I guess I should have seen this cave before I went to Kartchner because it was a let down. Granted Kartchner is a beautiful living cave so they really don't compare, but the tour was just a bit boring. I didn't feel that the guides were very knowledgeable and they didn't give much info on the formations inside the cave. Luckily we'd seen what they looked like when they were living, but would have appreciated them explaining and pointing them out more instead of us trying to figure it out ourselves.
Also I felt like my guide hated his job. He seemed a bit annoyed throughout the tour, which just made the experience worse. I would suggest skipping this place and spending the extra money to see Kartchner. They have educated and friendly state park guides who seem to enjoy coming to work.

This is a good dry cave.
This cavern was discovered in the 1800's and has a colorful history. In the 1930's the CCC spent 4 years building walkways and buildings.
The trail is about 1/2 mile loop in the cavern, with about 350 steps up and down. It take about 90 minutes and is an easy adventure for all ages.
The benefits of this cavern over the others in the area, is that being "dry" it is no longer growing, so it is possible to touch the formations, take photographs, and even carry bottled water with you into the cave.
