Review from Daryl I.
I swear, every time I buy a coffee at Starbucks, I feel my soul dies a venti at a time. That's why I was encouraged to find this small, out of the way shop in the Food 4 Less shopping center on Pepper, just north of the Arrowhead Medical Center.
The place has dark muted colors, (or maybe that was me, since I was in dire need of some caffeine at the time). They seemed to have drinks very similar to that of Starbucks, including caramel macchiato, and frappachino-like frozen coffee drinks. They also have boba drinks if that happens to be your thing (it's NOT my thing). I caved and ordered the carmel macchiato, and the most notable difference was that this coffee did not have that distinctive burnt cigarette taste that has become the hallmark of Starbucks, which was a pleasant experience. And, the people were just as nice and happy to help me as The Other Place.
Anyways, I'm proud to patronize an independent business, especially one that offers frequent buyers cards! -

I decided to go to this place after hearing how good it was from various co-workers. We've even had the coffee from here at some of our work gatherings and I thought it tasted pretty good. I've heard from others that their coffees are really good and that they also have boba drinks and that those are worth trying as well. I was convinced.
I went to the drive thru one day when I was in the 'hood. I was excited and even called my significant other that I was going to try a different coffee place other than my usual Coffee Bean. I decided to order an ice blended drink. I think it was a blended white chocolate drink. I tried it and was not too impressed. It didn't have a strong presence of the flavor I wanted. I sipped and sipped it all the way home and...nothing! I really tried to love it, but in the end I decided it was just so-so.
What I liked about the drive thru was that the girl who took my order was very polite! She even handed me a frequent buyer card so that I can earn a free drink if I decide to come often. Hmm...that was nice of her. : )
Because they have great customer service, I would return one day the next time I'm in the 'hood! -

Always glad to go someplace else than St**b**** and I have visited here several times in the last five or so years. I like the spare metal seats here-very cool. Obviously since these employees aren't locked in by the St******s code of Selling Ridiculous Amounts of Stuff That Isn't Even Coffee Related, the employees are more laid-back and happy and I'm always glad for that. Drinks here are of the usual variety. I'm a big latte fan and their lattes are very nice. Perhaps a bit pricey, but as Daryl said, I'm happy to give my money to an independent business. Also, don't sleep on their new location at Foothill and Riverside. Oh, one thing, I have a Mac and I had some difficulty at both locations connecting to their Wifi while I saw everyone else with their inferio...uh, PCs surfing and sipping quite happily. That said, I got some assistance with fixing the connectivity issue at this location and perhaps it was my ignorance about the intricacies of Wifi and not the fault of the server itself. Anyway.....go for the coffee...stay for the Wifi!
