The curtains are beautiful and at $12.99 a panel, you could afford to grab several colors and change it up like once every 3 days.

Cohabitat, the official sponsor of Karen's apartment.

The fabrics are by far the most incredible finds.  I've already made four trips to this place in the month that I've been living here.

I've snagged a gorgeous 2'x3' hand embroidered wall tapestry that I'm using as a table runner for my small square dining table, a vibrant orange runner for my bookshelf, several beaded placemats for my nightstand and other various corners of my bedroom, a glass and metal lantern hanging over my bed, and a few of my new-favorite accessories, including a giant cuff (I love obnoxiously large jewelry) that I get compliments on every time I wear it.  I feel like a gladiator when I rock that piece.

Cohabitat is an awesome place to find something for yourself, and a really great place to get gifts---for friends, your mom, your fellow incense-loving yogis, you name it.  The prices are really great for the pieces you're buying, so definitely check this place out.

I'm officially obsessed.

Do you live bright colors? indian fabrics? incense and oil burners? jewelry? elaborateness? comfort? if you answered yes to any of these, go to habitata and redecorate your entire house with it. don't question me, just do it.
i love everything in this store, but their elaborately beaded quilts ful of brights colors are the best thing this palce has to offer. buy like 4, use one as a rug, hang one on the wall like a tapestry (they're really a work of art), and stick the other two on the beds. yes, do it.

This is a place I walk down to just for the hell of it. I have bought so much stuff here it's ridiculous! I bought stuff to decorate with at my wedding, since it was a mix between Indian and Asian it worked out great! I love so many things in here! I want one of those exotic beds and a nice bedspread to go with it. I love the pillows and curtains, the jewelry, books, incense, some of the clothing (bought hubby and I outfits for a friends beach wedding) and so much more! I love just looking at things there. I make my husband walk in there with me whenever we go to eat dinner at Amarin! It's inexpensive, fun, lots of culture and the people are super nice! I once had a scavanger hunt and had to get foreign currency and got a rupee from the owner to bypass the typical peso! Go check it out! You will leave with something in your hands! Cool shopping bags too.

You MUST go here! I swear, I visit the place at Least every week and am surprised to find new stuff constantly. Not in a never-again-see-what-you-lusted-after-that-one-tim e way. A few new additions to keep ya interested. Decorate your home, office, volkswagen bus, whatever, for a very affordable price. And the folks who work there are awesome! The owner can tell you what that quote in Urdu says, just in case.

Now they have a frequent buyer plan. You know, like other places--buy a certain amount, get a discount. But instead of some crappy little plastic card for your keychain, the owner had some special little pieces designed. It goes on your keychain, but it's very decorative, instead of cheesy. (and no barcode to wear out!)

All in all, this place rocks! I could go on and on, but instead, Please just check it out for yourself. (And then go to Mama Testa's for lunch or dinner! )

Oh, how I love this place...where do I start...?

Friendly staff - totally.  After just a few visits they recognized and remembered us, now they ask what's new in our world and let our five-year-old sit FOREVER and listen to the CD tester headphone thing.  We almost always buy something when we visit, but they're equally gracious even if we don't.

Great stuff - beyond great, most of it.  Tons of new things, tons of things you don't see somewhere else every five minutes, gorgeous colors/textures/scents/sounds...

Phenomenal incense collection.

Great art and jewelry.

Cool clothes...I have two skirts from there that I'm complemented on every time I wear them.  My father-in-law was here from Arkansas last summer and bought a great Indian/hippie caftan-type shirt that he wore constantly...wish I could've gone back to Arkansas and heard what the locals thought...but I digress...

Prices - wow.  As one other reviewer said - relax, you can afford it.  Definitely check out this place!

I dropped into Cohabitat for the first time yesterday and was very very impressed.
There is an impressive assortment of all kinds of things from rugs to clothes to incense to furniture to pillows, to whatever!
Everything has a nice unique feel to it, and it is a treat to just hunt through things.
The staff are super duper friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and fun.
The prices, I assumed, were going to be sky high, but they were not!  Great stuff at good prices.
Definately worth the trip just to meander through the aisles and see everything.
5 Stars, no problem.

I agree. Great stuff at great prices.  I was admiring this happy buddha statue for a little while and finally went in and got him.  He's a great addition to my  house - and for only $15!

Cohabitat is a gorgeous store!  I usually make this my first stop when looking to decorate anything.  affordable, pretty, quality products and the most damned patient staff I've ever dealt with. (Seriously, I went here with my Aries friend to re-decorate her room... and they graciously dealt with her every time she changed her mind or wanted to see something out on the bed or something with something else or.... on and on and on)

If you are looking to add a unique, exotic touch to your interiors, start here.

Now that places like target are jumping on the exotic style decor bandwagon like Cost Plus and Pier 1, you should check out Cohabitat. Here you can grab that lush flavor without fearing that you'll see that same table runner and candle centerpiece a couple weeks later at your friends house.

A huge selection that is full of variety and sometimes overwhelming to the eye. Just talk to staff and they are happy to help you find what you're looking for.

Besides home decor, they also carry a selection of jewelry, clothing and eastern music.

A great place for gifts. Reasonable prices.

Cohabitat is the apogee of Indian galore.  From statues of Ghanesh to lavish Sari Jacquard pillows, you'll find a piece of India to take back home with you.

The plethora of items amazed me, and the quality was an eye-pleaser.  From the rich embroidered curtains to the exotically interesting furniture, this place has it all.  In some cases, nothing like money, that is a lack thereof, hinders beauty.  Well, at Cohabitat, it is not the case.  Rejoice, you can all afford it.  And if you can't, go there to get a few meditative candles and neuron-twitching Indian music, rush home and meditate on how to make it happen!  Transcend!

This store has THE most gorgeous table runners, sheer curtain panels, canopies, beaded curtains, throws, purses, pillow cases, etc. etc.  I try to stop by when I can (there is a store on Mira Mesa Blvd as well).  I've talked to the owner once and he's so kind and helpful!  If you need to pick up a gift for someone, I definitely recommend this place.  I've gotten so many compliments on a sheer hand-beaded panel (used it as a curtain and also to put on top of a dresser).  The prices are very reasonable...I would say that if the same items were sold at Cost Plus or Pier 1, they would cost 2-3 times more.
