Colonial Candies
3 reviews for Colonial Candies
I am basing this review on milk and dark chocolate, but first... Sugar Road? Adorable location.
Okay... the dark chocolate was too hard and not nearly rich enough. And the milk chocolate seemed a little stale.
These were boxed chocolates so I don't know how long they were sitting in the box but they were recently purchased so if they were sitting in the box for a long time, that's the shops fault.
I was not in the shop and didn't purchase the chocolates myself, so I cannot comment on ambience and service, but the shop IS conveniently located off of I-495.
Good ice cream and fun Sandae bar but overpriced. Can get a great quality ice cream/sundae at other places for less money.
Quality of the chocolate I would rate as average but also overpriced.
A candy/ice cream lover's dream!!! The sundae bar is the coolest way to eat ice cream. You order a 1, 2, or 3 scoop ice cream in a bowl, then there is a buffet bar that is probalby 25 feet long of every kind of topping you can imagine. Homemade soft, warm chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, dark chocolate sauces, then apples, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, and other fruits in syrup, there are walnuts in a maple syrup, creamy peanut butter, crushed M&Ms, heath bar, sprinkles, and every other type of topping you can imagine! Soooo delicious! The store offers lots of gift items, as well as individual candies, such as chocolates formed into footballs, bears, and other items on a stick for $.95. There are picnic tables outside under pine trees to sit on if it's a nice day.
