It's difficult to rate this restaurant for a few reasons. The food was fantastic but the atmosphere is very...strange. Since a dining experience is almost equal amounts of both - it's kind of a wash.

I went with some friends for happy hour and we ended up eating dinner as well. The happy hour deal was wonderful - half priced martinis with a plate of tapas to boot. The tapas plates were great, even if the drinks were a bit on the weak side.

We were seated for dinner and we were literally the only people in the whole place - on a Friday night.  We did see a few people wander in, but apparently none wanted to stay (most likely due to the pricey menu).  A family even came in and sat down, just to promptly get up and leave about five minutes later.

It was unusual to say the least.  The food, however, as I mentioned, was absolutely delicious.  Some of the best scallops I've ever eaten and I truly loved the mashed potatoes they were served with.

Overall, it's very iffy that I would eat there again, but if you're someone who loves great food and you don't care about eating in a place that's more silent than a tomb, then this might be right up your alley!

    3 people; 3 entrees, 4 drinks (non-happy hour special) was about $175

Recently went there on a week night. Place was deserted. Sat in a Banquet overlooking the art museum and the lake. Nice view. Started with drinks and The Fire Shrimp app. The drinks were great and the Fire Shrimp delicious.

Entrees were Cedar Plank Walleyes that were very moist and flavorful. It was a little spooky that were were the only ones in the place for most of the evening. the view was good, the food was good and the drinks were outstanding.

After dinner we retired to the bar for after dinner drinks. Had some Limencello and left. I would have thought more about this place if others were there.

Weird. But, very good. Come here because I want some company next visit.

Came here in January with my sweetie when we checked out the Martin Ramirez exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum (which is an incredible space, by the way). First off, there was a mullet sighting at the bar. Not a good first impression, but okay...whatever.

The restaurant is attractive enough but watch out for the steep stone path leading you down to the seating by the windows. Holy cow...whoever designed that probably never wore heels. Treacherous. Fraught with peril. Thank goodness for the steel cable handrails.

Anyway, it was prime time...Saturday night...around 8:30 or so. The place was dead. There were a handful of dumpy folks at the bar (including said mullet-wearer), one elegant looking but overtanned sixty-something couple, and the two of us. Wow. What a party atmosphere. But, ever the optimist, I thought...well...it will be an intimate evening anyway.

The service was friendly but the food was subpar. They provide this "specialty" bread that was a like a deep fried lump of lard covered yeast. Now I love me some bread like somepeople love their crack. But this stuff...yeeech. I wanted to spit out my first bite and wipe my mouth clean with the edge of my skirt...but decorum prevailed.

The salad was fine enough but, regrettably, my ahi tuna entree arrived well done rather than med-rare. A huge difference, man. By the time the new order came, my dining companion had long finished. Pretty annoying.

If we had dessert, which I doubt, I cannot recall what it was.

Next time, I'll check out one of the mexican restaurants people have recommended in the area.

I'm writing a review for the bar and bar tender. The bartender, by the way, should receive 5. The restaurant decor, however is 1, so on the average 3, get it?

My fiance and I came to Coast for wedding menu tasting with the Zilli hospitality group. Since we had 1 hour to kill before our scheduled appointment time, we decided to enjoy ourselves at the bar.

Both of us immediately spotted the cucumber mojito among the speciality cocktail. It was an excellent choice!! I never thought of the combination, it really works. The cucumber adds very refreshing touch to the already yummy mojito - with mint leaves that are muddle perfectly. And the bartender (sorry, I forgot to ask for his name), was very charming and polite. I'd go back to the bar and order the mojito whenever I'm near the art museum.

My understanding is the restaurant is owned by a catering firm and they largely hold private parties. My boyfriend and I ducked into the bar during a wedding that was being held next door. They were holding a private event at Coast however, they were exceptionally accomodating of our request to purchase a bottle of wine (wine at the wedding needed an "upgrade"). The staff was helpful and very knowledgable.

A group of us went there after work for a couple of drinks and food... we were the only ones there and it took forever to get a drink... when we finally got a drink -- we could not get the server back for another! Horrible service. Do not go unless it is happy hour - over priced!

Highly recommend just having drinks outdoors. Lunch time was a mix of business people and retirees. We ate lunch inside and had a terrible experience. The inside was extremely warm. We asked to move to a cooler area. We moved but it was only marginally better. They did not reset the table we had been sitting at before sitting new people there. There were three of us and we each ordered a different soup - the two daily specials and one regular soup. None of them had any flavor whatsoever. The little bit of lobster in the lobster sandwich was rubbery and did not seem fresh. Brown lettuce. Two of three people didn't finish their entrees. One did finish but said he wouldn't order it again. Overpriced for the quality. Service was fair at best.
