My dog rescue, One Tail at a Time, works with Lisa Collins on a regular basis. She donates free lessons to our foster dogs that are in boarding and gives free phone sessions to our foster homes. Besides the fact that she is incredibly generous with her time and expertise, Lisa is a fabulous dog trainer. She finds a way to work with each of our foster dogs who have a large variety of behavioral problems. She also works with the foster or adoptive homes to make sure that they know how to work with their dog, which is an invaluable tool for out adopters.
We highly recommend Lisa!
We have a 5 year old dog that has reactive behavior. She would bark and growl at other dogs when we were on walks. Because she is older we were worried that it was a lost cause. But we called Lisa based on all the great reviews on yelp. Lisa is working with our dog one on one to help address the problem. She has given us constructive easy to follow training guidelines that have already made a difference. She was also able to explain the problem in our dogs behavior in a way that made sense. I would highly recommend her for all age dogs with problem behaviors.
Collins Canine is great. When I first signed up for the Puppy Kindergarden class Lisa was wonderful. She managed to get me into the class that was full and I had missed the first class with just the owners. Our trainer, Erik, is fabulous. He is so great with the puppies and really knows how to break down the skills so everyone can understand how to train their dogs. He is also able to adapt to the various personalities, breeds and needs of each puppy. Additionally, he is willing to help after class when I have questions that were specific to my dog. I would highly highly recommend Collins Canine. You get very professional and thorough dog training for an incredibly reasonable cost. Thanks Erik for all your hard work!!
I am currently enrolled in a puppy obedience class through Collins Canine. I am extremely satisfied with the course. I had taken a previous course at a different school, but I did not think it was as good. They are very thorough and explain everything so it is easy to teach. The only negative about the course it the location. It's at Bow Wow Lounge in Wrigleyville. The facilities are not all that great and it smells horrible of urine and dogs. When Collins was notified about this, she immediately contacted the owner of Bow Wow and they are working on rectifying the issue. The instructor that I have is Erik Weitz and he is great!
