Roger, one of the owners, is a master and he really cares about the entire salon / spa.
I have super fine hair that shows every cut line... very difficul to give me a short cut because you almost have to cut every hair individually.
Not only did Roger "not mind" giving me a super short style but he was the one that suggested it!
Until Roger I wasn't aware just how much the right cut makes a huge difference.
I highly recommend Roger for any hair cut... especially if you are looking for something new that fits you well. I hear he's just as fabulous with color!
I overheard that the salon has weekly in-house training sessions to keep the stylists up-to-date.

Stella is a dream come true when it comes to waxing...and I've heard the other girl Lana is good...But I never stray from Stella...
I used to fly in occaisionally to see her b/c the waxers in Colorodo Sucked!
She seriously can do a brazilian in like 11 minutes...I'm not kidding...She is the BEST!

So after doing lots of research, I decided it was time for my very first Brazilian. After checking out the Yelp reviews, I decided on Colette. (The fact that they are the only salon that is open on Mondays was also a deciding factor.)
I called at around 3 pm to make an appointment, and the friendly receptionist got me in at 5pm! I was thrilled that I could go in so soon and confused because it said that they closed at 5pm on Mondays...oh well, who am I to argue!
So I get there, and it's in fancyland off the Mag Mile and I feel like a hobo, but that's besides the point. My aesthetician turned out to be Lana, which I was happy about because she got good reviews on here.
Long story short, my um, stuff, was too short to be waxed! "Oh no babeh, I doo not theenk I can doo thees, but I weel try" she says as she peers closely at my yum-yum. "Doo you 'ave to doo eet today?" she asks. "Um..yeah, I wanted to..." I reply. "Oh, your boyfriend, he ees coming back tomorrow." she says knowingly. "I weel try then."
So she tries, and it is mostly unsuccessful, and she tells me "I cannot charge you for zees babeh, eet ees a terrible job, come back in 3 weeks. Eef your boyfriend love you he weel understand."
Overall it was a lovely experience and I look very much forward to going back to Lana in 3 weeks. Even though she did perform the $60 service she did not charge me one cent because it didn't turn out properly since my hair wasn't long enough which is my fault anyways!

I heart Lana. After two years of being away she remembered me and as always, delivered a stellar brazilian.
Waxing is not chocolate but the closest it can come to it is Lana. Words can do her no justice and when she retires one day hopefully far far in the future women will flood the Chicagoland area with tears! And her manicures and pedicures are unparalleled i.e. there is no better french. She is also extremely vivacious, personable and funny, to the point that you forget you're getting waxed, perfect! Lana makes getting waxed dare I say it fun and for those of us who are not into S&M this is unheard of in the land of Brazil. And I've tried many many others (in different salons) over the past 12 years, when she was on vacation or fully booked and woe was I for doing so as she is by far the fastest and best in Chicago! Be forewarned then once you get the Lana treatment you will never want to go anywhere else. When I'm in need of the all time perfect manicure and pedicure even on my wedding day,Lana is the only one I would trust. But do not tell all your friends about Lana, the best wax in town, only your best of, so that we can still all go see her and make ourselves feel beautiful with no embarrassment, no fuss and most importantly and unbelievably no pain! Yes Lana is a miracle worker and has achieved the closest thing to waxing nirvana!
Best Brazilian bikini by Lana! Less expensive than other salons at $50.00 and fast!

I am spoiled. Lana, who does waxes at Collette Spa (formerly Anna Kay Salon) does the perfect bikini wax. It's quick and neat and the least painful of any I've gotten. The prices are reasonable, but there is one problem. This woman is MEAN! She went so far as to yell at me one time because i came in after 4 weeks instead of 6 because I was leaving for vacation the next day. I was absolutely appalled and embarrassed, too. Since then I have been on a quest to find another salon that waxes as well, but I have yet to find one. If I get desperate enough to put up with the nasty lady, I will go back, but I am confident I will find someone else.

I've been going to Lana for Brazilians for years, and she's simply the best. The best. If you've found better, please let me know, I'd love to be proven wrong. However, prices have recently gone up to $60 and I'm just not sure that I can justify spending $60 on my hoo ha every month. I've been to Stella too, and she's not as good as Lana, although she's better than most. And to Carolyn R., Lana is blunt, but sometimes she has bad days, just like the rest of us. Frankly, good conversation is not important to me for this kind of service. She's quick and a perfectionist, what else do you need?
Anna Kay Salon does an amazing facial. But what I like more than the facial itself is the signature products this salon uses. You can beat the oatmeal honey scrub that clears breakouts, exfoliates, and doubles as a mask. They also do great eyebrow shaping here.
Lana is the real deal in waxing, especially brazilian. She is pure business and doesn't make it uncomfortable. honestly I think she was done in about 6 minutes. next time I might time her. Ha! Pricey (65) but WELL worth it.
Lana is the best.
