fitness Classic. It got its namesake by the very strong hoppy bite it had...I wish it were around all year, but that's why it's fun to go back and see what new beers they have.

The place gets 5 stars not on its beer alone. Its food is all around fantastic. I couldn't decide between the sweet teriyaki calamari or the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer, so at the suggestion of our amazingly friendly and helpful waitress, I got BOTH and still couldn't tell you which is tastier!

For dinner, my suggestions are the Caribbean style burrito (it comes with mouth watering plantains that everyone should try at least once in their life) and the pulled pork sandwich (I don't recall its name specifically, but it's darn good!).

I never had room for dessert here at the CBC, but wouldn't doubt that it too is great.

Come here to get a true taste of Columbus and some of the best service around. Don't forget to wash down your meals with a beer sampler if you're 21!

PS: Also came here for a Christmas//holiday party for work and had the staff come around with small horsdoeuvres...all great!

I visited Columbus Brewing Company during the Columbus Vegan Week on Oct 27 and Oct 28.  My friends and I were a little disappointed that the special vegan items were only available for dinner time, and not throughout the whole day.  However, the manager there was extremely friendly and understanding.  He invited us back for lunch the following day to try out their vegan chili pot pie, which was supposed to be available during dinner only.  We were glad we went back there for this special arrangement!  Both the presentation and taste of the pot pie were absolutely delightful.  I highly recommend it.

I also want to commend the restaurant for listening to customers' feedback and catering to people with different dietary concerns. They are going to start incorporating "Meatless Mondays" with vegan dinner specials that vary weekly from 5pm till close. Kudos to the management!

Went in Monday for the Restaurant Week special.  Nice place with plenty of free parking, but a bit of a unusual location.  Not a lot of seating (especially if you don't count the patio) for as popular as this place get sometimes on the weekends.  Good craft beer and a decent winelist.  We had the encusted chicken and salmon.  Both were good.  The mini key lime dessert was really good.  Definitely would come back.

I was in town on business and we decided to try a local non-chain place so we stopped here. When we walked in it almost felt like a big cross country "chain" restaurant with a more modern twist.

I tried the Columbus Apricot Ale, that was pretty good.   We also ordered the ravioli for an appetizer and that was VERY good.  I loved the truffle oil on it. Then I ordered the CAJUN JAMBALAYA
(Tiger shrimp, salmon, chicken, seared andouille sausage, roasted red peppers and fresh spinach in a spicy roma tomato sauce.  Served over seasoned brown rice.)
It was delicious! I actually would go back and get that again.  I liked that they added salmon to it.  It was pretty spicy but I love spice so it was right up my alley.

Overall I was pretty impressed with the service and food.  Good job guys!

I love this place so much. Amazing food. I am never disappointed. Love that the beer is local and that the staff takes the time to suggest things that they have actually tried.

CBC is much more like standard brewery than Elevator (which I just reviewed). It's slightly upscale, as craft breweries tend to be, but it's very down to earth. The food is good and the beer is better. I could do without all the middle aged yuppies, but hey, I guess that's why I don't normally hang out at places like this (places where tattoos are the exception not the rule - just a personal preference).

My two friends from Chicago and my friend's husband joined me for dinner here last night. We ended up sitting at the bar for about 40 min. while we waited to be seated - which was seriously no big deal. I drank Scottish Ale all night, and it was outstanding. When we got seated, our service was fairly slow - but granted we were having a conversation and kept forgetting to look over the menu - so it wasn't entirely the server's fault. But once we ordered, it was a while before we got our food, and more importantly, our beer glasses remained empty until after our food came, when we finally got to order another round.

The food was good - my friend and her husband both had pizzas, which looked excellent - nice and light and fresh. I had scallops, which were good, and my other friend had some sort of pasta dish. Again, this was a situation with good food but better company. Although I do want to stress that I really enjoyed my beer.

We stayed here for about six hours, finally leaving because everyone else in the restaurant had pretty much left and the servers were looking at us sideways. I'm not sure if they're open like a normal bar (which would have given us two more hours), or if they close earlier, but it was nice of them to be polite about our dawdling. I'd come back here if someone visiting wanted to get microbrews, but it's not my style otherwise. Good experience, though.

I wish I could give CBC 4.5 stars. The beer is excellent, the food is excellent, and the service is excellent. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I reserve that rank for places that I obsessively want to eat at, and even though everything here is top notch, I don't find myself wanting to eat here all the time.

That being said, we've been here twice now and both times have been great experiences. We were seated immediately, and the restaurant was busy but not obnoxiously so. Drinks came out quickly (so far I've tried the Apricot Ale and the Summer Teeth, loved the Apricot Ale), and the bread that they served with dinner was SOO tasty. I know that sounds weird, but it really was very good. I typically don't eat the bread at restaurants to try to save on calories but Justin and I nom-nomed all of it in short order.

For dinner I had the Jambalaya, which was excellent, and it was packed with chunks of sausage, chicken, and massive shrimpies. Sometimes when you order dishes like that you're getting rice and sauce with a few itty bitty pieces of meat... not so here. I was impressed. The second time we came I got the parmesan crusted walleye which was very good, made even better with the risotto coquette (I love risotto...). I thought the tomato chutney topping it was somewhat of a strange combo and I probably would have chosen something else, but it was still good. Justin had the Fennel Sausage pizza, which was okay, but I don't think I like either fennel or banana peppers. I'm not sure which because I've never had either. He also tried the grilled chicken and bacon sandwich that came with really good garlic fries. Next time we go I'm going to get their pub chips... those sound delicious.

I'd definitely recommend this place; we would have been eating here much more often but we didn't even realize it was right in our neighborhood (thanks Yelp). It's a little out of the way and maybe somewhat confusing to find if you're not familiar with the Brewery District but it's worth the trip.

    Mmmmm, beer.

Columbus Pale Ale = the original love
Summer Teeth = smooth and crisp love
Apricot Ale = fruity and hoppy love
Creeper = super high ABV love
Columbus IPA = American hops love

Those are the 5 that come to mind immediately. I think I've tried a few more CBC brews, too, and you know what? I have NEVER had a bad beer from here. Ever.

Good pizzas. Good other food, from what I've heard. And for every menu item, a color-coordinated beer pairing guide. Fantastic.

And for dessert? Upside-down banana cream pie is sloppy, sweet deliciousness. Chocolate lava cake is just a sin.

This is a solid brewpub, certainly the best in the city.  Unlike other commenters, I was not impressed by the pizza, though (not so great crust), and would like to see a little more beef on the menu.  I had nachos and wings for appetizers and fennel sausage pizza.  Nachos and wings were great, and the pizza would have been too on a better crust.

Their beer is quite tasty.  I had an IPA that, unlike a lot of IPAs you now nowadays, was not sweetend to compensate for its natural hoppy bitterness.  I also had their porter, which was mighty tasty.  Rich and chocolaty like a porter should be.

What really impressed me about CBC was the service.  The entire staff was very friendly and helpful.  The waitress gave good recommendations.  My pizza was only two minutes late, and the manager came out to offer me a free beer to make up for it.  Now that alone would be sufficient to get me back to a restaurant  Most importantly, my group was not rushed at all.  We had a nice, relaxed meal with service that was friendly, helpful, and timely but never intrusive.  This is an art that is hard to find these days.

As I said, I wouldn't recommend the pizza, but this place is great to go out for dinner and a few beers.  In the summer you can sit out on the patio, too.  Also, try their fried plantains!  A friend had these, and they were delicious.

This place gets a five star rating from me because I went there expecting great beer and that is exactly what I got.

I was so blown away by the Winter Warmer that I can barely remember the food! I went with friends for appetizers and the artichoke spinach dip was the highlight. Great crowd for happy hour and great drink specials.

If  you like microbreweries, seasonal beers, and looking for a down to earth place to hang out with friends midweek this is the place.

A nice departure from the park street scene in the arena district and plenty of parking. You will find me there checking out the latest seasonal brew.

Offers tasting plates, very cool.  Some beers are a little heavy at times, and a little too much apricot in other beers.  The best time to visit this place, I'd bet, is probably winter.  It was good stuff all the same though.

Food was okay, but pretty standard (you might find it at Houlihan's).  However, it was a special event when we went there and so there were some free beer tastings and free appetizers.  I can't really complain about that.

All in all, a good place.  One thing though: do NOT use Google Maps to find out how to get here.  Just trust me.

This place is Great. On a brewery search on my first trip to Columbus we found this place.

Unfortunately we just ate dinner so we did not get to try the food however we were there to drink some good beer and did we ever.

Started out with a Pint of their IPA- Very nice, smooth, easy to drink and a nice taste.  From there we moved on to a 7 beer sampler flight and it was great. The Bartenders were awesome and friendly especially to a MSU fan in downtown Columbus.  The  beer sampler was very easy to drink and very tasty.  Anyone going to Columbus for the first time, make sure you do not leave Columbus without stopping here!

I am still lusting after a seasonal salad two years back- but what can you do? I'm a slut for figs and dates.
The service was on top of it, I'm difficulty, too many allergies. A friends shrimp and cocktail sauce jumped into my Cesar salad and they took the whole thing back- that was nice.
