After four years of trying different salons on the Gold Coast, and more bad haircuts and color jobs than I can count, I'm so happy that I finally found Tim at Colette. He's a great listener and really cares about his clients. Highly recommend.

You must go to Lana for waxing. She makes it quick and painless.

My husband and I have started coming to this salon because our stylist Matthew works here now. We highly recommend Matthew to anyone.
I always give him the creative freedom to choose the color and cut that he feels would work best. I have never been disappointed. He comes up with things I would never think of. I always get compliments on my hair, especially the color.
He always does a great job cutting my husband's hair as well. His cut is always straight and cut to the perfect length.
The salon itself was really nice. It was easy to get to via public transportation and easy to find. The staff was all very friendly. -

Well, I am new in town. Based on the Yelp reviews here, I decided to get a brazilian with Lana. While the service was good, I definitely do not consider it pain-free (ouch!) or worth the high cost. I have had equivalent services for half the cost. Also, I do not consider the room to be luxurious at all. It was cramped, hot, and not completely clean. When getting this type of service, sanitary conditions are high on the importance scale for me. Needless to say I will not be returning, but I am glad to hear that others enjoy the service.
On to the next highly-recommended waxer on Yelp. :-) -

Stella is a dream come true when it comes to waxing...and I've heard the other girl Lana is good...But I never stray from Stella...
I used to fly in occaisionally to see her b/c the waxers in Colorodo Sucked!
She seriously can do a brazilian in like 11 minutes...I'm not kidding...She is the BEST! -

Came here on a Groupon and was treated very well (and all of us bargain hunters know that's not always the case). My mani/pedi was top drawer -- more than a week later my pedi still looks pristine and my manicure has, well, lasted. (I'm very hard on my hands.) The facial was more about relaxation than pore cleansing, but as sheer pampering, it was great. I also appreciated that the aesthetican didn't break the mood by hawking products (and we're also aware that's been known to happen). So I'll be back. Thanks for a lovely afternoon, Colette Salon!

Went here on a coupon special, Wednesday after work- the place was practically dead. It seems that this place has a lot of older clientele.
The nail tech I saw for a mani/pedi was Stella, she normally does the waxing and not nails but her techniques were great and my nails still look fabulous a week later!
My European facial was done by Helen and the only negative was the music being played. I kinda felt like i was at a Asian buffet place since it was the pan flute and saxophone jazz renditions of Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. I couldn't fully relax because of my personal distaste for that music. Please put on some ambient spa music and not buffet style elevator songs. The facial however was the best I've ever had.
The prices normally are outrageous and although i really enjoyed myself i don't think i could justify spending that much on services again. -

Former customer -- Living Social bringing me back with half price deal today only: http://tinyurl.com/2fm...
Svetlana (Lana) does terrific pedicures, which alone I think cost about $40. This alone rates.
Many years ago I had the best facial ever here, when it was Anna Kay Salon. I don't know what the girl's name was or what she did, but when she was done I looked terrific. There was pressure to buy product at the time. Came back about 2 years ago and the facial was eh. No more pressure to buy product though.
But willing to try it for today's deal $70 for facial, manicure and pedicure. -

I am spoiled. Lana, who does waxes at Collette Spa (formerly Anna Kay Salon) does the perfect bikini wax. It's quick and neat and the least painful of any I've gotten. The prices are reasonable, but there is one problem. This woman is MEAN! She went so far as to yell at me one time because i came in after 4 weeks instead of 6 because I was leaving for vacation the next day. I was absolutely appalled and embarrassed, too. Since then I have been on a quest to find another salon that waxes as well, but I have yet to find one. If I get desperate enough to put up with the nasty lady, I will go back, but I am confident I will find someone else.

I've been going to Lana for Brazilians for years, and she's simply the best. The best. If you've found better, please let me know, I'd love to be proven wrong. However, prices have recently gone up to $60 and I'm just not sure that I can justify spending $60 on my hoo ha every month. I've been to Stella too, and she's not as good as Lana, although she's better than most. And to Carolyn R., Lana is blunt, but sometimes she has bad days, just like the rest of us. Frankly, good conversation is not important to me for this kind of service. She's quick and a perfectionist, what else do you need?

Anna Kay Salon does an amazing facial. But what I like more than the facial itself is the signature products this salon uses. You can beat the oatmeal honey scrub that clears breakouts, exfoliates, and doubles as a mask. They also do great eyebrow shaping here.

I heart Lana. After two years of being away she remembered me and as always, delivered a stellar brazilian.

I have been going to Paul Harris at Colette Salon for over 30 years. I have followed him wherever he went in the area of the north end of Michigan Ave. in Chicago over these many years. I tried Vidal Sasson for a while because a friend recommended them. But that was a disaster - they didn't know color like Paul does, and seemed only to know how to cut cookie-cutter Vidal Sasson styles.
Paul Harris is an expert at both color and haircuts. He trained early on as a barber, then went to beauty school and over these many years has gone every year to seminars on color to refine what he knows and learn new ways of handling color. When you get a haircut from Paul it is cut meticulously - I have short, stick straight hair and when he is done it is so gorgeous people come up to me on the street asking where I got my hair cut.
His patient skill with my blond highlights and color makes my hair shine and the color goes exactly with my skin tone. No one is better at haircuts and color than Paul Harris. No one.
Colette is a friendly, pleasant place to be. It is on the expensive side of things - but I figure I see myself in the mirror every day and like looking good and smiling at what Paul Harris has done. It is rare to have in your life someone for so long who has consistently done a good job on something as basic as one's hair. He is a sweet, friendly man who actually loves what he does and is as delighted as you are with his work.
You leave Paul's care feeling good every time. That, to me, is a gift that keeps on giving. -

As a recent customer at Colette, I have passed the seven month mark and couldn't be more happy- trying to find someone to listen to what I need and also, to let the stylist do what they know will and can work with what the big J.C upstairs gave you are two very, very important things. Carl does this each and every time. I'm crazy about my hair- I think it's the first thing someone notices on your and therefore one of the most impt things. Great cuts and wonderful transitions from shorter to longer and then back in the to short. The salon itself is very nice- the crowd skews a bit on the older side, however I'm sure it also might have to do with the fact that I come early on Saturday morning. Colette seems so, so sweet too- really committed to what she is doing. Staff is very nice. Pricing is not horrible either- So, if you're looking for a great gentleman's hair cut or woman's...check out Carl, you will not be disappointed!
