We played the Sunday before the Fourth of July and the course was relatively quiet. The people out there seemed to be beginners as we were so there was no real rush getting around the course.

Honestly, the course isn't that great but if live around it or our just a beginner who needs to get some miles on your clubs, you can't really beat the price.

The course has some great views but the downside, at least being a beginner, is there are a lot of elevation changes  so sometimes it's hard to keep track of your ball as it goes over one hill and down another. But this feature also makes the course beautiful.

All in all, not a bad round.

This course is priced very low and theres a reason for it, the course is absolutely beat to hell. The greens were not in very good shape at all and I had to pick up on a few holes rather then putt on them.

The layout of the holes is fine and if they just spent some time fixing the greens this could be an ok place to play. Until then, save your money and just spend 10 bucks more to play on a decent course.

I am always optimistic when I play a course for the first time, hopeful it will be a place I want to play over and over.  Unfortunately Collins Hill Golf Club is not that place.

Upon arrival I was pleased to see a very nice clubhouse and large parking lot.  Checking in was easy and the staff friendly.  I booked it through http://LMTT.com and the rate was fantastic. I hit the driving range to warm up and that was my first inkling that the course was not going to be as nice as the clubhouse.

On the second hole is when it started going downhill.  The third hole plays parallel to the second in the opposite direction. A kid on that hole smacked his ball right into my friends cart from about 20 feet away!  There are quite a few holes where tee boxes are way too close to the greens of another hole.

The overall condition of the course is lacking.  Yard markers were non-existent outside of the standard 100, 150 and 200 yard markers. The par 3's had no markers so it was a guessing game as what to hit.

The cart lady was always around on the course and the staff in the bar were very nice.  The place has the potential to be better but comes up short.

If I lived in the area I would probably return but I definitely am not making the 35 minute drive again.  If you are in the area give it a shot but don't go out of you way.
