Review from Karen A.

Best mocha I've ever had! All of the food looked so good, if we didn't visit directly after eating lunch I definitely would have ordered soup, a sandwich, or one of the many delicious looking baked good items.
Service was fast and very friendly. There was lots of space to have a nice coffee conversation or plug in a laptop to get work done with. I would have loved a place like this nearby when I was in college, but thank God I did not or I probably would have graduated 200lbs heavier, courtesy of the Cocoa Beanery mocha (which I would be more than happy to drink on a daily basis). -

Hershey, PA
Nice place that has a good amount of room inside and seating outside. It is located across the street from Penn St Hershey Hospital and basically in the same parking lot as the Applied Research Building.
They appear to have a descent sized breakfast and lunch menu along with the usual coffees, chai, tea, smoothies, etc. They label their drink sizes just like "the other" coffee co. The coffee was better than the other "guys" and so was the blueberry muffin. While I was waiting on my order one of the employees brought a box of fresh fruit out. Never saw that at the other "guys."
Not sure if they have free wi-fi or not. Regardless I do plan on making this my "second" office, especially when the weather warms up. Just, FYI they have a buyers card where you buy 9 cups and get the 10th free and/or show your HMC or HCAR ID and your 9th is free. -

Yummmmmm.
This place has about all your could ask for in a local coffee shop. The atmosphere is great, the coffee is good, and the food is de-lish. The food does seem a bit on the expensive side of things, but then it's all worth it in the end. -

Similar to Starbucks, but better atmosphere, better tasting coffee and specialty drinks, a little cheaper, not a chain, and a great place for a drink. Will be back!

A quiet oasis of a coffee shop in a refurbished farmhouse off by itself on a hill overlooking the University of Pennsylvania Hershey Medical Center.
Lighting and decor in the main area very bright and modern. Two cozy rooms off to the side have sofas and overstuffed chairs.
Selection of baked goods very appetizing and fresh. Coffee is top quality. A great way to get away from it all. -

This is overall a good place to go for coffee or lunch. It is owned by Hershey Foods so the food is institutionalized a little, as someone else said. It is also a bit overpriced. However, it has a nice selection of drinks and a couple of private rooms for conferences which are very nice. Food is prepared pretty well. Would probably give it 3 and a half stars.

Cocoa Beanery is in a great location out in the middle of the fields near Penn State's medical research complex. An old farmhouse refurbished to make room for large groups and also to individual studiers and small conversations. Sadly, the food here is institutional (and has become more that way since it opened) and overpriced. The coffee is okay but the espresso drinks are tasteless and sometimes bitter. If you're not set on coffee, go with the iced tea, which is usually good.

Good coffee, great salad (summer spinach with blueberries, strawberries, and grated asiago - mmmm....), and wonderful atmosphere. I loved that it was located in an old farmhouse. Beautiful hardwood floors and ornate trim mixed with modern features (cool lights, comfy furniture, mounted flat screen tvs). Plenty of space and located along a trail. I would recommend this cafe to anyone -- it saved my day when we were in town for a lacrosse tournament.

If you've ever been to the luxurious Hershey Lodge, you'll no doubt be familiar with the sweet smells of gourmet coffees, specialty drinks, and pastries drifting through the halls thanks to the Lodge's Cocoa Beanery Coffee Shop and Cafe. It's a really nice stop, but unfortunately I can't say I'm a frequent visitor to the Lodge, even with my season pass to HersheyPark. That being said, I was delighted to learn about the renovation and conversion of a beautiful old farm house adjacent to the Hershey Center for Applied Research and the Hershey College of Medicine for the sole purpose of a stand alone Cocoa Beanery. Not only does the new cafe serve its usual product line of delicious baked goods and specialty drinks, but sandwiches and salads as well, and they are open until 7pm daily!
The new location at 1215 Research Boulevard is really a relaxing spot, and the converted farmhouse is absolutely gorgeous inside. Fixtures like hard wood floors and a winding old stairway are combined with contemporary lighting and furniture to produce a really comfortable atmosphere. The prices are pretty typical of a cafe, but the turkey and ham pannini sandwich I ordered was extremely delicious. I recommend stopping by for yourself to see the new renovations, the new Cocoa Beanery Cafe is well worth the visit. -

sitting in the Cocoa Beanery Cafe right now. As a visitor to the area for work, I think have found a new place to hang out and surf the internet! Super cute, quiet and comfortable! There are 2 "parlors" off the to right of the cafe with chairs and sofas. Awesome space. Lots of students studying so it is quiet and relaxing. SO much better than hanging out in a Panera or Starbucks, if you are looking for quiet relaxed atmosphere. Downside is they close at either 6p or 7p, depending on weekend vs. weekday. It was hard to find via GPS though. It is off of Bullfrog Valley Rd, literally next to the Hospital. I'm afraid to post that as this quiet oasis may soon become more busy than a Starbucks in Time Square!

This is a nice coffee shop to either grab some food, or just get a cup of coffee and spend some time. The coffee selection is about what you would expect, nothing too out of the ordinary. Free wifi is always good, and I was pleased by the couch and table selection for sitting down, as I love to sit. This place can definitely get crowded, especially in the morning, which is a good sign to me that people see a reason to go to the place, of course it's location probably has a lot to do with that. I would suggest headphones if you're looking for peace, as there are usually more than a few people having conversations they feel are important enough to talk very loudly about, but you get that at a lot of places. Also, try the bagels, they're good.
