I stayed here for a wedding this past Saturday night.  I was impressed.  The rooms were very nice.  The hotel had nice facilities all around, and the bar was a good time with a live band.  I believe there were guests from at least 2 other weddings also staying at the hotel, so it was definitely a party atomosphere.  I imagine it's a bit more tame during the winter or during the week.

Also, the hotel is very easy to find off the highway, and reasonably priced.  I would definitely recommed it, and would stay again for sure.

The Colonial Hotel in Gardner is a decent place to stay when visiting Worcester County. I've had the pleasure of spending a few weeks here visiting family and stayed in one of their two suites. The room was clean, comfortable and recently redone. The restaurant and adjacent bar were decent for a town of this size. Unlike the previous yelper, wireless was free for me and they do have a public terminal for use upstairs that is free of charge. Only request is that the bathrooms need exhaust fans to vent out the steam!

I've now stayed in this hotel for two completely unrelated weddings over the last three years.  This was very surprising to us when we pulled into the parking lot this past Friday, as we apparently now have enough friends getting married across the country that we're repeating hotels.

The Good:
The rooms are nice, with large, reasonably comfortable beds.
The local cover band playing on Saturday night in the bar was shockingly good.

The Bad:
The bathroom sinks are weirdly lacking in shelf space.
The wireless internet access costs money, which is sad.

The Ugly:
Avoid the weekend breakfast buffet, or at least go in recognizing you're going to get sub-par fare which will probably make your tummy hurt.  The coffee in particular is revolting, awful even by diner standards.  We saw employees walking in, passing by the free coffee, carrying Dunkin Donuts cups.

For a wedding, this is a good place to book people, as everyone will need to stay at this hotel, and there's no reason to leave, because as far as we could tell, there's virtually nowhere nearby to go, so drunkenness and driving don't need to mix.
