5 reviews for Colney Delicatessen
The staff is so sweet. Beer selection is out of this world. Any place where I can get Gulden Draak, St. Bernards, and seasonal microbrews is A+.
Also, their munchies selection is pretty rad. You can have regular chips or Pocky with your ice cold beverage of choice.

Yes! A good beer store downtown, near Rittenhouse! Woo! I have no clue about the food here but I do know that they have quite an impressive beer collection. The prices are as good as it gets (for philly). Lots of great microbrews and all of them available cold. Next time you're doing some park sitting/ people watching/ dog walking in Rittenhouse, stop in and grab a 6'er.

Cash only. And they don't list their prices. A perfect storm type combination which leads to me putting my purchases back on the shelf when I don't have enough cash and going to the deli around the corner that takes credit, despite its inferior selection.
Great variety, but useless for a person who relies primarily on plastic.
The sign outside advertises new management and based on the previous reviewers tale of filth I believe it, clean as a whistle on the inside now. I certainly didn't examine their deli offerings, didn't even see a sign or sandwich board on display, their rows of beer-filled coolers take center stage in this little beer cave. Beer snobs will enjoy the wide variety of American craft brew and foreign gems; many Belgians that you don't normally see in to-go stores (Foodery excluded of course). Prices only okay, I've seen better but considering the damned PLCB and their puritanical regulations, I'll pay for the variety ($7.25 for an 11.2 oz. Delirium Noël, $5 and change for a Duvel).

With its 1950s neon sign and classic storefront, I'm always partial to this deli.
Inside is a disappointment. It's dirty, dingy, and the selections leave plenty to be desired. Specifically, you won't want a sandwich, judging by the looks of the meat case, or the fact that Primo is right next door. Otherwise, you've got your basic varieties of chips, candy bars, soda, and the usual suspects. However, they do have fairly priced beer in ice-cold coolers. I like that. There are several delis/beer-slangers within a one-block radius, but with its friendly staff and again, that neon sign, this will always be my store of choice.
