I was introduced to Nancy about 10 years ago and she has been my hair care specialist ever since.

Service:
Nancy embodies the spirit of wonderful customer service:  Friendliness, upbeat personality, professional, great follow-through (no surprise double-bookings at your hair appointment!), timeliness (I have never had to sit and wait at my appointment time and I've been going for 10 years, how's that for a proven success story!), and I always walk out looking like a million bucks.

Skills:
Sure I'm a guy so "Am I picky about my hair"?  Absolutely.
A quality that I love about Nancy is that I can trust her and not have to worry about my hair.  We've tried different styles of the years and what's great is that she's on top of current trends and also takes time to talk to you about your hair and facial qualities and what will work for you.  It's not just a rush-job and onto the next.  She clearly cares about her work and it's genuine that she wants you to be happy with the results.

Vibe:
The vibe at Colorbox is awesome, it's always a lively conversation with the gang and everyone is in great spirits (Michelle and Adrienne are very fun folks as well!).  It's an appointment I'm always looking forward to because I know I'll have fun and love the results.

If you are looking for a friendly stylist with consistently proven skills in an environment where you'll walk out with a smile all around, give Nancy a call.

We all know how hard it is to find a good hairdresser and colorist. I really like the neighborhood vibe of colorbox.  It is a very cute and cozy place with character.

I have had my hair cut and colored by Nicola who is great. She put a lot of care and expertise into my cut and color. I also really like Adrienne, whom I had color my hair last time.

Fun shop, nice people, go there for your hair care needs.

A BIG 5 STARS for Michele at the Colorbox. She is an incredible hair stylist and never disappoints. She is a professional and clearly takes pride in her work.  I would highly recommend her services.

Aside from Michele giving a great haircut, going to the Colorbox is a blast. The atmosphere is very social and relaxed. The other stylists are very friendly and someone is always telling a funny story.

The place is decorated with funky cool items and the music is always very good.  Going here is like going to friends groovy loft to hang out, except that you walk out with great hair.

Go to the Colorbox now!

5 stars for Adrienne for booking me last minute on Halloween for Raggedy Andy Red.

It was my first coloring, a spontaneous, last minute sorta thing for a costume and Adrienne made it a really fun time.  I had no idea what to expect and Adrienne talked through the whole process and made it fly by with good chat and funny stories.

My hair is an awesome red and I'm really happy with it.  I can tell they do really high quality work there and Adrienne absolutely loves coloring hair,  since grade school as I learned over chat :)

The salon is a cool space, with a bit of a betty bop feel to it and enough character to fill a phonebook.

This would be my #1 recommendation for anybody getting a coloring in San Francisco.

Michele is the best!

I have curly hair that explodes into a puffy mess. She fixed it... no more puffy mess. (This type of quality has been incredibly hard to find.) I now have a sassy haircut that looks clean and fun.

I'll never go to another place.

so i just got low lights from adrienne, and she did a FANTASTIC job. like i said, i am really hesitant to pay for hair and skin things. i am kind of a broke college student and if i can get it for free, i will. BUT, i will probably continue to go back to adrienne and become one of those people who gets haircuts and color regularly. i accidentally undertipped her by a lot, and when i realized it i felt awful! she is worth every penny and more. made my hair look totally natural and not like i just got it done. i hope to become a regular!

Got some kickass color from Adrienne the other day; a wonderful blue and purple combination. Somehow she read my mind and achieved my two favorite colors.....and despite the amount of bleach and color I needed, my hair is softer than it usually is and it doesn't feel damaged at all. I now look in the mirror a Paris Hilton amount of times a day. So hot right now.

I'm not afraid of vibrant color, so what I got might be extreme for some (aka Dad), but I have full faith in her ability to get you the look you want! I'll surely be back for more. Great environment, friendly employees, convenient location! Oh, and mimosas.

Michele never fails me. I come to her with limp, dry, shapeless curly hair that I've waited WAY too long to get cut, and she always manages to turn it into gorgeous defined curls with layers, bounce and shape. In fact, my latest haircut from her has received more compliments than any other cut I've received in my entire life.  She spends a long time on the cut itself (where most just chop off a few layers and call it a day), checking every strand and the way it curls, and making sure that she cuts it accordingly. Without her cuts I get what I call a "uni-wave" on the side of my head, but she's extremely skilled at defining every strand of hair. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone with curly hair. Oh, and only $60 for a great haircut in San Francisco - quite a deal!

As others have stated, Colorbox itself is smaller than my bedroom, but I love the experience. Especially when I walk out looking and feeling like a new woman!

I went in to see Nancy for a consult after my Hairstylist went crazy with chunky highlights.  She was extremely accommodating and was able to give me 3 options and the best part was she was able to help the current state of  my messy highlights right then and there!  She did a great job and I was extremely please with her expertise, not to mention all the cute collectibles she has in her workspace.  Kudos to you Nancy for a job well done!

After walking by this cute salon with my dog for months, I finally decided to give it a try and to my delight I had a great experience. From cut and conversation to the glass of wine I was offered after, everything hit the mark (and the cuts aren't that expensive either!).

Colorbox has a great punky vibe without being all snobby hipster like some of the other places in the area. I loved how relaxed the environment was and how at home they made me feel right away.

Anyway, onto the actual haircut...I have this horrible tendency to show up with photos of haircuts that my hair just will never do and Michelle was great at talking me through the photos that I had brought with me and explaining what would be the best options for me. She did a great job at interpreting the look and feel that I was going for and then confidently jumped right in. I walked away with a great cut, a few tricks for styling my hair, and great conversation.

I highly recommend Colorbox :)

Back in October, I made an appointment; it was going to be my "first time" with Nancy. A trusted confidante had passed me her name and number, but still, I was nervous.

I called the number, which was jotted down on a Post It (what else?) and got voice mail. I listened carefully, and with butterflies in my belly, left my contact information as directed.

Nancy called me back promptly. She was professional and direct, while still sounding fun and very engaging. She asked what I was into, and I told her. She gave me a range of fees for her services, which were shockingly reasonable.

She said she could accommodate all of my desires the very next week!  I thanked her, and put the date for our rendezvous on my calendar.

When I arrived, Nancy was warm and cheery; she offered me a drink, and sat me down so that we could discuss what I wanted out of this much anticipated encounter.  She took her time, and made me feel quite comfortable.

After a thorough consultation, she showed me a small but efficient changing room, and I took off my top, replacing it with a gown.  I took a deep breath, and stepped back into the main space.

Nancy took it slow and easy... which was perfect for our first time.  I relaxed as she worked on me, and definitely felt a connection... a trust - a result, no doubt of her skillful hands, easy smile, and laid back vibe.

I hadn't been banged so well in years.

See, I have this really gnarly cowlick... right in the middle of my forehead, which makes it nearly impossible for my hair to cooperate - I am cursed with a part that rivals "Alfalfa" from the Little Rascals, despite endless cajoling with brush, dryer, product and many a prayer.

However, Nancy worked with what I have, and didn't make me feel the least bit self-conscious about getting banged again.  I left with an amazing cut, fresh color, and a cooperative fringe of BANGS that made me feel sexy and flirtatious.  I mean, more so than usual.

I just saw Nancy again... and this time went for a much edgier, adventurous style that absolutely included getting banged again!  I haven't had hair this short in over 4 years, but it felt soooooo right and soooooooo good to make the transition with Nancy.

I should also mention some other cool features about Nancy, and the Colorbox in general:

*  Hair clippings are saved and used to make mats that absorb oil (think Exxon Valdez) so that spills can be contained, and wildlife saved.  Check out the poster on the ceiling above the wash and rinse station.

*  Nancy has a commendation from the American Cancer Society, for her outstanding work with Cancer patients.

*  The decor is amusing and blends rock and roll with kitsch and memorabilia... I've never been in a more FUN space that has such a positive energy; that's difficult to find in salons.

*  Last week, Michelle (one of the other stylists) was ordering in soup from the joint across the street - she asked if I wanted in (I think she heard my stummy rumbling) and I was grateful for the offer.  The soup was tasty, and just perfect for an overcast afternoon.

*  They hand out free dog treats when folks  walk by - a considerate and community-centered practice that made me swoon.

*  Nancy also mentioned that if I was in the area and needed a trim, just to call in advance and she'd do it, gratis, between cuts!

Is it a wonder that the Colorbox has a solid 5 star rating?  I'm loving my new look...!  And of course, there's a smile on my face any time I think about getting banged by Nancy.

Yay!
Such a charming, comfortable little spot.
Did someone call it a punk dollhouse? Very appropriate. Just my style.
Not that you have to be punk to feel welcome... but it's very nice to find a place where I do, too.
Nancy rocks.
So easy to talk to, so sweet. Magic.

I've been going to Colorbox off and on for most of the 15 or so years I have lived in San Francisco.  Everyone is super nice and talented.

Since I no longer live nearby, every once in a while I have gotten tired of schlepping to the Mission and get my hair cut elsewhere.

When I get home, my wife is always quick to point out that my hair looked better the time before.

I no longer bother trying anywhere else.

Nancy is a fantastic hair stylist.  I always stress out if I have to find a new person to cut my hair and researched Yelp to find Colorbox.  I was not disappointed.  Nancy did a fantastic job from the photos I showed her and the description of what I liked and didn't like.  The haircut, which allows me to go from spiky to wolverine to slicked back is versatile precise and exactly what I wanted. Flawless victory!

Everyone at the salon is really nice and the atmosphere is fun.  I got an appointment just a couple days out from when I inquired and everything ran on time.  Glorious on all fronts.

I also recommended to salon to a friend of mine and she got a cut from a different stylist there and it was awesome, too.

Oh, and make sure to use their bathroom.  They have the coolest paintings ever in there.

Color, cut. styling NANCY can do it all!!! Best hair Gal ever. Cool, funny, smart & talented. I've had a number of very different styles & colors done by Nancy and everyone of them has totally worked. She listens and gets what you are hoping to do with your hair and then makes it work for you.
The place is adorable, the staff is friendly and fun to be around.

N. & the gals really know how to take care of their clients-from offering beverages to seeing if they need food and they really understand & care what their clients want. New recent chestnut highlights have sent me into the stratosphere (with really soft hair btw) and N. took great lengths to ensure it was what I wanted.

And yes, the music rocks-everything from Iggy Pop to Hawaiian and much more.

Michelle is a riot, and you'll get an excellent haircut if you go with her suggestions (I can only speak for the ladies; most of my male friends prefer Glamorama).  I'd show up with magazine clippings of how I wanted  my hair to look, but she would (nicely) tell me what would work and what wouldn't (to my dismay).  But I always looked good; the photos I like of myself are usually the ones where Michelle has done my hair.  The only negative is that I can't afford her anymore (I think cuts are $50 and upward, and I have long hair).

ColorBox also plays the BEST music I've ever heard in a salon.

One Saturday morning in November, I woke up with the freakish urge to chop off a good 8" of my hair.  I must've called 5-7 reputable salons in the Castro/Noe Valley/Hayes Valley/Lower Haight area for a same-day appointment without any luck (DUH).

Then I thought I'd check for walk-in openings at Color Box and miraculously snagged a newly-canceled spot! I'm convinced that it was all meant to be because I was really satisfied with my cut and with my overall experience. The salon has this funky vibe that, as cheesy as it might sound, makes me feel really empowered and comfortable in my own skin (vs. the snotty, "Throw-up-your-lunch-and-snort-a-line-before-your- appointment" salon scene that I DREAD). Michele is amazing and pays extremely close attention to both the cut that you WANT and the cut that actually WORKS. In my case, she brought the two together and created a style that was just right.

I've been low on funds lately and can't afford the $50-60 cut, but after trying other cheaper alternatives, I think I'm ready to come back.  Michele, if you're reading this, I'll be back real soon, I promise!

First of all, I will say that this poor rating didn't come from poor interpersonal skills on the behalf of Melissa (my stylist).  She was actually very fun to chat with.  And she's great with the shampoo.

What the review does merit such a low star rating is because I took in a couple of pictures of the Sienna Miller bob, and I had wanted to get that look.  I have fine hair that tends to fall kind of flat, so I thought it would be a nice change and would work with my hair type.  The pictures were from various angles, and I figured that anyone who has seen some sort of media in the last year would know what I'm talking about.

What I got though is basically NOT what I asked for, and its a bitch to style on the second day since there's way too much texture to do anything with.   I had an inkling that I was basically going to look like a mushroom when I would try to do this on my own- and guess what, I was right...  Even with Melissa's advice of "overstyle, then understyle".

I was actually happier with my cut from the Paul Mitchell school.  I hate to give such a craptastic review of this place though since it was such a treat to have such a nice stylist, and the cut isn't AWFUL, its just not what I asked for.

So go at your own risk.  Her previous client was a guy who had a great short cut, and I saw how her cuts grew out on the client behind me..  so its a good cut if you're not picky.  But I don't think I'm going to bo back here when I want to change my look.

REGINA IS THE BEST!

I was so excited when Regina returned from art-school in the mid-west to SF! I got the best stylist I've ever had -- back!!  I'm so loyal to Regina that I was willing to go to her house for a cut-n-color. Color Box is a great venue, Nacny and Michelle seem cool, and I've been turning on lots of new friends to Regina @ Color Box.

The truth is that Regina is a gifted stylist. Perhaps her artistic skills map to the styling world, I don't know, but some people you know just by how they grip a pair of scissors and 'snip' if they have talent. She has a great eye, does great color work, and is frankly really cool.

Tired of the same-old same-old and want some new talent touching your precious coiffe, i HIGHLY recommend Regina at Color Box for cut, color and some good saucy convo! What are you waiting for?!

:-)

She's good... really...

Dear Michele,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful note which I received in the mail this morning. I truly apologize for not posting a Yelp review for you sooner; I know our appointment was eight weeks ago, and I should have waited one week after the cut and color (to see how it settled into shape, you know), and then posted my review of your artistry which now rests upon my head.

Alas, I did not. I have been traveling in France and Italy over the last seven weeks, and have not been able to be as technologically connected as I am here in San Francisco, the city with high speed internets around every corner. And so, I apologize for not raving about your skills on Yelp earlier. I hope you did not suffer from my lack of accolades, though I imagine that business is good from all these other rave reviews you've received.

And what accolades I have to give! The first week of my travels I was in Paris. A gentleman who owned a restaurant at which I was dining marveled at my hair color. The deep reds, the textures you were able to create! In my humble way I told him the color was not real, but to this day I wonder if I could have simply let him continue believing that I am truly a redhead.. (though, in all honesty, the carpet has never matched the curtains, if you know what I mean...my hair color is too susceptible to the sunlight). He then invited me to promenade with him on the Champs-Elysees. Ah, Paris!

As of yesterday, I have arrived home, across the pond, safe and sound. My skin is darker from my stay on the beaches of Italy, and my hair is much lighter than when I left. I am afraid I may have bleached out all the beautiful color you so painstakingly applied. However, the other day, I decided to part my hair on the *other* side, and lo and behold: The red and brown highlights you put underneath shone through, tenacious and bold, and I was a renewed woman.

That your cut was able to withstand the test of poor shampoos, lack of conditioner, and inaccessibility to hair dryers and still *POP*, shows what an amazing stylist you are.

Thank you, Michele, for not only a cut and color that can withstand travels, but for playing The Real Kids and the other band from Seattle whose name I can't recall but reminded me of when Sonic Youth were still emerging from the indie rock scene.

Cheers,
Molly

This is a hair salon that totally rocks. Nancy is the tattooed rockabilly chick who drives an antique Dart, Michelle likes polka and used to date a Dead Kennedy, and Nicola is from Engand and has the pictures of her eight-inch Mohikan on the wall to prove it (in case you didn't catch her accent). There's a fourth one that I have never met - they work different days in this tiny salon where everyone is friendly and you get to chat with all the stylists and customers alike.

But don't be fooled by appearances, these guys are knowledgable, friendly, talented and skilled - I have seen a good number of people walk out of here with smile on their face and a new style on their head, vowing to return again. Relax in these gals hands and let them work their magic on you as you listen to the eclectic sounds of punk, rockabilly, or bring-your-own music and you can't inagine a more enjoyable way of getting your do on!

Regina is pretty fucking rad.  I called in the afternoon on a Saturday & she got me in the very same day. Not only did she do a great job on my mop, but the shop itself was AMAZING!!  It's tiny, but made so much larger with the kitschy stuff adorning its interior.  The fact that the owner said, "Listen to Trailer Trash Barbie" & then pushing a button so she can belch (doll, not owner) was priceless.

Oh, and they offered me a beer, nuf said.

My All-time favorite salon with my all-time favorite stylist Michelle.
I have known her and gone to her since her early days at Pink Tarantula.
So happy she has her own business and it reflects her personality and charm!
One of the hardest things to find is a hair salon where the stylist will listen and remember and give you a good opinion too!
Also, they have been in this location and it's great to know they will still be there over time. Once you have found her (them) never let them go. (Lyric)
Great cuts- Great Color- Great conversation.
What more can a girl or guy ask for!

I went because of all the 5 star reviews. Not as great as I was expecting. My stylist was late at opening the salon, so I had to wait at a cafe across the street for 15 minutes after my appointment time.

All I wanted was for my long, one length hair to be given a lot of layers, and to fix up my disaster bangs, and a little color.

My hair, I felt as though I was give little more than a trim, not the layers I had requested. Bangs were fixed, thank goodness, although not perfect, it was not her fault they were so horrible to begin with. The color was great, it still has not faded over a month later.

Lastly, she blow dried my hair straight but did not style it, so I left with a frizzy mop on my head, and it was not until I got home and styled my hair did I actually see what I got. It looked ok, but come on, for nearly $180 after tip for a cut and color, I should at least not have to style my own hair before I can go anywhere else.

I guess its a "safe" salon. You won't leave with anything horrible, but you may not leave with anything great, either. So 3 stars for the good color and fixing my bangs, minus two stars for being late, barely trimming my hair and not styling it before I left.

Another try based on yelp review.

I love it! I love my color.  It's been 1 month and I still love my color.  What a great job!  Michelle even told me what she did 2 tones that are very similar but give my hair a "je ne sais quoi" that totally works. Great color job and reasonably priced!

The hair cut. I guess I expected a hair cut that's styled and shaped specifically for my head and face shape,  but got a basic layered haircut.   It took some suggestions on my part to get what I wanted.   I'm happy though because the color looks so good.

Total cost of cut and color- $110 + tip. I will definitely go back!

Color Box unequivocally rules.  I had been a regular of Michelle's for about a year before my recent move.  As noted in another review I received a really poor cut in Sacramento.  I was going to be back in SF for a weekend so I called Michelle to see if she could fit me in and end my three week streak of never leaving the house without my infamous Dickies hat.

Besides being one of the only people who has ever been able to consistently tame my hair (thick, heavy, dual cow licks...it's kind of a mine field really) and nail it *every* time, Michelle is also an awesome person to talk to.  I've received more out-of-the-way camping ideas and traded more music info with her than I can really comprehend.  She's s just a damn interesting  person as well as a supremely talented stylist.  In the 'fun to talk to' department I have to include Nancy who is tops as well.

I have referred at least 2 people to Michelle that I can think of (1 male, 1 female) and both are now regulars.  In total I know 5 or so people that go to her on and all of them love her, especially the gals that get color work done.

In conclusion:  Color Box rules, Michelle rules and I no longer look like Moe from the three stooges.

I hate to give away my favorite hair secret, but Colorbox is awesome!  I'm a loyal Michelle customer---she is awesome--she's really funny and also does a stellar job on my hair!  I'm a just sit and let the hair expert take the lead kind of girl, and Michelle is great at taking cues from just eyeballing you. You'll also get to listen to  fun new music  and hear silly stories at every appointment.
The salon has cool decor and a very unpretentious atmosphere--whenever you go in you may end up seated next to one of the city's most esteemed doctors or you may be next to a pink haired mission hipster.  In short---it's an awesome salon in a million different ways.  I love it!

I went to Regina a couple of months ago.  And my, did I get one of the best haircut/color combos, ever.  I've been salon hopping for years and yes, at one point in time I found a few that I stuck with for a year or so, until a bad cutting day came along.  Oh the horror!

Well, Regina listens.  She also advises.  She knew what my wavy, thin mop needed.  She gave me a very sassy cut and the compliments kept coming.

Regina rocks!

UPDATE: A year later and I am still loving this place, the people, and the way I feel and look when I leave. Ady is an amazing colorist, not mention an amazing person to chit-chat with.  Everyone here is friendly, fun, and makes me feel welcomed.  Can't get enough of the good good good here!  Everyone I send here comes away happy and pledging allegiance to Color Box and Ady!

Almost two months after some amazing color and a cut, I am still happy.  The hot pink is still vibrant - when it usually fades a couple of weeks into the washing - and the cut is still workable with my stick straight long hair.  Ady took her time and was great to talk with.  She gave me an evening appointment on a holiday and was realistic about what would work with my natural hair.  It was such a great experience and I left feeling so good.    I have lived here for 15 years and have finally found the salon that I will continue going to.

Regina is hands down the best hair stylist I've ever had. Every other hair stylist I've been to has had an agenda for my hair. For some reason I become incredibly inarticulate when I talk about hair. Regina always listens to my somewhat incoherent explanations and accurately interprets my vision for my hair.  She understands that sometimes my hair is wavy and sometimes it is straight. Every haircut she's given me makes my hair look amazing no matter which way I decide to wear it.

Regina also knows how to color hair. I have dark hair and like lighter highlights. Regina ensures that I never go too light or look like a skunk. Also, she is always available for hair advice and has saved me from many hair disasters.

Visiting colorbox is always a blast. I have so much fun swapping crazy going out stories with Regina.

Basically, Regina is the total package: fantastic colorist, amazing stylist, and hilarious conversationalist.

i went to colorbox for the first time today with my mom. regina is AMAZING. she did a great job and even with hard to explain color like me and my million blode examples, she hits it right on. my mom went from blonde to brown and she did a great job of not making it too drastic. shes amazing and im so sad she'll be leaving in a month. but i hear everyone there is amazing as well. great job high five!

I have to write a review on this place because so many people have given it 5 stars. I got my hair cut and colored at Colorbox 4 weeks ago because of all the 5 star reviews. My cut was, chunky and uneven and is still growing out.  The color came out very quickly. I won't be going here again. I give it 3 stars because they were very nice and made me feel welcome.

Two words: Regina rocks!!  She is a fabulous stylist, cool, friendly, and always responds quickly when I call her and leave a voicemail saying "um, is there any chance I could come in this weekend?"  I am always thrilled with the cuts and colors she gives me.  Also, the salon itself is filled with all kinds of cool retro stuff to keep you entertained.  Color Box is fun!

just had my 2nd cut/color at colorbox over the weekend.  michelle is great to work with.  the first time, she chopped off 8" of my hair and gave me some subtle new color pieces.  i realized my hair was getting shaggy, then looked at the calendar and realized it'd been 7 weeks, so i gave her a call - she was great about fitting me in before her vacation (have a great road trip!)

this time, i asked for "more" - both in piece-iness of the cut and vibrancy of the color.  wow, i'm happy with the 2nd result.  i was happy with the 1st one too, but this one is getting me (lots of ) compliments :) check out my new yelp profile pic!

michelle has also been great about offering to do a trim of the cut or tone adjustment of the color if i needed it between appointments.  though i haven't taken her up on this, its super reassuring to know that the option is there.

the space is chill and funky. i shared my saturday morning with someone getting married and was offered champagne.  and in a high-priced town, its reasonable.  not super reasonable, but definitely not expensive.  ~$150 per visit for me.

i think i just found a new addiction - i scheduled my next visit before i left this time. yay for michelle!

I was pretty nervous about going to the Colorbox - I had just gotten to the Bay Area, had never been there, had made an appointment on a whim, and had never even been to a salon before.

When I left Louisville to come out here, I was given, as a gift from a friend, a fauxhawk with a colorful streak in the back, a.k.a. a purple rat tail. At the time that I went to the Colorbox, the fauxhawk wouldn't stand up anymore and the color had all faded out of the back. I was in dire straits (of the hair variety).

I was paired with Regina, who apparently takes many of the new clients. Like others have said, the first thing you notice is how intimate the space is. I was made to feel comfortable, was offered drinks and chit-chat while I waited for Regina to be available. The cut was pleasant and worked perfectly. While we waited for the new pink color to set in, we sat outside and smoked, chit-chatted, watched the packed Muni cars go by.

A very cool place, a killer hair cut and color, and a fun experience for someone who's new to both having a hair style and being in San Francisco. Easily recommendable. Oh, and Regina rocks. Hi, Regina. ;)

I've been to Regina and now to Nancy at this tiny-yet-fun salon in the Mission. Both do an awesome job of color and cut- the prices are right, the conversation is colorful and they aren't product pushers, which is a rarity! They are really flexible with getting me in for an appointment, even at the last minute and i'm always happy with my color and cut when i leave.

for a non-pretentious, affordable salon experience, Colorbox is my go-to!

(and it doesn't hurt that they are across the street from Dolores Park!)
