Burrito size queens should make the pilgrimage to Colima's at least once. They should make stickers with an arrow pointing the way, then all the surfers can start covering signs and poles with them (hey I'm just tired of seeing poles cluttered with Vans and Billabong stickers and pulling a lady bird Johnson by beautifying our poles o' SD)
It doesn't seem like there's a drive-thru, but there is. Just drive up to the window, and if there's any cars in front waiting, someone from inside will come out and manually take your order.
My total last night came to $10.75. I gave the woman $11.00 and got $3.25 back. When I told her she messed up (oye parece que te equivocaste con mi cambio) and took the quarter only, her reaction was downright shock and I got thank yous not only from her but from some other worker inside. In fact, I drove off hearing another wave of thank-you's. This really is the hood huh?
PS. I'd have kept the $3.25 if it was a rude place like Crest Cafe hehe

If you're not a native of San Diego (or grew up NORTH of the 8) then you (sadly) may not understand how Mexican "Taco" shops work.
You may be disgusted, but that just means you're ignorant.
How To Know You're in a GOOD (tasty) Mexican "Taco" shop:
1) The shop is named after someone, or looks like it may be named after a person, either way you think that the Hispanic version of the "Baby Names" book may possibly have the name of your Mexican "Taco" Shop listed in it, you may even know someone named similarly or you may have a gardener with the same name.
2) You have to pass through a screen door to enter, which may have a plastic bag half-filled with water dangling from the top of the entrance (don't ask what it's there for, you wont understand).
3) The tables and chairs are "questionable", you may not understand if they're dirty, old or even safe - but use them anyway, just sit down and eat your food, don't worry about your pants (chances are you're going to get salsa all over them ANYWAY).
4) The person behind the counter doesn't know English. Don't ask what barbaquoa is and don't refer to the HORCHATA as "rice-cinnamon-drink", because they only know enough English to understand what your are ordering, any deviation from the normal sounds of an order will only bring up confusion and frustration, if that happens simply POINT and PAY, its a Mexican food shop, its going to taste good no matter what and the burrito is going to be larger than your forearm. Stop holding up the line with your questions about when the salsa was made (it doesn't expire, its like wine - it gets better with age).
5) They have a California Burrito on the menu. If the place your standing doesn't have it on the menu, don't bother, your not in a GOOD Mexican "Taco" Shop.
6) Their are more flies then customers, but trust me, if that bag wasn't dangling from the door their would be a whole lot more.
7) An Asian man made your food, don't ask - for some reason we make their food better, they make our food right.
8) The salsa isn't in a sealed little "ketchup" packet, and in no way is it "fancy".
9) The menu may have typos, don't let it bother you, YOU know that Raspberry has a "P" in it, don't mock them for not acknowledging it, they have better things to do, like make your food good.
10) If you decide that you want to "place an order for pick-up" don't expect professionalism, just start stating your order after the person on the other end stops talking, and if you didn't get the final price, just bite the bullet, don't ask to repeat it, bring an extra 20 and pray that it's enough, because no - they don't take Visa (by the way if you manage to spend more than 20 at one of these places, you are either not in a GOOD Mexican "Taco" Shop, or need to look up some Jenny Craig).
You may not remember all these rules on your next "fiesta-craving", but always remember this... The dirtier the location, the tastier the food. Why? You may ask yourself... Think of it this way: They spend their time on the taste of the food, not the aesthetics of the location.
Colimas is the one of the best places in Chula Vista, and because it's hidden not a lot of "outsiders" know about it. The food is always flavorful, and you are going to get full off the amount you get.

I don't know what it is, but Chula Vista keeps disappointing me when it comes to taco shops. The burritos might be huge, but that is where the amazement ends. Where was the quality? The taste? I was very disappointed in the end. And this place is not "Hood", just ugly, so lets not give any "wannabe" uncivilized drones any street cred.

MONSTER BURRITOS!
Perfect for a healthy young handsome mexican kid like myself.
The cashiers are cuties (the young chicks).
good eats.

Big burritos,
Limited English speaking chicks taking your order.
Again, as is so prevalent throughout the southbay, ellos no hablan la idioma de los Californios. These folks are from Estado Colima, Famous for coconuts and limes. At least when you ask for una lima para mi carnitas, they know what you're talking about (I'm kinda pissed at Oaxacanos and Sinaloanos so full of hubris that theirs is the only proper Spanish (here's something that's universally Spanish: CHINGATE)(not the gente de Colima (at least not in a mean way for the counter girls))).
The rolled tacos are bitching just like melissa n. said.
Terence D. stated the chicas' viejos probably run with OTNC or SSD, Dude, it's VCV. They'll run across the street from General Rocha park to beat down any esse flashing colors or signs. Horseshoes still in hands.
It's not that tough. That rough looking? yes. Three blocks from my house? a little bit more, but yes.
Oh yeah, it's not real spicy. or no es pico. no pico, no bueno parame.

Fr-fr-fressshhh rolled tacos. This is my joint!!!
Sometimes they get shady with the tomatoes. That's alright, but it's fresh (see the pic I've posted for your viewing pleasure)... it ain't that junk you get at the next taco shop on the corner -- rubbery, overdone rolled tacos stuck together, covered with guacamole and cheese fused into a whole 'nother concoction... nope, it's not that! It's fresh. I can't say that enough!
Wash it down with cold horchata (hold the ice) and you're set.
Oh yes, hella easy on the wallet, too. THAT's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Great hole-in-the-wall joint that caters to the localz in the barrio and the die hards, ese! Tucked inbetween a laundry mat and Target, Colima's serves up fast and fresh food....the burritos are as big as cats..the fish tacos are scrumptious and horchata is nice, sweet, creamy, and cold! They have a "drive thru" window and a couple of tables inside and out. The chicas that work the counter are kind and sweet but don't get any ideas cuz their boyfriends are probably running with OTNC or SSD!
