20 reviews for College Pizza
Standard Pizza Shop. Nothing special. At least it is clean with an open kitchen.
The pizza dough is a bit thicker than normal (about 1/2 inch) and is soft a doughy. It is decent pizza. Looks like this review is as interesting and special as their food.
The cheese sticks are good, and standard.
the people who work here are extremely nice and polite. It is a nice change of pace, and fits with the neighborhood feel of the Fens.
Great people topped with pretty awesome spur of the moment food. My boyfriend and I are addicted to the wraps, the chicken salad and I have to admit I've ordered wings several times at 1 in the morning.
But, I really can't get enough of the grilled chicken salad. Not only is the salad huge and the grilled chicken filled with flavor (I am so sick of chicken salads with taste-less chicken thrown on top).... they give you an empty wrap that is delicious with the salad inside.
I can't say much for the pizza- but it's always my #1 choice for late night munchies.
For a place with pizza in the name I'm not a fan of the pizza at all. However, I'm a fan of everything else I've tried here. I'm a huge fan of the steak tip roll up and the seasoned curly fries are also very good. Besides the pizza the only other negative is a lack of dessert options (they have prepackaged cookies and brownies). It seems like every small locally own sub / pizza shops offer cheese cake, chocolate cake, tiramisu, etc but College Pizza doesn't have any of those. Again it's a small point, but when I'm fiendin' for something sweet I end up needing to make two stops.
Finding a good pizza place is the single most important task ahead of you in a new apartment, and i dearly wanted College Pizza to be it. More so after finding that they had a flag of a Turkish soccer team hanging, which is cool and obscure (the owner is a Fenerbahçe fan). Unfortunately, the pizza is mediocre, the toppings are insufficient and of poor quality, and the overall result is predictably weak. The only good news is that it's pretty cheap for pizza. So the search continues.
The pizza is not great. The dough tasted funny. And the guy who delivered it was not a very pleasant person. For all of the pizza/sub shops around Kenmore/Fenway, you can definitely do better than this.
Good pizza, curly fries and calzones. The guys there are real nice, especially if you are a regular. While your waiting, they always have a game on and a new copy of the weekly digg on the shelf at the door. On a few occasions they have hooked us up with a pizza for the cost of a few slices. Best pizza in the Fenway area for sure. If you wanna get a sub, check out the shop next door.
If you have a choice, don't go here. I don't think I've had anything worthwhile from this place. I would say it's your typical hole in the wall pizza place, but there is usually something at these places that tastes good. I've tried a few items from here since I live few doors down (cheeseburger, pizza, couple of different subs, gyro, fries to name a few). The cheeseburger was dry, the pizza was old, the subs weren't fresh and fell apart, the gyro was dry and fell apart, and the fries were cold and dry. A plus though is that this place is open late, the people are really nice, and if it's midnight and you just want to eat something, this is a good choice if you are nearby.
Nice people, and good food quick.
We go here far too often, but how can we resist - the subs and salads are great - and I have never been disappointed by a meal here. I personally don't like the pizza - it's a little greasy for my taste, and I prefer "NY style" pizza.
The cooks are really sweet and friendly, although they tease us for being stuck in a menu rut! My absolute favorite is the greek salad with chicken and my husband loves the chicken parm sub, or the Italian sub. The prices are reasonable and I definitely get 2 meals out of the salad!
I don't eat pizza very often, but I do crave it like crazy once in a while which is what happened yesterday. I thought I remembered eating here before, maybe it was too long ago for me to remember. I've been living in Fenway for 2 years now, so this place is convenient.
But its good too! Prices are pretty typical and expected. Something about the crust... yum yum. Crispy with just enough doughy goodness. :D If you want pizza, you must try this place immediately. My fav: mushroom, pepperoni, jalepenoooo.
I've got to be honest. There is only one thing I get here. Its the Seasoned curly fries. They are SOO damn good!!! I really haven't tried much of their other food so I couldn't tell you if it's good or bad. Most of my friends seem to like it. I haven't even tried their pizza yet, but whoever you are, the next time you go here do yourself a favor and get an order of curly fries.
I only ate here once recently, and I just had the pizza. I got a four-way pizza, and had it takeout. I was lucky and got there right when the pizza came out of the oven. 12 dollars for a large. Enough for two people. Hit the spot.
If you want a decent-quantity decent-quality food, this is the place to go. I'm pretty sure it's probably more worth your money to go to rod-dee or el pelon on peterborough though. Sorry, college pizza
Regardless, it's family-run, and they're nice people. Give it a shot
A small and quiet local spot for Fenway residents, but nothing to write home about. I grabbed food here whenever I was too lazy to cook but too cheap to order from Umi, Brown Sugar, etc.
The help is generally pretty friendly, especially when you come in often enough for them to recognize you. I typically grabbed a cheeseburger deal, but it wasn't anything special. They did have really good chicken and steak tips. The salad they added had a really bitter dressing which I hated.
I never had the pizza, but a friend of mine did and he said it wasn't great. He also said he wasn't allowed to get just a slice, which I found rather odd because I've definitely seen people buy slices of pizza. He might have been demanding about it, or perhaps he ordered at the wrong time of day.
I've never eaten here, but the place is almost usually completely empty. It's more of a takeout joint or a place to grab a snack/a meal if you're in dire straits.
The pizza here is pretty average for this city, but you won't find a college area pizza place with friendlier service. If you are a regular the owner is sure to remember you and says hello when he sees you in the neighborhood. Their steak subs are actually the best thing on the menu, especially the steak tip sandwich, they aren't open as late as some other pizza places, but all of the restaurants in this neighborhood are closed my midnight anyway.
It's cheap, fast, and friendly. What more could you want?
This little family run joint has fantastic sandwiches. Even the small is a large and they are happy to make your very own picky combination. Mine is grilled chicken, onions and mushrooms w/salt, pepper and oregano - may be a little oil if I've stayed out of the cookie jar that week.
My husband has this insanely complicated vegetarian mess that he puts together. I won't even go in there and try to order it for him - but it's yummy and they don't mind a bit.

Havent tried the pizza. The sandwiches are good. The falafel isnt bad but not excellent either. We just moved to this area and it fast and convenient takeout. Overall good standard italian/burger takeout when you need it.
The pizza here is nothing to write home about. The subs and appetizers on the other hand are pretty good. This is definitely the type of place to get delivery or take out. The service is very friendly.
I give them 4 stars because they make the best calzones in town. My bf is a pizza guy, though, and doesn't think much of their actual pizza. They're right around the corner from us and if I were a rich gal (and one with hyperactive metabolism) I would get a calzone for at least half of my meals. Not to mention that they're so big that they keep for another whole meal (college student's dream), and they reheat nicely when you do it in the oven. Overall, it ain't gourmet, but it's nice greasy cheesy fun at a reasonable price...for Boston...
The pizza here is really cheap and tastes ok. The place is small and filled with uncomfortable booths, so it's best for take-outs. Nothing to go out of the way for unless you happen to be very hungry and in the area.
If you are already in Fenway and in the mood for a slice come here. They're not overly big or tasty but they are cheap and not bad. The sandwiches that I've had have been pretty good.
This place has great subs. The pizza is ok, but not great. If you're picky about your pies, stick to the sandwiches! The service is efficient and friendly. I wouldn't travel across town to eat here (especially because the atmosphere is non-existent), but if you live in the Fenway neighborhood, it's a good local spot.
