I went to Collie's after reading the yelp reviews and calling and getting quotes from Collie's and my usual dealership. I spoke with Denise who co-owns the shop w/her hubby. She quoted me $250 for a major scheduled service whereas my dealership said it would be $400! Because Collie's is a Mercedes specialist, I asked if they did VW's (I have a passat) and Denise said they did (I also saw a VW parked there when I got there) so I felt ok with my car in their hands.
I called on Tuesday and they got me an appointment that Thursday, with a free loaner! My dealership appointment would've been at least a week later without a loaner. I dropped my car off at 11:30. It was a quick drop off and Denise even printed out a complete list of what they were going to do on my car.
I got a call around 4:30 and Denise said that my maintenance was done, but they noticed my rear breaks were really worn down. They offered to replace the pads for about $170, an average price. I called back around 4:45 or 4:50 and said if they could finish it in time so that I could have my car back that night to go ahead. Denise said they would definitely try to get it done in time, and said that I could even pick up my car at 5:45 when they technically close at 5:30. I got there a little before 6 and chatted with Denise as I did the paper work. I was super thankful that they were staying open a little late to work on my car so I could take it home that night but she and I think it was her hubby apologized to me that it was taking a few minutes extra!
The price was spot-on, Denise was super nice; they felt really honest and reasonable and knew what they were doing. I will definitely go back for any future work that has to be done on my car.
(Oh, and as a girl, I felt it was better to bring along a guy friend when dropping off my car but they were so honest and b/c Denise was a co-owner, I picked up my car alone and I feel just fine going by myself next time.)
My friends own this business and I'm not writing this because I know them (well, ok maybe)...But because they are an EXCELLENT automotive business. Friendly, fairly priced and honest. Darren is an experienced mechanic who will go above and beyond to give his customers a reasonable rate.
Go check them out next time you vehicle needs repairs! You won't be disappointed!!
collie autoworks is my first ever mechanic. boy, am i lucky. these people (a couple own it and work there) are really nice, smart and accommodating. they got me in right away and four hours later, all was well with the little blue VW. PLUS, they gave me a loaner car for the interim FREE OF CHARGE. sweet! oh, did i mention it was a mercedes? very nice.
i'll definitely go back to them for any issues. pricing seemed really good. not that i have a lot of experience, but my car was fixed for $84. double digits seems like a bargain for peace of mind.
Darren & Denise are great people. I professionally refer them many Mercedes customers and they take good care of them. I also collaborate with Darren on technical issues and he is highly knowledgeable and professional.
You can go wrong using them for any Mercedes Benz repair work.

How would you like to finally go to mechanic that you can completely trust and who even seems to be looking out for you and your own best interests while keeping his/her pocket book aside?
It would seem impossible to find such a relationship with an auto shop but I have 100% faith that it exists here. Truth!
I have a Mercedes that Collie Autoworks has worked on several times and each and every time they have helped me find ways to save money without me even prying for information. They've helped me track down the cheapest prices for parts making all the necessary phone calls and kept me abreast of every last detail. There is never a hazy experience. Every time I've left their shop I left feeling high and mighty because of the confidence I have in knowing I got the best deal possible and the most honest and professional care put into my car possible. It's like a strange uplifting experience - you must try it.
Not only is the shop top notch but so are the owners as people. Sadly, the world is lacking high quality people, but the owners here seem to be a great couple with refreshing personalities that clearly spills right over into their business.
I'd give them 10 stars if I could, but I guess five is the limit.
If you want to finally get taken care go to collie!
