Review from Ben R.
Portland, OR
On my last visit to eastern Idaho, I had a few opportunities to try espresso beverages from places other than Starbucks and I must say, the fact that College Market has *ONE* size of cappuccino and makes the drink correctly says something.
I've always been bothered that their 'normal' cups are styrofoam. What's with that, owners? I would think they could price an eco-friendly compostable paper or at least a generic paper cup at this point.
Service was friendly as always and I had the best espresso beverage of my entire trip. I was glad it was in a china 'for here' cup instead of the styrofoam, though.
They do take credit and debit cards, but charge a convenience fee so be warned! -

Filled up on some great espresso Breve here. This place was low key/ no frilled coffee house filled with students & local. The cold drinks came in nice plastic eco cups but the hot drinks were in styrofoam cups...huh?

Not a bookstore, but seemed like a nice coffee shop.
I was checking out the local bookstores and ended up here expecting, well, a bookstore. There was one very small shelf of what looked like books, but the place is definitely not a bookstore. Instead, it's one of your university-coffee-shop type of places (the university is just a couple of blocks away). Seemed nice. It's pretty big inside, and there was a good crowd of people hanging out. -

This place is hip. Right near the college with good coffee and great conversation from the broad mix of clients. The is a go to place when in Pocatello! Go and you will see too!

Best Coffee Place in Pocatello by far!
I no longer live in Pocatello, but when I come to visit(at least 3x a year) this is one of my must haves!
I love to get the Soy Matte Latte. I REALLY love that the Barristas will let me add honey to the bottom of my cup before the pour my lovely drink :)
The College Market has a great chill environment with lots of lovely people. I was thrilled to see that they now accept credit/debit cards! Yahoo. I will echo everyone elses sentiments that the closing time is MUCH too early :( Last time in town I need coffee around 9pm...My 1st choice College Market-Closed...2nd Starbucks drive thru-CLOSED, so I headed to Mocha Madness...its was gross...worst coffee I've ever gotten :( -

Sorry to be a downer. First, the to go cups are styrofoam. Bleh! What's up with that? (Coffee tastes terrible from a stryofoam cup.) Second, the water for tea is tepid at best. (Why is it so hard to boil water for tea?) Third, the black coffee (medium roast) was just ok. Maybe three star coffee. Overall, a big disappointment. I was just driving through so didn't have time to ckeck out other coffee in town. Assume you can do better.

Pocatello, ID
Great service, cozy atmosphere, top quality. You won't find a better café in Pocatello! Very "local" oriented. Arts and crafts along with some delicious muffins handmade right here in Pocatello.
Pros: Free Wi-Fi, daily drink specials, comfortable seating, skilled baristas, locals' dive.
Cons: Early closing times. -

This is one of the few non-Starbucks coffee spots in southeastern Idaho. Its just kiddy-corner to ISU, where I used to visit the campus while I was in high school. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the baristas are friendly, funny, and generally awesome. The coffee is pretty good for Idaho too, although the last mate soy latte I ordered was just sort of ok, but so far I've only been to one coffee spot on Earth that has actually been able to do it well (Solo Cafe - Tempe AZ). There are always lots of seats available, and there is even a special place for kids to hang out in, with various toys and such for the little ones. There's a great selection of reading material available for grown-ups too if using the free wifi on your laptop doesn't suit your fancy. The down side though is that it closes fairly early, but that's basically the case for just about everything in Pocatello.
