I went to see Jim today.  He was great!  I have been dying my hair with Garnier for months when it stopped working on my roots.  Jim fixed it in a flash with his European hair color treatment.  It looks gorgeous and natural and no stinky smell!  He will take his time with you and make you feel comfortable.  He guarantees his work!  Just a phenomenal guy!  Been in the business for over 30 years.  His fees are beyond reasonable, and he charged me $10 less than he quoted me and didn't charge me for a trim.  I will be going back!

Box hair dye: it happens to the best of us. The last 4 years or so I have been using box dye (albeit the quasi-fancy stuff from the health food store), which is convenient and affordable, but also one-dimensional and overly damaging. Once I settled in San Diego earlier this year I was determined to get my hair in shape, both color and health-wise, so I started looking for someone well versed in color correction. Thankfully I found Jim Johnson: his 30 years experience with hair and use of European dyes (only 2% ammonia for less damage) has helped give me back a great head of hair! He is also unique in that he still uses a "cap" instead of foil for hi-lites. This makes the service faster and more affordable, but without sacrificing quality (he has a section on his website that explains it in more detail). If you're unsatisfied with your color either from a box dye or a salon, I'd highly recommend Jim for color correction.
