We stayed at the Inn this Saturday. We have family that lives in Oak Harbor, and it's a pretty long drive both ways to make in one day, so for a little Mom's day getaway, we decided to stay the night on the island.

I believe, price wise, you cannot find a better hotel for the value on the island than Coachman Inn. Comfortable, clean, home-y rooms with beautiful little tiled kitchenettes and mini-fridge. A WARM lap pool with 2,(count em'!) 2 hot tubs. Very comfortable beds with down comforters(maybe they have renovated recently?), mine felt like it was barely slept in!

Not only that, but you get a free continental breakfast in the morning.
This was a perfect spot for an overnight getaway.

Coachman is great for the rates they charge, which are usually lower or within a few bucks of the other good hotels on Whidbey, and the Coachman gives more.  We've stayed here more than a few times and found their rooms pretty big, with mini-fridges and granite bathroom countertops, super-helpful front desk clerks, and a really good free breakfast.  The owners are local and obviously care lots about their hotel and the guests.

This inn is just okay and I probably would give it a 2.5 if that were possible.

My family and I stay here every year when we travel to Whidbey Island to go to the Coupeville Arts & Crafts Festival.  We've stayed here every year since I was little.  It's certainly not a fantastic hotel by any means, but it does the job.  The beds aren't particularly comfortable and the interiors leave something to be desired, but the place is always very clean.  I will say that the housekeepers always tend to short-sheet the bedding though...

A bonus is the free continental breakfast over the weekend, which consists of all sorts of foods.  A sampling from this past weekend: cereal, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, hard-boiled eggs, blueberry muffins, english muffins, toast, and various pastries.
