Category: Auto Repair [Edit]
Neighborhoods: Chicago Lawn, Marquette Parkfrom my only experience there, i have reason to believe that they are not operating above bar. the interested may read on:
i had elected collision revision to repair a 2000 audi a4 after it had been hit squarely on the passenger side front wheel by a slow driver driving perpendicular to me (this is to give you an idea of the damage).
the car had passed all manner of inspection by audi a month before the accident at a yearly maintenance appointment, particularly suspension and fundamental support. collision revision's estimate was a week for repair. total time in possession of the car was one month. they had never initiated a call in the first three weeks to tell me how progress was making. i had periodically made status calls and was given the onion/layers of complexity analogy/line. no mention was made of unavailability of parts.
about three weeks in, they call me informing me that the frame is bent, but not in a way that would have been result of the accident. they released the car back to me with a waiver of liability saying the car was unsafe to drive.
that audi found the frame up to standard prior to the accident, there was no service-side communication to me for three weeks, and the presence of a waiver at pick-up time lead me to believe that collision revision was responsible for additional car damage and did not want to file a claim with their own insurance company to fix it.

I went to a Collision Revision in Oak Forest, IL. I was in a freak of nature accident and my car received substantial damage, but it was repairable.
I agree with the above posting about this organization, not even meeting par; I make this comment in relation to both workmanship and also customer service.
Regarding workmanship, when I picked up my car 3 weeks after dropping it off (was supposed to be ready in 2 weeks,) I found that several scratches were overlooked or put back into paint; I believe on either account that they were careless and have zero quality control. I brought this to their attention and they were gracious enough to work on it again; they were unable to satisfactorily resolve the issue. I blame them for the first occasion, and myself for the second; I should have known better to think they were outfitted to see their shortcomings.
Regarding customer service. When I picked up my car the first time, no one was there to even transfer custody of my vehicle. I mean literally that a porter brought the car out, and left the key in the door and walked away. There was no one with whom I could discuss the above quality concerns, or to even find out what had been done (and more importantly what had not been done, i.e. finishing the job and inspecting it.) Now as I said before they were gracious enough to use my time to work on the car again, and Stan was the point of contact for this procedure. For all of their shortcomings as a bodyshop and a point of contact for customers, you ought to go into the place to see Stan. He is truly a history lesson on the early stages of the evolution of man. I say no more, just enjoy the conversation, and his attempt at the use of the English language. Again, first time was their fault, the second was mine.
In writing this, I feel I have given them too much credit with 1 star; I wish there was an option to give no stars.
