I needed 3 scans and 3 reprints PRONTO, and this place totally delivered. The scans and prints turned out to be clean. May be not minuscule clean but pretty clean compared to other photo labs I've been.

Tim's da man. He does good quality work. Unfortunately they will be closing after 17 years in Berkeley! But the good news is they're moving to San Francisco. Parking will be a b!tch (not that it isn't already) but at least they will still be around and I don't mind going to the city.

Tim is awesome. He recognizes me by name, and is always very helpful. He is more than happy to redo photos when I am not happy with the color, but that hardly happens now that he knows my tastes. He is consistent, efficient and very knowledgeable. He really knows his stuff. The only drawback to this place is that it is in dirty downtown Berkeley, but it's worth dancing around the pigeon crap and people asking you for money to get your pictures done right.

I am a professional photographer who uses Tim exclusively for my color photos.  (even when I was living in SF) I started working with Tim 10 years ago and he has always done an outstanding job: he has a great sense of color, is perfectionistic, and has a good turn-around time.  Not to mention he is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. I like that I know I will get consistent results. A lot of other pro labs have a large staff and therefore variant ideas of correct color calibration or else they just run your images through a machine without even looking at them.   Not at Color Express because  Tim is practically a one man show).   I have recommended him to friends, clients, and photographers alike.
He's the best

A friend T and I have been going here for the past five years or so.  Our friend Tim, the owner, has been helping us out and does a fatantastic job on our prints.  All the medium format prints I have up on my flickr site were printed by him.  We continue to go back to him over the years cuz he's personable (well, you do have to get to know him), very professional, and has a good eye for things and is willing to reprint if you are unhappy and picky...in that case, if you get to know him, you can make sure to give him your preference (mine is one stop darker than he usually prints) and he has no problem doing it for you.  What else can I say?  Good man, good prints, great prices....'nuff said. =)

Went in here yesterday to get my passport photos. Service was quick and easy. $8.70 for 2 photos and 5 minutes later I was on BART.

I am a professional photographer who's been going to Color Express for about 5 years. Tim (owner) does a great job and is very detail oriented. He's very friendly and kind as well as professional. I send all my friend his way. He still handles film (which I still use) and also does digital.  Can't say enough good things. I'll keep going there for years to come.
