Wow, I'm impressed.  I wasn't sure what to expect, but Cole's really delivered.  Service was competent and all of the food was really good.  The steak was among the best I've had, and the side orders were fantastic.  The dessert menu looked very compelling, but what was served didn't turn out as good as what was described on the menu.

I had to give Cole's four stars because the food arrived a little cold, and the service, while competent, was very reserved and lacked any sort of personal connection with the customer.  Regardless, Cole's hit a home run and I plan on returning very soon.

3.5 Stars.

I came here last night for my friend's birthday. The restaurant  was great for a large group and the service was exceptional. However, I did not find their food as amazing as I had hoped. We ordered:

Lobster and Shrimp Bisque in Puff Pastry: I knew I HAD to order this when I saw puff pastry since I'm a sucker for anything wrapped in puff pastry. The presentation of the soup was nice and the puff pastry was perfectly golden brown. The soup, on the other hand, was not up to par. It was extremely watered down and had only two small chunks of shrimp in it.

Mushroom Caps, Asparagus in Hollandaise Sauce, Brussels Sprouts, Mashed Potatoes and Sliced Onion Rings: All the sides were mediocre. They all seem to be fairly standard.

Filet Mignon 10 oz: I was so excited to try this dish since so many people claimed that it was one of the best steaks they've ever had. I ordered mine medium rare as did most of my friends. The piece I got was overcooked and it was more of a medium to well done. I guess if it was cooked properly, I would've liked it more.

Creme Brulee, Bread Pudding and Cheesecake: I thought creme brulee was really good. It was one of the better creme brulees I've ever had. The bread pudding and the cheesecake, like their sides, were standard.

My cousin and I were in Napa for the weekend earlier this month.  We had planned on a pretty casual dinner at one of the other local spots, but had a last-minute mind change and wanted to try Cole's Chop House.

It was Saturday night and we couldn't get a reservation, so we hit up the bar at around 6p.  It was already packed but we stalked a couple of seats until people left.

There were 2 bartenders, one male, one female.  The female took our drink order.  I ordered a french martini for my cousin, and the bartender made a drink from their specialty cocktail menu (french connection, I think).  So, I had to have her re-make it.  She wasn't the friendliest about it.  She wasn't the friendliest in general.  I don't think I saw her smile the entire time we were there.  The male bartender, whose name now escapes me, was fabulous, though.  His great service and attentiveness (despite being pretty busy) well made up for the unhappy female bartender.  So, that was nice.

We basically ordered a meal and split everything.  We ordered the Oysters Rockefeller for appetizer.  OMG, fantastic, large oysters, fresh, fantastic!  Caesar salad was very good--dressing was nicely balanced.  For entree we had the 28-day dry aged rib eye.  YUUUUM.  It was really fabulous.  And then for the side dish, we had the sauteed mushrooms--they were good, nothing outstanding, but I love mushrooms, so for me you can't go wrong with mushrooms.  There was no room or time for dessert, unfortunately.

All in all, really good meal.  Great steak.  Great service.  Ambiance was fine--we were at the bar, so I couldn't really get a good feel for the restaurant ambiance.  If I find myself in Napa, would definitely pop in here again.

My husband and I went here while staying in Napa for our honeymoon. Their steak is  melt in your mouth incredible!! My husband is still dreaming about his meal. Side  dishes are tasty and good portions. The vanilla bean creme brule is amazing! Will definitely be back whenever we return to Napa!

An excellent restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of my meal! And the service was excellent. All the waitstaff was very pleasant and helpful. We brought a bottle of wine and paid the corkage fee ($25, which is quite high) and I never had to re-fill my glass myself. Anytime I'd start getting low, someone came by to fill it up.

My meal was so delicious. I order the butter lettuce salad, the petite filet mignon and mac n cheese special. The filet mignon was the best steak I've ever eaten. It just melted in my mouth. My friend had the ribeye special that came with dungeness crab and vegetable and also the pomegranate salad and said she really enjoyed it.

It's a very expensive restaurant. Our bill was $150 before tip, and we didn't even buy a bottle of wine there (bottles start around $40 or $50). However, I won't have that keep me from giving a 5 star rating because the food and service were well worth it!

It was about 105 degrees in Napa and we showed up just before Cole's opened. Eric, one of the managers, was really nice and let us in early.  They were featuring Twomey Merlot with their new menu and even had it by the glass which was really great!  And at $72 a bottle, we couldn't pass it up.  I learned they had just done a tasting with the staff the night before in addition to their new menu items so they were all familiar with the wine.  Their wine list consists mostly of Napa Cabs & blends because, they say, these are the wines most sought by their customers.

Our server did a fantastic job describing the seasonal menu to us.  He was able to describe all the components down to the texture and finish.  He recommended (and I ordered) a really delicious salad with maché greens in a pomegranate sherry vinaigrette.  The seeds gave it just a little pop & the greens had a hint of pepperiness.  It was really exceptional.  Also recommended (and ordered) was the Ahi tuna served over Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and sautéed chantrelle mushrooms with cabernet sauce and truffle oil. It complimented the merlot beautifully.  Even though Cole's is a steak house, they do fish really well.  We left our server the bottle and my card.  I was very pleased to see that a table right next to ours had ordered and was enjoying a bottle of Twomey Merlot as well.

I highly recommend Cole's.  They have a great staff and the service is first rate!

Moooo....

Great piece of meat. The best steakhouse in Napa
handsdown. Our waiters was a bit stiff, but overall it's your
best choice for aged, succulent meat. Oh yeh, I vaguely remember
they wipe the bread crumbs off your table in between service.

I ate here a few years back in June after wine tasting.  We ate outside on the patio at sunset and it was perfect weather.  The place was packed.  If rack of lamb is on the menu, I always order it.  The lamb was delicious.

One thing that stood out was if we got up to go to the restroom, we'd come back to folded napkins on our chair.  If they saw us sitting back down, they'd lay the napkins back on our lap.  I like that kind of service.

Uhh... Don't really know where to begin here.  And I think the main reason why writer block has set in, I gather, is that there are NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW FABULOUS THIS RESTAURANT IS...  Umm... I could easily stop there, but that wouldn't really be in line with my ethical commitment as a yelper.

Bartender makes a mad martini.  Grey goosey, lemony, olivey bliss.

The staff here is obviously the industry standard.  They stuck out to me as the best in the biz anyway...  Our waiter was a fucking dream.  Two more words for you: filet mignon.

Do it.

Went here for a big steak dinner with the lady, after a day of vino-tasting around Napa's various wineries. Needless to say we were tired and needed a good steak to refresh us. The menu at Cole's, like many steakhouses is somewhat limited, but we were mainly interested in the meat - she a medium-rare filet mignon, myself a medium-rare rib-eye, and a bottle of red wine to accompany. I gotta say.. despite the premium price tag and the hype around this place, I have had far better steaks. The meat tasted somewhat dry and tough, though it was very flavorful - both the filet and the ribeye suffered from the same problems, though I'd say the rib-eye was probably better: the flavor somewhat compensated for the lack of juiciness.

Ambiance was great, service was 10/10.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and were truly impressed in every detail.

We arrived early, planning to sit at the bar if our table wasn't open. Not only did they seat us immediately (and with big smiles) but we were given *The Best* seats in the house. Mine overlooked the kitchen which provided me with an excellent private "cooking show"! My husband got to see the full view of the restaurant from his seat.

The service was absolutely amazing, right down to every detail. We were left alone but completely pampered. All we needed to do to get attention was look up and someone was there. The instant my glass was set down empty it was being refilled. The wine menu was cracked open and the sommelier was standing there for questions. The waiter was good humored and gave excellent descriptions and suggestions.

The cocktail menu is stellar - great selection of premium goodies and a perfectly made drink! Dinners were surf & turf and pork chop; both were just perfectly done. Dessert was strawberry shortcake which was served with long candles to celebrate the occasion :) I'm really sad I was just too stuffed to try the bananas foster...next time!

We are so happy we chose this for our special day and will certainly make a point to return when we are in town!

Wowww! This place is amazing.  The food exceeded my expectations by far.  I thought nothing could ever compare to Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills yet this place came quite close if not matched it!
We started off with the Oysters Rockefeller which I had never had before but decided to order because everyone else had reviewed them so highly.  They were out of this world good.  I could have easily had just them for my entire dinner but they only give you 4 on the plate (sadness!!!).
Next we had wedge salad which was delicious... although I wish they had added a few more tomatoes to it seeing as it is the middle of summer and the perfect season for amazing tomatoes.  Besides the not enough tomatoes, it was a really good salad.
Then for the main course we ordered 16oz New York steak to share plus the yukon gold mashed potatoes, a half order of the asparagus with Hollandaise and a half order of the Chanterelle Mushrooms.  The steak was phenomenal, perfectly cooked and plenty filling.  The asparagus was wonderful and the mushrooms were absolutely incredible!  The only thing that was just ok were the mashed potatoes, which to be fair were still good but did not live up to everything else we had ordered.
To drink we brought in a bottle of wine as well as ordered one off the menu so they would waive the corkage fee.   With how long the dinner is it was no problem to finish off all of the wine.
Great place for food, wine and atmosphere, 100 percent will go back!!

We were in the mood for a good steak, and found Cole's here on Yelp.  You did not disappoint!  First we shared a crab cocktail that was incredibly fresh and light, on a bed of spicy cocktail sauce and chopped vegetables.  The filet was spectacular, with a caramelized outside and buttery inside.  My dining companion had the crispy onion rings, and could not stop raving about how good they were.  The service was attentive but not overly so, and was clearly well informed about the needs of gluten free diners.  The stone walls, wood floors and exposed beam ceilings were lovely to look at.  Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Went to Cole's this weekend for my Dad's bday dinner and it never disappoints.  We shared the Oysters Rockefeller, which are the best I've ever had, and also split the Wedge salad.  (If you ask, they will split it for you).  I got a filet and it was cooked perfectly.  My parents both did the surf 'n turf with lobster tail...my Mom a Filet and my Dad a NY Strip.  We shared the white corn with bleu cheese butter (amazing).  Also, we split a Cherry Crisp, which was the dessert special, but it was amazing.  I felt like I needed to be rolled out of there I was so full... but so happy!

The service is second to none.  They are so great and not in an annoying, over-bearing way.  Also, they will comp your corkage fee if you buy a at least a half bottle of wine.  We brought a great bottle with us, but started with a half bottle of sparkling as to avoid the corkage fee.  I highly recommend this.

All in all, you cannot beat this place... if you are a steak lover, I would definitely recommend.

The two "steakhouses" I have ever been to were: Hungry Hunter & Black Angus.

My bf took me here on Sunday and I was impressed from beginning to end. The entire layout is modern and roomy. Their bar, I heard, is fantastic but only got drinks from them at dinner. There are two floors and we were lucky to sit on the second floor and watch the day turn into night.

Our server was at our attention as soon as we sat. My boyfriend and I tried out their house specialty drinks: red pear and mango margarita. The latter being the better of the two. For appetizer we shared the Oyster Rockefeller, which was so ono! There fresh bread and butter is small and non-filling.

For dinner we ordered beef chop: rip-eye steak (16oz) and 28-day seasoned rip eye steak (10oz). Guess which one I had? The first one I ordered, but my bf and I cute the meats in half and gave each other a half of our steak. Hands down the seasoned steak is so much better especially when ordered medium rare. For our side we had creamed spinach. We had brought with us a bottle from his parents, which complimented the wine so well. Lastly, for dessert we shared a very yummy vanilla bean creme brulee which was the best thing I have ever tasted!

And I have to say for $175 for two people, it was well worth the price. I would love to come here again on a double date, not that I didn't love this awesome date with my man (awwwwwww).

I was happily invited to dinner at Cole's by a friend who was meeting his uncle and aunt for dinner.  I had already eaten a late lunch, but didn't want to miss out on Cole's...so I decided I'd try to "eat light".  Nice try!

I've been to Cole's a few times before and always got a great steak.  This time I decided that the lamb chops would be the way to go.  They've never really seemed that big and with a few samples of sides, it made sense that I'd have no problem finishing.

First plate was my Caesar salad.  Nothing really impressive about their Caesar other than the fact that it always has a nice, tasty anchovy on top.  Next time I'm getting adventurous and trying the spinach salad.

The sides that we ordered were the Asparagus, the Broccoli and the Hash Browns.

Asparagus was perfect.  To die for!  The Broccoli was great as well (and I'm not a big broccoli fan).  The star of the sides, however, was the hash browns.  My only regret is that we got it without onions.  The taste of these amazing potatoes goes perfect with meat.

Last, but definitely not least, was the lamb chops.  Meat popsicles would be a better description.  The meat was cooked perfect and without any overpowering sauce or marinade, I was presented with just the flavor of the natural lamb chop and a little salt and pepper.  YOU MUST TRY THIS.  Needless to say, I ended up taking half my lamb chops home and had a delicious and envious snack at work later that night.

The service was great.  Constant attention to our needs and my water and soda glasses were never close to empty.  Definitely recommend!!

Definitely as good as a steak house can get, this place is a must if you are in Napa.  We found this place after speaking with the wineries and some of the locals and they said if you are in napa and want a steak, you must visits Coles!

My Fiance and I had an amazing time here.  From their great service to the wine recommendations that truly are amazing.  Tim who was our server was very good, always staying classy and making sure we were satisfied with our dinner.  We had the porterhouse for 2 with several sides.  The thinly sliced onion rings were fantastic, we paired our steaks with a great bottle of Cabernet and finished off our visit with a great brownie dessert.

Stay Classy Napa Valley!

This being our first time in Napa, we went all out with the wine tasting, buying and dining. We tried getting reservations to French Laundry, but of course, we couldn't. So we tried the next recommendation off everybody's mouth.

We got a late reservation, which was perfect because we walked in to a slightly crowded restaurant and were immediately seated and attended. We began the meal with a Napa Manhattan - Knob Creek Bourbon, Punt e Mes with Port Soaked Cherries and a  Sazerac - Michter's Rye Whiskey, Raw Sugar, Bitters in a Pernod Coated Glass on the Rocks. I certainly couldn't complain about the lack of alcohol. It was a nice after a day full of headache-giving wines.

The server recommend the day special: Steak Oscar, Certified Angus Beef® Filet Mignon topped with butter Crab and a side of asparagus. The boyfriend went with that.  I opted for the Lamb Chops (rare)- with mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked Brussels sprouts covered in a wine-bacon reduction sauce that just melted the flavors together. We were both really satisfied.

We finished the meal with a Bananas Foster. A bit to much for me, but my boyfriend really enjoyed it.

So...of all ostentatious indulges that come with a trip to Napa..that was the best $170 we spent!

If you like steaks, you'll love this place. I had the rib steak and my friend had the filet mignon, both delicious. My rib steak was cooked to perfectly, charred-blue, the only way a steak should ever be eaten. I was unfortunately not so impressed by the sides. For example the cream spinach tasted like it was made from condensed milk. All in all, a lot of (sucessful) effort on the steaks, maybe on enough thought put into the sides.

Thee best steakhouse in Napa, hands down. Cole's does not disappoint. The hubby and I wanted a good steak dinner and hit up our favorite spot. We ate in the patio area this time around and the weather was perfect, our reservation was at 8:15. I thought it might be chilly, but they do have heat lamps outside.

Appeteazers: Oysters Rockefeller (4pc)
Entrees: 2 Beef Chop - bone in Rib Eye Steak
Sides: Thin Sliced Onion Rings, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes & White Corn sauteed with butter, garlic, shallots, parsley topped with a Blue Cheese butter (Hells to the Yeah...Yummy!)

Our waitress was very attentive and even gave bread sticks to our lil' man to keep him occupied. Couldn't finish the steaks, so the next morning we had steak & eggs. Keep the goodness going till the next day.

Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and that's why we keep coming back. Make sure you make reservations, this place gets busy. They do have Valet parking and a Great Bar! For those mothers out there, they don't have a changing station in the restroom, I found that out the hard way.

As I am far from a steak conoseuir/lover, I quote my boyfriend who has eaten his fair share of steak and then some, "It was the best steak I ever had."  I can, however, add that their special side dish of the day of macaroni and cheese was the best thing ever.  If I didn't have a plate full of NY Steak + Dungeness crab + asparagus in front of me and other guests at our table, I would have probably eaten the whole thing by myself.

Service for our table was terribly slow.  I specifically only say our table as the table of 4 seated down after us were eating their appetizers and salad/soup in a record of time.  Our reservations were at 645pm and I didn't take a bite of my steak until around 830pm.  I was starving!!!

Usually, I give 4 stars, even if I really love a place, just because there's usually some room for improvement... but I really can't think of how they could make Cole's any better.  It is what it is... a Chop House, and they execute it perfectly.

We had some certificates from our timeshare presentation.  So we were already playing with "house money."

Eating with our friends Anthony and Alice we started with the warm spinach salad which was great, even 2 salads split 4 ways yielded a good portion.  We then plunged into meat eating heaven.  2 aged Ribeyes, a New York strip and a rack of lamb.  All were fantastic.  I'd give a slight edge to the ribeyes, but everything was good nice and charred on the outside and perfectly juicy Medium rare on the inside.

For sides we had the onion strings, cream of spinach and their hash browns.  I liked all three and was trying to pace myself and not eat too much but the sides were so good I couldn't resist and kept reloading even though the steak was really the main attraction.  After filling up completely, we still had to take home a bunch of food.

This being Napa, the wine list was excellent.  I was the only one drinking and had a Pinot Noir (forget which) that was a nice complement.

The bill was around $260 after tax and tip (again we're not big drinkers).  But definitely worth it.  I would definitely go for a special occasion, especially if I ever get more of those certificates!  Don't even think about coming here if you don't like meat.  But if you're a real carnivore, I doubt you could be disappointed in Cole's.   Definitely rivals the best steakhouses in Vegas and San Francisco.

Absolutely nice restaurant and what a steak!

My filet mignon was so perfectly medium rare, so tasty and so tender, I didn't have to use my knife to cut through it... My friend enjoyed the American version of the Kobe steak (but I can't remember how it is called). The sommelier recommended the perfect local wine to go with our steaks but - as usual - I forget the name of it...

I could eat there everyday, seriously!

Definately 4.5 stars.  We had an excellent meal here last weekend.  Took BF here for his Bday after a long day of wine tasting.  The warm spinach salad is the best I've ever had.  He had the Rib eye and I had the Filet.  I don't usually eat meat but when I do, I appreciate a good steak.  Both of these steaks were incredible.  This is a beautiful and romantic restaurant, service was wonderful.  We will be back.

5 stars: oysters rockefeller (i actually put the giant rock salt on top of the oysters and let them melt, so the flavor is more salty, like raw oysters

4 stars: vodka tonic, they must be using a really nice vermouth

4 stars: alaskan halibut with a fancy tartar sauce

3 stars: filet mignon (not the best ever - III Forks in Texas, Mastro's in Beverly Hills is better), and for a $39 10 oz steak, I do expect something special.  But the service is really outstanding, and if you're in the Napa area, you just have to give this place a try.  You'll be glad you did.

My favorite place for a special occasion. Outstanding service, food and ambiance (if you want busy, noisy and fun.  Although pricey, the quality of the food is very good. The dry aged beef is tender AND flavorful. The sides are huge so order one or two for 3-4 people.  Corkage is a little steep, but they will waive it if you buy a bottle too ( and that includes half bottles which makes it a good choice for a wine to go with you appetizer or dessert).
I can cook a good steak at home for less, but this place is worth it special occasion or just a nice night out- consistently good.

We love Cole's Chop House!
Whenever my bf and I are in Napa we attemp to try new restaurants during every trip but this is only place that we have repeated bc it's so fabulous.
The ambience is sophisticated and the food is delicious. Never in my life have I seen lobster mashed potatoes! And they were like heaven! New York steak is fantabulous! As is the filet. Even though the wine list is terrific, I usually feel like a nice Dirt Martini after a long day of wine tasting, and they make a delicious martini! A wonderful experience! I would definitely recommend Coles Chop House

Had a great time here and their Oyster Rockerfellers are out of this world. The lamb chop here was beyond amazing and their Lobster bisque was equally tasty. I would highly recommend this somewhat casual but upscale environment for anyone.

There is also an outdoor area that is very nice during summer evenings to have a nice drink outside. I believe they do have happy hour specials and their appetizers are awesome.

THis place is great.  Service was prompt and food was awesome.

I had the oysters, new york steak and rack of lamb.

All of them were ridiculously good and worth every penny!

Im so not used to eating dinner at 9 pm, however I lagged on making a reservation and was met with a 5:45 or 9 option - I took the later....which as I discovered just gives you more time to booze beforehand.

The restaurant is very cool inside, great look! Giant stone walls and open ceiling -  I really liked the place, I can't imagine having an intimate romantic dinner here tho -  it's pretty noisy but, I like that vibe a lot.

So we were seated promptly in the center of all the action and right away I started to read the wine bible. Very good selections with a great price range. The sommelier came over and asked if he could help us out. (If you knew my past debacles with sommelier's you would understand the bitter taste in my mouth, usually they are soooo pretentious it drives me nuts) But our buddy here was great! We went right to the Zins and I could not make up my mind - a full bottle is a commitment to me - he kindly left me to ponder and I decided on a very light Zin - it was great. Honestly, he was fabulous - as was our waiter John. Everyone was so friendly, talkative and attentive - even the kid getting our dishes - Coles you have a great staff!

I ordered Oysters Rockafeller and the man got a wedge salad. Both were delicious and done just right. Cause boy, you can screw those up. I ordered the filet special - 7 oz Filet Mignon atop mashed potatoes with wild mushroom saute in a peppercorn sauce - fabulous. The meat was medium rare and had a delicious grilled flavor to it and the mushrooms were the bomb. Hubby got the rack of lamb - so funny and cavemanish to see a plate with just a charred rack of lamb on it.......but damn that lamb was good!

A great experience! Can't wait to visit again - just as soon as I get a raise :)

Napa's best bar to see and be seen.  There's just not enough of it.  The space is limited.  BUT, love the drinks, love the bartenders, and love the scene.  I don't eat here often though.  The same old Napa Valley problem - big money, small return.  One thing about the dining that does shake the stereotype is that everyone here is as friendly as they can be.  I would dine on special occasions only.  But, hey, if you are in Napa it is likely just such an occasion.
It is a great place to be...at the bar!

Wowza! I want to start out with the service, superb. Our waiter was awesome, friendly, funny and kind. Loved, loved, loved him, he was totally festive and fun. The decor is subtle class, great lighting, dining by candlelight is wonderful. The menu is not extensive, their thing here are the chops and boy do you hemm and haw for awhile figuring out what you're gonna try. Luckily for me they had a surf and turf special, a 10oz filet with a 7oz maine lobster tail. So very scrumptious! My husband went with the 16oz bone in rib eye that was perfection. Oh and lets not forget the drinks, the French Martini is so yummy with chambord and pineapple juice, my new favorite. The strawberry lemonade with vodka was also to die for. The management here takes great pride in providing a top notch dining experience. They came around a few times to ensure our meal was going well. I can not forget to praise the cesar dressing, so delightful and tasty with just a hint of anchovy, I made sure to eat it slow to savor every bite. This place is pricey, everything is a la carte but the sides are large enough to share. I would not hesitate to return here again for a special occasion. Oh and do not miss out on the bananas foster, served flaming on the table and the sauce was thick and rich and perfect! The location is easy to get to and there was plenty of parking around the block.

Our experience at Cole's Chop House was amazing. My husband and I weren't sure what to expect. For some reason, I was expecting bbq, and my husband was expecting a dimly-lit, low-ceiling, old-school steakhouse. Cole's is neither of those.

It's actually more of a large, open space, brightly lit space, with cool stone walls, an open truss ceiling, and a loft above the kitchen with additional seating. The inside feels both historical and modern at the same time.

The food was incredible. Wine list looked respectable too (husband had a glass of D Cubed red zin). We started with a spinach salad with pears and a smoked bacon vinaigrette. Bacon makes just about anything taste good, and this salad was no exception. A great start.

For an entree, I ordered the steak special -- don't quite remember the name -- something Japanese. Our server explained it as essentially a NY strip steak and an equivalent of Kobe beef. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes with a sweet corn, wild mushroom, and brandy-peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked exactly as I requested it. But the accompaniments really made this dish.

My husband ordered the Niman Ranch pork chop, and a humongous baked potato on the side which we shared. He finished all of the pork chop, so I don't think there were any complaints on his side either.

For dessert, I wanted the cheesecake, but my husband wanted chocolate. Our server (Guy) broke the tie by suggesting the brownie. It was a warm chocolate brownie with 2 scoops of caramel ice cream. After ordering this, we worried that the caramel ice cream might be a little too sweet to offset the richness of the brownie. But the ice cream was lighter and creamier than we imagined, and complimented the brownie fantastically.

The food was certainly worthwhile here, and the ambience was a pleasant surprise. Because of the stone walls and hardwood floors, it was a little loud. But not enough to dock the entire experience down any amount. Highly recommended if you're in Napa and looking for a modern twist on a steakhouse.

Went to Napa to do some wine-tasting, do the B&B thing and then eat a good meal.  When I went to Cole's CH, I had a dirty ketel martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, which started my evening off right!  We (my lovely gf and I) proceeded to the table and started with the oysters rockefeller. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I could have def eaten the whole plate by myself, but I shared with my oyster-hating gf, who LOVED them! Next we split the caesar, great choice. Then we had a 3-4 week dry aged piece of med. cooked beef, which I typically would have ordered med-rare, but women don't like the cow to moo when they're eating.  This was greeeeeat! We finished with a creme brulee and by that point, my shirt was exploding open!  We split everything and it was more than enough...and I can eat!  The service/ food cooking perfection deserves a solid 5 stars. Lets just say that this restaurant triggered me to get a yelp account. Will return!

I got the Beef chop, which was perfect. Wife got the Lamb Chop, which was alittle chard. We could taste the burnt pieces of meat, which hurt the taste of lamb alittle. Otherwise it was good.

The creamed spinach was not that great. Too much cream. Wife and I only eat less then half of it.

The Bourbon Bread pudding was great.

Upon asking our concierge where the locals love to eat in Napa, without missing a beat she said, "Cole's."

And I have to say, Cole's is a decent steakhouse.  But I'm a Midwestern farm girl born with a silver steak knife in my mouth.  T-Bones, filets, chops out of my own backyard are pretty hard to beat.

There was just something a little off about this California steak joint.

The meat was good, but not amazing.  I ordered the lamb medium rare, and it was a little overcooked and chewy.  The mashed potatoes definitely weren't my mom's, grandma's, or even Lawry's for that matter.

That being said, the sommy was a lot of fun, and the bar serves one of the best Hemingway daiquiries I've ever had...  oh, and the Sapphire dirty didn't disappoint either.

Steaks here were pretty darn good. As good as it can get at a steakhouse that is. None of us were disappointed with the steak slabs we ordered. We each got the Chicago dry-aged NY steak, Porterhouse steak and the Filet Mignon. They were all cooked perfectly the way we each wanted. We had their side of house hash browns, thin sliced onion rings, and sauteed mushroom caps. Those were all yummy also. There was nothing to complain about. Our waitress was super nice and even got a free dessert for the bday boy. A stop to make next time in Napa!
