My expectations were exceeded here. We went to the Coco Key in Fitchburg last year and the Danvers location is better. The place is clean and actually wasn't that crowded the Friday after Thanksgiving.
We chose to get a cabana which was great. We were able to sneak in some of our own food to avoid the bad chain cafeteria stuff. The grandparents hung out in the cabana while the kids were running around.
Coco Key has something for all ages. There is a toddler section, a 4-6 year old huge water park structure and then 4 fast slide that you have to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to. The guy working the big slide was just great with my son and my son was ecstatic because he is exactly 48" and can now go on the big slides!
The big slides were fun for adults as well. The body slide in the dark is scary the first time down. I would say that if you are there without kids, I would alternate the big slides with the bar...
The bar serves all kinds of smoothies and has some alcohol drinks as well.
The showers had a broken shower sprayer and a seat was wobbly in there. It was expensive but the kids loved it and we will definitely return next year. -

This place is a dorm room. The beds were disgusting . The hallways were deplorable. Pissy stairwells greeted us because one of the 3 elevators worked. we are from new York never experienced such racism. One of the hotel stayers assumed I was an employee mind you I wasn't dressed in any inkling of hotel attire

This is supposed to be a Hotel/Spa/Water Park, water is filthy in the water park and in the pool. There were creepy crawley bugs in the steam room and I came home with an ear infection.
WiFi in the rooms is horrible, cannot connect most of the time.
NEVER AGAIN -

This is a great find on the North Shore if your looking to do something with the kids that can last all day. We were able to get tickets through a promotion for $10 (normally $32!!) so I felt we got a good value at that deal. The kids (ages 9 & 7) really had a blast. They loved the slides, the lazy river, the pools etc. It's certainly not for the germaphobe. I didn't put my face in the water and really didn't enjoy swimming with hundreds of other people.
The food is a total rip off. Here's a tip- bring a small discrete cooler of snacks and drinks so you don't have to spend $20 on a personal size crappy pizza (think mama Celeste) and chicken fingers.
The also have an arcade with games. The locker rooms are ok condition but for hundreds of people they need more toilets and showers. It's almost like they want dirty bodies in the pool to use it as a bathroom.
3 stars if you can find a coupon online and enjoy it for the day. Not worth $32 a person but worth a bargain price. -

It's taken me some time to wrap my head around how to start this review. We went some time in February and I am just now able to sit down and get my thoughts in order on this place.
I'm giving it 5 stars. That's right. It has awful food, loud kids and a some of the least appealing men in bathing suits you will ever see in your time here on this big planet.
However, here begins my argument for why this place is 5 star-rific. Having lived in Massachusetts for my entire existence (give or take a few years in college-but who REALLY remembers those days anyway?) I am used to winters. I am used to chapped lips, cold noses and a chill that just won't go away no matter how many Snuggies you pile on. I'm used to wearing boots, hats, gloves, mittens over those gloves, and sweaters under those jackets. I'm used to squinting in the Southie Fort Point gusts and swearing to all that is holy I will one day move to a more temperate climate. Year after year we all endure the winters, with thoughts of sipping cocktails on a patio in the summer. We hang on to the gossamer thread that are our short New England summers with the highest hopes that warm weather is closer and closer with every passing sub-zero day.
So when a couple of friends let us know about this spot in Danvers, they didn't need to tell us much more than that there was a bar inside and that they kept that place at a balmy 86 degrees year round. For the price of the stay and play package, its the white trash stay-cation dreams are made of.
Sure there are screaming kids running around. SURE there are some fine examples of "What Not to Wear" just about everywhere you look. The food tops out at Pizza Hut, which may I add is the best option you have inside the park. But when you are double-fisting margaritas and vodka sprites like its the last day you'll drink on earth, Pizza Hut ends up working out just fine.
Oh yea, I completely forgot to mention the awesome water slides, the lazy river and the big hot tub to ease your winter bones. You completely forget its cold outside, you completely forget you're in Danvers.... actually... I completely forget a lot of this weekend...
ANNNNYYYWHO... The stay and play package is 90 bucks per couple for four people, which includes two full days at the water park and a nice room in the hotel for the night. The hotel is actually very nice and we were happy with our rooms. We were also happy to have an ice machine for our booze and no trouble with the neighbors when our boyfriends were playing the air guitar to the metal on their ipod.
Case and point: this place is a perfect way to spend a weekend when you've had it up to your eyeballs with being cold, fighting to stay warm and having icicle toes. Grab your suit and get your pasty bee-hind to Coco Keys for a little winter warmer that will get you back on your feet and ready to take on the last weeks of winter. -

We arrived shortly after opening on a Sunday, around 10:20 AM to discover the water park already packed, which would have been a good guess considering the lot to get in was almost full as well. I didn't mind the crowd because I went from being in 40 degree weather to about 85 inside. :) We had reserved a cabana three plus weeks in advance for a birthday party and this comes HIGHLY recommended. You'll never get a cabana on a weekend if you do it last minute, so you've got to think in advance in terms of ensuring one is reserved, and it was only $75 which to me is a steal considering you get the following with a cabana.
- A flat screen 32" TV with cable (about 20 channels but it was sufficient)
- A small fridge (I'll talk about later)
- Plugs for things like cell phones and/or iPod dock like we brought
- Overhead lighting as well as a ceiling fan
- Nice sized couch for napping, even for two people at once
- A kitchen table to eat at
The cabana gets a score of 9/10.....I probably would have given it a perfect score if there was any PRIVACY with it. We ended up near one of the corners but I still wish we had some kind of curtain that could be pulled. I can probably think of 10 reasons they may not want someone shutting the doors in one but still, something covering the entrance would have been nice.
The fridge was excellent because frankly, we snuck food and drink inside. Nothing lavish, just a few bottles of water and soda along with some snacks. I wished we could have just taken a cooler in full of sandwiches and kept them cold for the day but reading that they may check coolers at the entrance, I didn't want to risk it. I understand they may not want a ham and cheese floating in the kiddie pool but forcing you to buy absolute garbage as food (which I will get into later) keeps the overall park score down. Nothing upsets me more than MAKING people buy $4 french fries or $8.50 chicken salads. We understand, you want to gouge us, but at least offer up something semi-healthy.
The cattle line for food began forming around 11:30 and probably didn't let up until 2:00. It was easily a 20 minute wait to get A&W greasy burgers/frieds/dogs or Pizza Hut (barf). I peeked into our neighbor's cabana and noticed someone eating a salad so I asked where they got it. Alas, they have salads and wraps for sale!! Nobody tried the wrap but the salad wasn't bad, it was just ovepriced at almost $9 with tax and only one of two left in the case so I think if I was 5 minutes later I may not have gotten one. So they charge $5 for a 700 calorie burger and 33% more than that for a healthy option? And we wonder why America is obese *rolls eyes*. Oh yes, and the reason that once again the cabana is awesome is because it looked like people were literally fighting over an area to eat their food with a sign up that there is a 30 minute time limit. We never had this problem because we were able to take lunch back to the cabana, ca ching!
Did someone mention there is also a water park? Of course we enjoyed this to its fullest as well. The longest lines of the day were for the lazy river, mainly because nobody is kicking out the people that may have spent an hour in it. That's fine because once you get in, you yourself may want to take 10 laps before you're bored (I'd say each lap takes about 3 - 4 minutes to complete, it's not overly big). We waited 20+ minutes to get on the ride at the peak of the afternoon crowd. The lines for the largest four water slides (two tube & two body slides) never seemed to be more than 15 min. and they were very efficient in getting people down the slides as quickly as they could, so thumbs up there. There were no small children with us so we didn't utilize those areas. One of them took a poopy which closed down the area for over an hour while we watched the poor, high school aged lifeguard going into the water with gloves and a bag to pull it out, blah. So parents, take note that accidents can and do occur in this area, I don't think you would have gotten me into the water of that section.....it's like a giant petri dish.
The tube slides were the best part, especially when you could start out going down backwards if the lifeguard didn't see you and it was even better in the all dark tunnel. The body slides were meh, they hurt my back going over each section so we only went on once. We probably had 3-4 hours of solid fun in and around the water area over an 8 hour visit, for being indoors in winter in a water park, it's quite nice.
But alas, we became thirsty for adult drinks. The tropical drink menu wasn't overly big, with about eight listed but everyone was happy with their selection. Drinks were $8 each and I wasn't feeling it much after I finished it so I don't think they are very strong. The bar had a nice Tiki feeling to it and it was cool you could wear your swimsuit without any shoes. The nachos were out of a bag with liquid cheese, nasty. -

I don't like amusement parks. Lines, people, crappy food, commercial shitshow. . just. . . .Blllleleeeeeeaaaaah. *shudder*
So. . .I wasn't sure what to expect when I found that all my kids had been invited to a birthday party of one of their classmates at CoCo Key. I was glum. I was cranky. I had to put a bathing suit on my lily white 10lbs up for the winter ass. Grump. I ALMOST ran screaming the other direction.
We got there. . .ooh. It's warm in here. I like warm. The water's warm too, though the temp varies in each area. My two oldest were gone immediately and I didn't see them for hours. That's OK with me. My 5 year old played for hours in the kiddie area. I supervised. Which means I played in the kiddie area. eeeeeeeeeeeeeee! And when I was done playing, I just looked at all the bodies in bathing suits. Fat ones, Skinny ones. Little sausage-legged baby ones. Old wrinkly ones. I counted male tramp stamps for a challenge. Only 4.
The hot tub rocked. It's spacious and partitioned, and hot. There is all kinds of fun for all ages, big slides, little slides, games, fountains, water guns, pools. . .in the warm weather, looks like the hot tub and pool are indoor/outdoor. The changing areas/bathroom/showers were clean and large.
The have a huge movie screen that you can watch a movie on while bobbing about. I lost my child for a moment because I was watching Kung Fu Panda. . .
The party room was big and bright and clean, and pizza hut pizza and cake with hoodsies was served, along with lemonade and orange soda. Kids got goodie bags and a credit-loaded card for the arcade. Then, back to the water park. It is amazing how water soothes the savage sugar fortified child.
You say it's like lukewarm soup made with hundreds of human bodies and kid pee? LALALALALALALALALALALAALAAAAAA I can't hear you!!!!! (And besides, they chloro-brominate the living shit outta that place. Er. . . pun? And the water is circulated and filtered continually)
Each of us now smells like a bottle of bleach.
There is a bar for big people who need further soothing. -

Short and sweet. I have a 6 and 3 year old. If you're in similar situation, this is what you need to know:
1. it's freezing - the 3year old had a hard time handling that
2. the big slide is not for small kids - the 6 year old couldn't ride it because she wasn't tall enough
3. there is only one area that our 3year old had fun in - not able to go down any of the larger or the mid size slides - absolutely no slides for the 'FAMILY" like the website eludes to
4. most of the stuff was closed off at some point, there was never a moment when EVERYTHING was open - lazy river was never open and we were there during spring break and they were filled to capacity and then everything else becomes overly crowded
overall, this is so not worth it. I've been to other indoor water parks and all of them were so much better. the kids had fun, but i wouldn't go back. -

Are YOU the type of person who is sitting on his ass never able to come up with something to DO??
"What do you want to do?" "I don't know I'm so boring and lame I never have any ideas."
Well HERE is a great idea you silly little freak.
How about COCO KEY? This place has FOUR giant water slides that rock! Two you slide on your butt and two you slide on a tube and it's a long hairy fun ride. (2 in the dark)
They have an indoor and outdoor hot tub.
There is a pool with a basketball court in it. Ever play pool B-ball? FUN.
There is a BAR. yes a BAR there with TV's for game watching and FOOD.......good food. A&W rootbeer food, pizza, burgers......
They have a bunch of smaller slides that are also fun and a giant bucket that fills up and dumps 1,000,000 gallons of water on your head.
There is little kiddie section too. I wasn't aloud in there.
It's at the Sheraton in Danvers so you could even stay and play!
They did a free before five special last month, they advertised on their Facebook page and I went FOUR times because I am a silly little freak.
The north shore is full of rainy, snowy activities like Coco Key, Strike One, Monster Golf & Bowling.......to name a few.
So Come ON up TO the FUN party NORTH of Boston, you lame little monkey's!!!!!Listed in: SECRET's golden places -…

Thank you, Dave and Paula, for inviting me to this wonderful place. Dave works for an organization that organizes youth activities throughout the year.
Wow! What can I say? Opened in May 22, 2007, it's Massachsetts' largest indoor water resort. I love the resort's tagline: "Whatever the weather outside - It's always Florida inside"
Adjoined to the Sheraton Ferncroft Hotel, this 65,000-sq. ft. indoor waterpark packs a one-two punch! Who would have expected in a million years that this amazing entertainment contraption would find a home in Danvers, MA? CoCo Key locates itself to existing properties. Current locations include Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Columbus, OH, Rockford, IL, Mount Laurel, NJ; Cincinnati, OH; Kansas City, MO; and Omaha, NE
Water fun can be had for all ages -- from young children to adult-age children to mature adults. The Parrot's Perch interactive play center sits in the center of the waterpark, which contains two medium water slides. Two thumbs up on these slides. A lifeguard is always stationed at the slide entrance to manage line flow and safety. As a matter of fact, there is an army of lifeguards outfitted with their snazzy red CoCo Ts.
Off to the side is a section called the "Dip-In Theatre," a shallow pool with pea-sized slides; there are flat screen TV monitors, but you can't hear any sound given the loud music playing overhead and general noise. I was told that a movie is shown each night at 8pm. They dim the lights and people can sit in a tube to enjoy a movie.
In the River Ride, you float down the river on a raft. It's mild and gets interesting when you have a raft jam.
I did the lily pad walk challenge and made it across to the other side without falling into the water. For a moment there, I felt like a Survivor participant. Adjacent to the lily pad walk is a water basketball pool. A floating green serpent is there for anyone brave enough to mount on it. One might get thrown off into the water several times before it allows the person to "tame it".
Water is squirting and spilling from all different directions due to hoses, fountains, and tipping buckets. I love the tipping buckets. One can pull a string and tip the bucket to splash an oblivious passerby or a water slider. The biggest splash -- or better known as a massive downpour -- occurs every five minutes in which the big blue bucket situated at the top of Parrot's Perch gets filled up and tipped over. Anyone caught milling below are drenched! It happens so suddenly that it takes one's breath away. You literally stand under a waterfall. Even when you are outside of the drench zone, you can feel the wind gush pass you due to the splash force. This is one of my favorites.
The big, bad waterslides are Shark Slam, Gator Gush, Barracuda Blast and Pelican Plunge; there are two dark and two light slides. You can bring a raft to ride the slide or go sans raft. Young children must meet minimum height requirement of 48" to enter.
There is an outdoor and an indoor jacuzzi. Both are awesome, but I personally prefer outdoor jacuzzis. There is an arcade that includes redemption games and prizes, but I did'nt go in to check it out. Sorry.
As it relates to dining inside the park, the only two options one has is between Pizza Hut and A&W Root Beer -- yawn, nothing to write home about. There is a restaurant at the Sheraton Ferncroft, but you'll have to change into more presentable clothes to not look like a freak. Or, you could drive out to Rte 1 and find something you prefer. I did just that and found the 1-hr lunch break welcoming. I returned to Coco Key for more action.
Verdict: You need to purchase a minimum of four tickes to get in. So find three other people to go with you; tt's only 19 miles north of Boston. You and your family or friends will have such a blast. It won't disappoint. An indoor water resort is different and so it doesn't matter what the weather is like outside. There is one family bathroom that includes a shower and a changing table along with a couple of benches.
Below is ticketing information taken directly from CoCo Key Water Resort online eTicket store (as of 8.10.07):

Kids love it but... Long lines to water slides and not enough signage. Food was mediocre and if eating off property is option take it. Make sure you bring soap to showers after being in park. Guys bathrooms were pretty gross. Not enough staff ! Piles of towels in Men's locker room is a sign nobody cares enough. Its a good place that could be great if management would take ownership or at the very least control.

Although the hotel itself is not particularly nice, the water resort is a very good time. I will focus on the water park for this review and that deserves 4 stars. the water park and the hotel are independently owned.
There is nothing like an indoor water park when it is well below freezing outside.
They have water slides of varying sizes for kids of different ages and a large pool with a screen for showing movies.
The food choices are typically fast food nothing great, but it is better than leaving the resort.
They also have a full bar, just don't drink and slide ;-)
They have had a few issues with too much chlorine and the water resort has been shut down, but they seem to be getting that under control.
As for the hotel, it is an older Sheraton and is in need of a refurb.
They have had their fair share of issues over the years.
You can look them up on google and see what I mean.
The water pressure for the showers is non existent, this is a major pain if your trying to get the chlorine out of your hair and off of your skin. The rooms are also not the cleanest probably do to the large turnover of room with people only staying one night.
The only reason I stay here is the package deals are not much more than a day at the pools. So you get two days at the water park and breakfast plus a room. -

We chose to escape the 10 degree weather by playing hookey on a Friday with another couple and heading to CoCo Key. We made several excellent decisions I'd suggest to any adults going here without kids:
1) eat before you go - the food choices are pretty gross (we ate lunch beforehand and arrived around 1:30pm)
2) go during the day, not at night, though shockingly there were still many children running around
3) splurge on a private cabana
So we arrived and were so so so excited! It's smaller than you might expect - with only a few things really exciting for adults (the jacuzzi and the big water slides). Most are geared towards kids. That's fine, though and to be expected.
It's supposed to be always 84 degrees but at times felt in the 70s. Maybe we adjusted but I felt cold periodically, especially when we first arrived - they were having heat issues and I did complain and they were resolved.
The water temp in the lazy river was COLD. This was an issue. We probably would have spent much more time there if it were warmer.
There's a very fun water slide system - you climb all the way to the top and have your choice of four slides, all very fun, some through dark tunnels.
If you are looking for an escape, the cabanas are an absolute MUST. Room enough for 2-3 on the couch with 4 chairs at a table, plus a fridge and a safe, and a TV ( though you can't really hear anything because of the ambient noise), it was a nice little getaway from the loud kids outside. The cabana was definitely worth the $50.
Around 5, the place started to fill up and we left at 7 - it was too much of a circus for us. But we had a fun 5 hours at CoCo Key and really was exactly what we needed on a cold February.
I do hope that the air and water temperatures are usually warmer, though. In the future, I'd like to go in the absolute middle of the week, hopeful that fewer parents took their kids out of school on a Wednesday to go. I'd like to make a yearly habit out of this. -

What could have been an absolute disaster was handled with first class customer service by the staff at CoCo Key Water Resort.
I had promised my son that he could take 5 friends to the water park for his birthday and spent days on the website, unsuccessfully, to purchase tickets, even though the date showed available, etc. So, I loaded the kids in the car and headed to CoCo Key to be there right when they opened at 10am. When we arrived, there was a sign posted on the door stating: SOLD OUT. The line was LONG. The kids were worried. I asked them to sit down and relax, while I asked what the situation was. When I was able to speak with the receptionist she apologized for the problem with website and explained that, unfortunately, they were sold out. I explained that the website said it was available, NOT SOLD OUT, and that I had 6 kids for my son's birthday party and that at her discretion, she could do the right thing for me. Had the website told me that it was sold out, I would not be standing there. It took some gentle convincing, but in the end, she DID let us in. Later, I wandered back out to the desk because I was having the same problem, trying to book a return trip during February Break. This time, the manager was at the desk and as soon as I mentioned it to her, she said: "Let me guess, you are on a Mac." Well, apparently, that is a known issue! Their online system doesn't work with Macs. She apologized and helped book my return, applying the online discount code that I wanted to use. She also offered to help me out that day as well, gave me her card and told me to call ahead to see if any cabanas became available, etc.
Here was a situation that could have been disastrous and ended up with me writing a nasty-gram on Yelp, but instead, the personnel did the right thing, courteously, and in the end, created an advocate.
And, like other posters, I should go on record saying that I LOATHE amusement parks, indoor anything, screaming children (other than mine of course!), and other environments that serve as human petri-dishes for flus, colds, viruses, infections. I will gladly bring my kids back with a few friends during vacation week. From me, that's a miracle. Just ask any of my friends!

My friend and I took our kids here on MLK day, obviously a school holiday. There were six of us total and we thought we prepared accordingly.
Do not get me wrong, so much fun was had by all (ages 2, 3, 10, & 10). I read everything I could find on line for tip, tricks, and any other parent's two cents before we went. I did not read a single negative comment, I thought we were in store for a Disney experience.
Before I start here I do realize it was an extra busy day (MLK holiday). With that being said, I think that the water and the temperature in the place could have been turned up. Once in the slightly cool water the adults were cold. OH WOW fun.....buckets of cool water fell from the apparatus above. So cute and fun, had it been warm enough to enjoy it.
The two 10 year olds went running off to the slides. I felt very safe letting them go on their own. They knew where we were sitting and the checked in accordingly. They were easily watched from one end to the other. We thought 65,000 feet would have seemed bigger. No big deal.
There was a lot to do for the little kids, they enjoyed the slides, water tables and spouts.
The line to the "lazy river" was silly. You need to wait until the floating people decide they are done before you get a raft. 2 year olds do not want to wait 20 minutes for a raft. Not to mention, the thought of getting into the "river" is chilling.
Went over to the "spa". Yeah, lets warm up. CLOSED! What? closed? WHY?
Every adult I see is shivering, every small child is shivering with blue lips.
Overall, we had a really good time but I am not sure it is worth the high price of admission. My suggestions are to bring snacks and drinks, which we did. The lines for food were pretty ridiculous. I assumed there would be lines and the food would be expensive but it would have been nice if there were kiosks for those who just wanted to grab a quick bottle of water or whatever. Also, bring plastic bags for your wet clothes.
The lifeguards were afraid to get wet, only blowing the whistle when more than one person attempted to go down the slide at a time. It was actually pretty comical watching them roll their eyes if they got splashed and they had to fix their hair, not to mention the rhythm they lost while they were singing along to the blasting music. My advice is to act as though there are no lifeguards and you will be fine.
Bring warm clothes and have fun!
An added note: I think if you stay over you get the best experience. -

I'm strict with my ratings. What this place lacks is proper ventilation in summer months. Too loud inside as well. Other than those 2 somewhat minor complaints it's really a fun place.

first off, I want to say, that my family had a great time at coco key. We stayed here during their cocoween promotion and it was very family friendly. There were lots of treats for the kids and it seemed well staffed. The best part was that there were lots of things for our nine year old, as well as our three year old. It wasn't too crowded and we were there on a friday night and a saturday. My wife and I also had lots of fun on the water slides, which definitely give you a rush!
I also wanted to address some of the negative reviews. It seems like people were disappointed with the park. Not sure what they were expecting! It was pretty much what we thought it would be.
If you are expecting disney land, or even water country, then, yeah, you'll be dissapointed. But its not. Its not perfect, but its pretty close.
Tips: stay over on a weekend night and get two days at the park. Bring snacks and eat out at a restaurant, theres plenty in the area. -

Your children will love you. Maybe they already do, whatever. Either way, you are the coolest if you take them here.
It is kinda expensive if you are going for a day trip. $40 a person with a 4 person minimum. However, we went for an over night stay and it was well worth it. We got a hotel room for the night, 4 passes to the water park the day we checked in and 4 passes the next day when we checked out. $160 still, but you get a bit more. Not too bad.
They keep it 84 degrees in there. I was surprised to read Nina R.'s review that she was cold. We were too warm.
They have t.v.'s and a bar if you aren't into the water thing. They have clean bathrooms and showers. You can rent a locker if you don't have a hotel room.
I will stay the staff was LAME. The life guards were way too young and cool to deal with kids appropriately.
Rt. 1 is right there for lots of dining options. The hotel itself was well kept and nice enough.
Our boys had a blast, which is the best part.
DO NOT go on a holiday or vacation week. If you do be prepared. You will certainly be in need of an endless supply of Valium and some sort of tracking device for the kiddies. -

Back story:
My sister and her husband were married in March in NJ where they reside. Both wanted to come visit over the July 4th weekend and stay at the Crowne Plaza in Danvers and frolic in the Coco Key Water Resort in part because they're kids at heart and because we assumed that the park would be perfect entertainment for my two kids ages 2 and 7.
Let's start with the room at the Crowne Plaza:
The room was nice enough. It had a king size bed and pull out couch and seemed quite clean. The wallpaper was peeling a little and the carpet seemed a bit worn but other than the usual wear and tear one expects, it wasn't bad.
The air conditioner in the room at the Crowne Plaza, was on non-stop for the duration of their stay. The thermometer reached into the 90's for most of the visit and maybe the high temp contributed BUT the ac worked intermittently for all 3 days of their stay. Also, there was a weird odor emanating from the ac. To be blunt, the air coming out of the ac smelled like terrible flatulence. My sister and her husband didn't complain to the front desk and get a change of room so I have no idea if this issue was restricted to their room or not. All I know is that it smelled pretty bad and was not coming from anyone INSIDE of the room.
FYI: The Crowne Plaza DOES NOT have it's own pool or gym. Guests are able to swim at the pool run by the gym who co-shares some of the hotel space. For $5.00/hr a hotel guest can swim to their hearts delight...
Another FYI: My sister and I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant which she billed to the room. Total cost of breakfast $233.00 and we are still dealing with the billing department to get this resolved...
CoCo Key Water Resort:
Man this place was a let down. I brought my 2 year old who was just too small to enjoy anything. The din in the water park is constant and throbbing. There's a small area all the way on the right of the water park, that caters to small kids but was over run with bigger kids who couldn't play on the bigger slides but were clearly too big to play in the toddler area. In the toddler section, there are 3 smallish waterslides as well as water fountains and spouts.
The waterslides are for kids under the height of 48" and for a small guy like my 2 year old, not doable alone. For my 7 year old, the kiddie area was boring -lots of toddlers screaming and playing is not fun for a "big kid" and is too much for a really little kid.
The middle of the park is comprised of 2 largish waterslides -perfect for a 7 year old- and 3 smaller slides. When I visited, one of the smaller waterslides was out of commission and the staff weren't doing a great job monitoring the ins and outs of the larger slides. My sister whisked a small child out of the way of one of the bigger slides when a child rocketed out of the slide at the bottom and almost took the child at the bottom out.
Surrounding the middle area of waterslides is a lazy river. The lazy river is only 2.5 feet deep and the tube the rider sits in is pushed by some type of current around the circumference of the middle slide area. The lazy river was pleasant enough when we rode on it the second day but on the first day we were there, they didn't open it due to 3 hours worth of concurrent staff breaks that ran from 10am-1pm.
The last area of slides -actually just 1 slide- is a huge, 3 story indoor/ outdoor snake of a slide. This slide looked like fun but my 7 year old was under the required 48" to ride.
The other couple parts of the park that bear noting were the 2 small indoor pool areas which are set up with basketball hoops and a sort of obstacle course and the outdoor/indoor adults only spa/hot tub area. These were ok however the hot tub area is not monitored by a lifeguard and though the rules clearly state that the hot tub is NOT to be used by anyone under the age of 18 due to health issues, we saw several kids go in it.
A few more things: Contrary to what the website boasts, there isn't a pool side bar where drinks get served to an adult while in the pool. Also, the food is really overpriced and gross -that's for another longer review :)
All in all, I wish we had gone to Canobie Lake or another outdoor water park which would have cost about the same amount. $40 tickets for anyone over the age of 2, $4.25/swimmy diaper, $8.00 yucky pizza. Two thumbs down. -

This is the 2nd time I've visited this location within 2 years. Today was Easter Sunday (thinking it would not be busy). I took my husband and three kids (ages 4, 13, 14). My 4 year old loves this place, but the other two were grossed out. The place was a zoo. There were kids running up the toddler/kids stairs and pushing other kids out of the way. There were kids cutting the line (kids were trying to get onto the slide and other kids would jump right in front of them). The kids would get on the slide and slide down before waiting for the kid that already went down the slide to get off the slide (there were kids slamming into other kids in the water). Kids were not cleared away from the bottom of the slide and allowed to hang out at the bottom....so it would then cause another kid to get hurt while coming down the slide. The lifeguards basically did nothing. The pool water had a "slimy" feel to it. Felt like it wasn't "clean". The wet floors were "slime-like" almost like an invisible moss was growing there. Someone threw a life jacket on top of one of the mushroom-like water falls in the kids area (no one did anything). You had to walk all over the place to find chairs (there were none...we had to wait for someone to get up). I asked for chairs and they had only what was on the floors. There were quite a few ignorant people, kids/teens there making it very hard to try and enjoy whatever you could enjoy. I heard the Fitchburg location is no better. My step daughter went to that one and said it was smaller and gross too.
We spent $138 on tickets (5 of us...we did the" buy 2 get one free AAACOCO "coupon) and left in less than 2 hours.
Overall, it was disgusting. It wasn't like this the first time we went. It was definitely cleaner. I don't understand how the water felt "slimy". We couldn't wait to get out of there and shower.
I stayed at the hotel 2 years ago and did the package...that was not worth it because the hotel was horrible. That was when it was the Sheraton. The water park was cleaner though. I actually enjoyed the water park then. -

We took a chance and visited during the Christmas vacation week. It was AWESOME!
We choose an overnight stay package, and for about $200, got 4 passes for 2 days, our hotel stay and a most excellent buffet breakfast. It was a deal.
We expected the place to be crowded, but it wasn't too bad. We easily found a table to sit at. Changing rooms were immaculate and large. They ran out of towels the first day we were there, so you may want to bring your own. The food choices weren't very healthy and were a bit expensive ($8 for a roast beef sandwich) but that's to be expected. Besides, they had a Starbucks on premises, so that makes up for it! :)
Our kids (ages 12 and 10) loved it. As soon as we got there, they took off and we didn't see them for about 4 hours. They enjoyed the basketball pool and the 4 giant water slides. We took our infant (9 months) into the dip in theater - a kiddie attraction that was perfect for her.
It was really warm in the resort and the water temp was perfect for us. You're not supposed to bring your own food, but many people around us did. Next time, I think I'll bring water and fruit.
It was well worth the money. Especially since it was about 13 degrees outside when we visited. Oh, that and the fact that our kids passed out afterwards!
