This is an adorable little cafe, it's small and comfortable.
I ordered an iced white chocolate latte and a salmon bagel.
The iced white chocolate had 2 shots of espresso, and tasted
delicious, it wasn't too sweet nor bitter. The bagel had a lovely
cut of fish, tomatoes and cream cheese, all very well paired.
There is free wifi, a young lady who was in there as was skyping,
so the wifi is good. So just bring your computer, grab a coffee,
and enjoy a jem of Echo Park.

Ultimately, I would definitely suggest you go here

I really really want to give this place a 5 Star rating, but it's just not possible, sorry!

This place has a great ambiance, it's unpretentious with comfortable seating arrangements and an OK location, parking can a bit tricky sometimes.

Having been here twice and the same, overwhelmed, overly friendly and nice young guy has been behind the counter by him self.  He is so nice, that it's really hard to say something unkind about him, but he really is not qualified to run this shop alone.

The Coffee is absolutely nothing to write home about, not sure if it's the process and preparation, or if it's mediocre beans being used, but I suspect it's a combination.

This place is ok.  Coffee is good but there is usually just one person standing behind the counter so it takes forever to get a drink. Better than Starbucks though.

This place is looking so great lately, there's a whole new essence in the shop. They are starting to offer vegan and vegetarian options, that are very well priced and really delicious. The baristas here really take there their job serious, and have a great time while working.

I recommend you folks check this place out because of its new energy, its red, and they play great music. Just check it out youll love it.

Coffee Pot? More like Coffee NOT!!!

If I could give 0 stars - trust me, I would !!!  I wandered into this cozy -  right out of the 'wannabe' FRIENDS coffee bar set to treat myself to a thirst-quenching delight.

I ordered a Caramel Frappuccino that was priced around $4, which is more than Starbucks. Now given the ambiance, I thought it would be a safe bet to guess that the coffee would be stellar...or at least close to it.

My drink tasted like PURE WATER with maybe a 5% hint of coffee!!! Furthermore, the "caramel" was simply some non-caramel tasting liquid syrup!

This was not by any means a Caramel Frappuccino .. it was a Caramel CRAPpuccino.

Euro, kitschy kind of place right on Sunset. Decor includes adorable tchotchkes like a ceramic cat head desk lamp at the register, a wooden bobblehead puppy overseeing the pastry case, and handcrafted heirlooms likely from Eastern Europe or Russia. Oddly, there is also American vintage "porn" hanging up in the unisex bathroom. Weird call, but okay.

Seats vary from cushion-y, couch-like furniture, to standard-sized tables, to high-tops with stools. Or you can sit at the bar against the window and watch the crazy drift by. There's a variety of vintage accessories for sale that are tastefully arranged throughout the space, similar to what's going on in Casbah Cafe.

The coffee is stellar and reasonably priced. Service is fine. The snacks are okay. I really appreciate that there are vegan options, and interesting ones, at that. I had the "Mediterranean Platter," which consisted of hummus, pita triangles, warm dolma, falafel, warm bean salad, tabbouleh, and some jarred, roasted red pepper. Again, I would rate the overall *quality* of the food as "acceptable," but I have extra appreciation for the menu because of the vegan options *and* the fact that said options are not your typical, boring "hold the cheese" vegan options. Seriously, how is a veggie & cheese wrap, hold the cheese, a vegan option? WTF, Silver Lake Coffee.

    Free wi-fi. Ample plugs.

Not pretentious (Intelligentsia, I'm lookin' at you).

My biggest complaint? I wish the seating arrangement or the size created more opportunity for privacy. Or at least the illusion of privacy.

Still, The Coffee Pot wins me over because of its quirky decor (hey, I'm a visual person), its high-quality brew, and its interesting vegan options. I'd add "free wi-fi" to this list, but that seems to be a common denominator among any respectable coffee shop these days.

I hate to give this place a good review and tell the world about my little secret, but I feel obligated to help out an awesome establishment.

The Coffee Pot is an artsy, Russian-operated spot with charming little items for purchase. They serve very good coffee, crepes, sandwiches, and, the deal-breaker that keeps me coming back, delicious Russian dumplings. Sometimes you can get the dumplings with meat (yum) but the cheese ones are stuffed with a sort of sweet ricotta "farmer's cheese" that make for an absolutely fantastic little brunch.

But that's not even the greatest thing about the Coffee Pot. Neither is Anna, the sweetheart who works there Tuesdays through Thursdays (and always makes sure to have a little bowl of water ready if I'm walking the dog), or the other very nice ladies on the other days.

No, the greatest thing about it is that every time I go there, something absolutely insane (not threatening or dangerous, mind you, just *weird*) happens. Maybe it's the elaborate mural on the side of the building, maybe it's the flawless geographic cross-section of 7-11 and artsy-bohemian and people experiencing homelessness, or maybe it's the overwhelming vibe of enjoying delicately-prepared tea-foods in patrician 1800s St. Petersburg, but I have very rarely had a day at the Coffee Pot when a stranger hasn't approached me with some curious encounter that seems straight out of a Dostoyevsky novel. I feel like I could pen some surrealist tome straight from the sidewalk tables on Sunset & Mohawk.

So yes, Echo Park, this is My Place for Coffee. It isn't hateful of its customers like Chango, isn't generic enough to be the laundromat Starbucks, and isn't as pricey as the Downbeat. It has unique and delicious Eastern European and Mediterranean foods, friendly and interesting staff, free Wi-Fi, and, best of all, an unpredictable nature that would be ruined if too many judgmental, weirdo yelpers were to ever discov---Hey, you know what? On second thought, Chango is waaaay better. Go there.

The Coffee Pot seems to be a place I always pass by but never go into. Located in Echo Park just a couple of blocks away from Machine Project, The Echo, and 826LA East, this little independent coffee shop is a quiet and low-key place to get some work done or to grab a quick lunch. I didn't have time to get coffee here today, but I did have a very tasty Turkey Crepe which was filled with spinach, onions, tomatoes, turkey, and cheese-- for under $6! It was a generous portion served piping hot with sour cream on the side. They have a full coffee bar, bottled beverages, and also serve paninis and breakfast sandwiches. They are vegan friendly and accept debit/credit cards, too. Considering the closest dining options are the Brite Spot, Burrito King, and a pizza place, I think this is a place I'll be visiting again real soon.

When I first moved near the Coffee Pot, I was so excited that there was a little coffee shop in my neighborhood I could walk to and get coffee. Now, I usually walk right past it to the K&C Donut Shop or Starbucks (I know, I suck). But, this place is too hit or miss.

They sell semi-cheap breakfast items, but aren't very good about keeping things stocked. How can you have bagels and bagel sandwiches as a main breakfast option on your menu and just say "we don't have bagels today" at 9 AM, twice? Their quality of food is poor - packaged lunch meat, store bought bagels, etc. And the pastries are just ok. They really need to bulk up their food selection. It always looks so sad and scarce in their display case - but probably because this place is always empty.

The coffee is Illy, so it's good. But, not good enough to come every day. Plus, it gets very expensive if you want soy milk and vanilla flavoring. $4-5 for a small cup.

The crepes are this place's saving grace. They are delicious. Well, depending on who makes them. My fiancee wents nuts over his turkey and cheese nutella - then ordered it again another time and said it was kinda gross! I always get the strawberry and nutella - and it's kinda hard to mess that up! I will come back again and again for that item. Everything else is just kinda meh.

I went back and was a little surprised by their lack of knowledge of their products.  I wanted iced tea, but it definitely had to be caffeinated.  When I asked if their iced tea was caffeinated or herbal, the woman behind the counter didn't know!  And quite frankly she didn't  seem to care to find out, so I stepped outside and asked the owners and they didn't know either  but said that they thought so.  Unacceptable, and a little alarming.

But they are a new business, so I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully they'll educate themselves on all the products that they're serving their customers.

I didn't end up getting the "mystery" iced tea cause I couldn't risk my caffeine fix, but the counter person made me an iced tea out of one of their hot teas.  It was good.

I don't quite know what to think of this place.  Their coffee's very decent, their couches are great for setting in with a good book, their dolmas and coffee cake are delicious, the rest of their menu items make good effort to lure me in every time I walk by.  However, there always seems to be an air of impatience about whoever is serving me, like they have better things to do than make me coffee.  Ummm... sorry to inconvenience you during your work day?  The other thing that's difficult for me to get down with is their erratic hours.  The sign on the door says 8-5, but I've seen them open as early as 7am and as late as 9am, and I've been kicked out at 4pm and at other times seen the place bumping past 9pm!  If you're going to open and close on a whim, then don't post your hours of operation.  It's just annoying.

    This place cracks me up.

They are clearly not onto the business model of a coffee shop in a hip neighborhood, but that isn't to say they aren't worth frequenting. They're dorky: the staff is new and clearly unaccustomed to this sort of thing, the menu is sprawling, the decor is unfashionably mod and a little silly.

However: the veggie patties are homemade and quite tasty, the display cabinet sports freshly made Middle Eastern salads and entrees, and there are always mysterious Eastern European pastries (Armenian? They said Russian, but I think that's translated into, "Former Soviet Satellite of Your Choosing") filled with spinach or seasoned meats. The espresso is "illy" brand, so it's trustworthy and competently made. And the airy, comfortable seating area features low-slung cushy chairs as well as comfortable bar seating, making for an easy few hours of reading and studying. Free WiFi. And there's a charming little chess set with stools in the back of the room that yearns to host bored old men with polyester pants and jaunty caps.

Give these guys a shot. It's a nice change from the scene and they deserve some business. And try the falafel.

Went there on a Tuesday morning and I was the only one there.  I agree that the atmosphere is a little off for the neighborhood.  Comfortable but not cozy.  The coffee was good.  I had a bagel sandwich; your choice of turkey or ham, hummus, lettuce, tomato and a little tabouleh.  Not a ton of bagel options but for $3.50 it was very good deal. Fast reliable wi-fi.

I dunno, I probably come back one day and try the crepes but I must say atmosphere is a big factor when it comes to hanging out at a cafe for an hour and this one feels strange.

I really really really really want to like this place.  It's owned by two awesome Russian women and they have many veggie options and interesting art and St. Petersburg paraphernalia and it's a few blocks away from where I live... and they actually have blended drinks!  Unlike almost all of the other coffee shops in the area, which are too traditional (read: pretentious) to blend anything, for fear, yeegawds! of someone thinking they're actually serving something the masses like.  (I'm obsessed with blended drinks.)

HOWEVER.  Re: those blessed blended drinks.  Out of the 6 or 7 times I've gone out of my way to go here in the past 2-3 months specifically for their blended drinks, they've been completely out at least half of the times, and the other times they've been out of all but one (1!) of the four (4!) advertised kinds.  Huh?  How does that even make sense?

Therefore, I no longer go here.  It's not worth the effort and the disappointment; if they're not willing to put in the work on their end to run the coffee shop they claim they are, I'm not willing to patronize them.   It's a waste of time.

PS: By the way, they do have a credit minimum of 5 dollars.

I live across the street from this place. Yeah the prices can get a little steep, but one thing for sure, its soooo cozy. i love it.   And their food is great. Excellent crepes (I'd suggest splitting one because theyre huge) and tasty hummus. I love coming in here with my laptop and settling into one of their comfy couches with a coffee and kicking back. I wish they stayed open later, but oh well.  Wifi, good coffee, laid back atmosphere.  Thumbs up for this place.

Hmmm...what's going on here? There are a few coffee pots here. Nothing  particularly spectacular. It's good coffee, but won't keep me from frequenting the coffee place across the street. They don't seem to care whether they have your business or not, and They seem to like to close on a whim, evacuating you from your indoor or outdoor seat at a moments notice. This has happened to me three times already. I figure...for coffee at a place that closes at the time posted on their hours of operation, and that is equally as tasty or better, I'll just go somewhere else.

Well, the internet seems to be fixed for now. How did they fix it?

Nina, the owner walked over and handed me a piece of paper with an 800 number on it and a cordless phone and told me to call ATT and complain. (English is her second language so she needed me to fight for her.)
After spending an hour on hold and talking with various ATT phone operators, and a half hour with a technical support person walking me through the steps to properly set up her internet, the WIFI finally works.

Not exactly what I had planned on getting done there that day, but hey, I did my part. What did you do today?

Been there once and won't be going back.  The cappuccino was good but the service really ticked me off.  We asked for two regular cappuccinos.  They gave us doubles.  When I asked why they gave us doubles, they acted like they didn't understand what the problem was.  This sort of thing is happening at more and more places and I'm really getting sick of it.  Eventually, I did get a refund but "what the hell!"

When I first saw the construction of this place I was excited to have a coffee shop in walking distance (and one that doesn't charge $12 for a cup of coffee like some of the other new joints in the neighborhood). The exterior had a rustic indie charm.
Now that it is open and I have been a few times I just really don't feel like it fits into the area- like it would be better suited in Hollywood.  The decor is like furniture you find at Ross in the clearance area, generic and non-descript. The music is blaring and the first time I went we had to leave because we couldn't concentrate on our conversation over the loud KISS FM playing.  I ordered an iced tea and was handed a bottled tea drink that I could have got at 7-11. I asked if they had just regular iced tea and the lady said no. They have a giant iced tea machine behind the counter so I asked her what that was she said Passion Fruit Iced Tea.  Most coffee shops I have been to have plain iced tea...or at least black tea bags that can be brewed then iced. It was very confusing. The lady working didn't seem too eager to be welcoming or helpful either.
Also, now they have hung an atrocious banner across the front of the building which just adds to the cheese factor. The hours are strange and seem to be sporadic.

In the old location of the Kids are Alright store, this is a welcome addition to the cafe choices of Echo Park. Very clean and super friendly service. Finally a place to get amazing crepes in the area. Very decadent pastries too, but I didn't go there.  In addition to the Nutella Crepe, they have things like "Hummus Plate" and other Veggie options. They serve Illy brand coffee known to be  a great coffee, but I went for a the pot of Fresh Mint tea...this included not just fresh mint, but cranberries and strawberry's as well! AND I was served on a square plate which always denotes a sense of class.

Half Vegetarian-mediterranean, half coffee place, and all friendliness. Very comfortable living-room-style seating, and strange but eye-catchy decor. The best dishes I say would be the falafel sandwich and the baklava, but there are other veggie dishes that may be as comparable, and lets not forget the nuttella and strawberry crepes...yuuummm. Free wi-fi a big plus. Best of all, its a mom-and-pop place, not over-rated like Intelligentsia.

a little strange --  Eastern Mediterranean (maybe even Black Sea) food and drink (including mint tea but not including Turkish Coffee which is sad) with a coffeeshop moderne interior and a neighborhood rustic exterior.  Good coffee, though,  and an easily found WEP code (1234567890) for the Wi-Fi make it a good place to spend time.

This is not the place to grab a quick to-go coffee.  This is not the place to have $10 coffee brewed tableside by a Guatamalen little person wearing a clown suit.  This is the place to sit for a while and sip coffee that tastes a little better than what you make at home and nibble on some snacks.  They have a surprising variety of snacks, including veggie burgers, hummus and some delicious-looking pastries.  Stick to hot coffee drinks -- they don't have proper glassware for cold coffee drinks and simply dropped some ice in a hot cup and called it an iced latte.  Service was slow, but with only one person working that's just gonna be how it is.  Nice, comfortable seats and outdoor seating are great  I really hope this place grows into the space because this area sorely needs a place to chill.

After the Backdoor Cafe closed (only to be replaced by Lamill and its Santa Monica / Brentwood wanna be prices and decor) I have been looking for a new place to walk my dog to for breakfast. I think it will progress nicely if supported by the locals.

I just discovered this cool little coffee shop that has recently opened up.  The coffee is great...on par with Intelligentsia but not as expensive.  And for a little cafe I must say that I was very impressed by the menu.  I would give them 5 stars but the service was a bit slow. They seemed under staffed.  But if you are not in a hurry then I highly recommend this place.

I really loved this place!  I didn't have any coffee, but shared a Middle Eastern Plate and a Veggie crepe with my friend.  The Hummus was perfect.  It was creamy, not too lemony or garlicky.  Everything else on the plate was great too, and I've had a lot of Middle Eastern food.  The crepe was a little more oily than I prefer, and more cheese than I would have liked, but it was still very tasty.
The service was slow, but not ridiculously so.  The woman who served us was GREAT.  I'll be going back for pastries...they looked better than anything I've seen in Silverlake Echo Park, other than maybe Lark.
