What a charming little boutique store in Sunny Potrero! This store carries a nice selection of jewelry by local artists along with vintage/found alphabets, numbers, and other great accessories! I love how they use old file cabinets to place their jewelry collection inside. Each drawer is lined with fabric or some cute paper with jewelry laid on top. Its so fun to open every drawer in that store!

I also love how they have products in all price ranges. Some items for sale are pricey, but others are totally affordable. There is also some vintage furniture for sale, which are always at a great price. I currently love their little found cameras that are on display and for sale.

Great collection of unique items for sale!

Cute little shop with some vintage finds, and jewelry and some locally made soaps and lotions with SF names, like Sutro Baths, Pacific Heights, etc.  Lovely scents.  Have purchased a few as gifts.

One of my favorite streets in SF.

Collage Gallery has a FABULOUS selection of vintage purses (they carry a lot of 1980's Dooney and Burke and Coach, in particular) that are in great condition and are reasonably priced. The clothing selection seems to have shifted into higher-end, plainer vintage clothing that I don't find as interesting as the range they had a few years ago...but still, they sell good quality vintage, plus some pretty neat locally designed new clothing and jewelry. While some items are a bit expensive, the store is really worth checking out--especially if you are looking for a new purse!

I went to Collage Gallery after getting the Scoutmob for 50% off.  Lets just say their endless array of oddities and antiques, collectibles and trinkets is great to say the least.  My wife fell in love with several of the things she found there. We ended up buying some things and deciding we'd come back again really soon.
It is a nice little store, the service is very friendly and quick.  The things inside range greatly in price, but it is all for a good cause.  Some of it can be rather expensive, though.
I'd go again.  A cute little shop!

I love exploring quirky boutiques wherever I go - SF, LA, NYC, London, Paris, Barcelona...you get the picture.  The reason behind this is because every time I enter one of these little stores, I feel like one of the characters from C.S. Lewis' characters from the Chronicles of Narnia.  You know, when they enter the closet and are in a completely new world?  Yeah, that's how I feel.

I checked out reviews of the store and overall people raved about the place.  It is divided into two stores: one for clothing and one for accessories and home furnishings.  I, for one, was not impressed with the clothing store - TOTALLY NOT MY STYLE.  I immediately left and went straight to the accessories store.  Hallelujah and score!

Everything in here was a throwback to another time period and I felt like a little kid again, playing dress up with all the beautiful, antique jewelry.  I ended up buying a cute ring made out of an old typewriter key (a "C" of course ;))

I love how they support a lot of local jewelry designers!

I could honestly stay in here for hours playing dress up and searching through all the drawers of jewelry. I think you should too.

Looking for vintage wall letters and numbers? Collage may have the best collection of wall letters in the city. You'll find different fonts and sizes made from wood, chrome (from automobiles), brass, plastic, and more. The owner of Collage is, fittingly, a collage artist, who scours flea markets for wall letters and numbers, vintage cameras, vintage flashlights, old keys, etc.

Another great find was the collection of vintage electric wall clocks. They've been refurbished and come with a 1 year warranty.

You'll definitely find unique gifts with character here. Collage carries items made by local artists. The jewelry is mostly new but some of the artists use vintage buttons, typewriter keys, watch faces, lockets, poker chips, Scrabble pieces, wood printing press blocks, etc. I didn't see any piece over $100. The jewelry has a delicate quality with gemstones, pearls, etc. Some of the necklaces featured silver twigs. The purses are made by local artists as well.

The shop looks small because it's packed; the shelves, cabinets, tables and bins are crammed with purses, candles, mini statues, drinking glasses, French style enamel plaques, silk scarves, purse hooks, books, baby booties, greeting cards, candles, candle holders, hairpins, and jewelry galore.

Don't forget to look in all the drawers (all of them) when you're there. It's open 7 days a week with longer hours during the holiday shopping season.

    I want a boyfriend.
I want a boyfriend that wears shirts with French link cuffs.
I want to be able to buy the cuff links made from antique typewriter keys for a boyfriend who wears shirts with French link cuffs.

While this store can't supply the boyfriend it can supply loads of items, like gorgeous cuff links made from typewriter keys, that are totally awesome and unique. They've got antique cameras, loads of jewelry made by local artisans, letters from old signs and old printing press type. Most of the furniture that items are displayed on are for sale too! Need the time? check out their selection of working antique clocks. In addition to having an awesome selection it's also great to get ideas for diy projects and home decor. The owner is super helpful and as icing on the cake, Collage is open 7 days a week with evening hours that the other boutiques in the area don't have.

As the old joke punch line goes - It's a knick knack paddy whack, give the frog a loan!

I'm a guy with an "occasional" retail therapy bug.  And although Collage doesn't really carry a lot that i'm usually interested in (except a gift or 2), it is fun to look in all the nooks and crannies (including drawers) in this creative and compact store to see what's here.  There is lots of unusual and cool art work, jewelry, antique-y stuff, and letters!   The woman who maybe is the the owner was helpful, knowledgable, and not at all pushy.

Wow! I just LOVE this little store!

The fact that I have my business nearby is both good & bad....GOOD in that I can just whip in and get some little treasure as a gift for (me...hee hee) or a friend... BAD in that it is too close for comfort to try & not spend any $ every time I walk by... it's like the Gary Larson cartoon where the large woman in front of the candy store is being sucked in by a huge hurricane from within the store... the only thing that is keeping her out is her holding onto a parking meter while her body is flying in the wind! Well, that's me when I walk by Collage.

You just want to check EVERYTHING out... Fun energy... lovely things... something for all!

Friend and I stumbled upon the gem of this store after church on a Sunday.  Wow!!! Can I say, feast for my eyes?

It's got everything glinting and shimmering.  Bracelets, earrings, necklaces of all kinds, all feminine and delicate.  Best of all, all the jewelry are made by local women artists.

The store has been around for 17 years.  The owner is an artist and collage maker herself, she also offers collage making classes - for about $105, you can take a 5 hour class on how to make authentic collages on canvases, all supplies included!  I'll definitely check it out!

Love this place and will stop by again!

Love this place everytime I come in it.

Knick knacks, furniture,  revamped and redone antiques, jewelry, photo albums, photographic art, and the what not.  I never walk out of here without a mental list of things I want from the place when I get my own place............. The owner is also really friendly and helpful and not at all pushy.

Fabulous place to browse for that right gift for someone special.

I already know what I'm buying someone for their next birthday.

Collage reminds me of the creative boutique stores of Buenos Aires. Enterprising individuals setting up whimsical shops in random storefronts.

I liked the eclectic assortment of knick knacks and hob knobs here. Lots of great jewelry and unique forget-me-nots to perk up someone special's day. In particular I oogled the fancy pants Parisian stamp kits which invoked daydreams of hand writing (!) some letters and imprinting them with my stamp of authenticity.

I clicked up the hill in my heels at a brisk pace, alternating between walk and jog.  I had approximately 9 minutes until Collage Gallery would close, and if I didn't make it in time to find a wonderfully unique gift, I would be the Bad-Gift-Giving-Girlfriend.

They're open til 8:00 during the week, which is important to note for all of you workaholics.  Shame on you, by the way.  We work to live, not live to work.  I mean, a late night here and there is OK, because Baby needs new shoes, and a big bonus could sure help.

Maryann greeted me with a twinkle in her eye and a genuine, non-sales-y smile.  Fantastic!  I wouldn't be pressure-sold (not much unlike being pressure-cooked, really).

She showed me the masculine items in the store, and I exclaimed, "This place is wonderful!  It is full of wonder!"  And I chose the most distinctive cuff links, which I am sure nobody else has--because I matched the pair myself.  The cuff links were made of antique typewriter keys; and I won't say what my choice symbolizes, because I would no longer be mysterious in Yelpland.

    The best things about Collage:

The jewelry is beautiful and unique. I stop in every month or two, and sure enough find a beautiful pair of earrings or a necklace that I know will be special for a long time. I also found the loveliest dish to keep my jewelry in.

The jewelry is all made by local women designers/artists. I love that.

You can also find wonderful vintage items from clocks to cameras, old beautiful mirrors, frames etc. Never the same thing twice. I love it and highly recommend a trip in!

I live in Potrero Hill and I know it's a bit out of the way, but if you're looking for a unique gift in any price range, Collage Gallery is a great place.  The salespeople are extremely helpful and knowledgeable of various items.  There's all kinds of neat stuff, little boxes, candles, glasses and tons of unique jewelry.  Some antiques as well.  Again, a beautiful little store to buy something special.

This place is amazing.  You should really start in one corner and inspect til you can inspect no more and then move about a foot and do it over again.  The Collage Gallery has been around for over 15 years and houses artwork, jewelry, and revamped antiques by local artists around the bay.  Looking for a vintage purse to take to the opera?  Or a unique pair of type-writer key earrings?  This is your spot.  Knick-knackers, welcome to heaven.

Collage has some beautiful and unusual gifts, particularly in the jewelry, objets d'art, and accessories areas.  While I do better price-wise in my forays to flea markets and thrift stores, Collage comes through, particularly in the last-minute moments where you need something cool, unique, thoughtful, and arty.  It makes one look not last minute at all!  They wrap gifts oh-so-tastefully, and that  helps with the gulp factor when you realize how much you spent in just twenty minutes.

Another unique Potrero Hill place to browse and shop.  At first glance, I was drawn to some rather pricey attractive items - they feature artwork and jewelry and 'stuff' by local artists - but then I was just drawn in to every little thing they had to offer!  They have cute little things everywhere, and while you want to go from one side of the store to the next, when something catches your eye, you also want to just take in every little inch of the space, and make your way around the entire store - no major square footage, but I literally found myself walking around, perusing the gallery, as if just observing little works of art.  They have little typewriter keys and scrabble pieces sold individually...

There's all kinds of cool stuff packed into this little shop. You know all that overpriced kitch Anthropologie sells? Well you can get pretty similar stuff at Collage Gallery, most of which is less expensive than Anthropologie. They also have jewelry. I just bought a couple of necklaces from Collage Gallery, one of which I am extra stoked on. I wasn't sure at first if the salesgirl was pushy - but I think she just sincerely wanted to be helpful - which she was.

I was impressed by the amount of stuff for both men and women.   The best part is there is new stuff every time.  Dont miss the special trunk shows either.
