One of only two hotels in Kittery that allow pets. YAY! The staff was super nice and accommodating. Not only does this place allow pets, but they have PLENTY of outside space to walk and play with your dog.
Beyond that, the location couldn't be better. Its right across from the Adidas, Coach, Old Navy, PacSun, Rockport, etc. building of outlets, and is located right in the middle of the rest of them.
There's also a Dunkin Donuts next door... SCORE.
The coolest thing I thought was that you have two doors on your room, one that goes to the outside and one that goes to the inside of the hotel, very cool. So if you want to go get breakfast, you just use your hotel door and be on your way, there's no walking around the building. But if you want to walk outside, there you are.
As for the room, not too shabby. I had a queen bed and it was a pretty small room, but I was happy with it. For a pet-designated room, I would have expected some kind of weird scent, but there was nothing. My pooch could definitely smell other dogs, but my human nose didn't notice a thing. Everything was very clean too. If you don't have pets, don't worry, they have designated rooms for pet owners.
The only thing is that it's a little outdated, the wall paper is all flowers and the doors are wood and could be replaced, but there was nothing physically wrong with any of it. Just a matter of style I guess!
I honestly have no complaints whatsoever. I even got a winter special rate of 2 nights for $99, which you just can't beat. $10 extra per night for the pooch, but most other places charge you $20, so no complaints there.
All around good place to stay if you're coming to Kittery to go shopping. I didn't see any other hotels, so this has to be the best location too. -

I think of the decor as New England "charm".. but that's just me. It's Americana... it's a roadside motel located in factory outlet heaven, or hell, depending on your view of outlet shopping. All in all, The Coachman is exactly what I expected it to be. The cleanliness and dog-friendliness, topped off with a caring staff brings this review to 4 star status. FYI: the walls are a tad bit thin... this could be a problem if you've got some noise makers next door... been there, heard that. Fortunately, our stay here was quiet enough. One last note: they serve continental breakfast until checkout time -11:00 am, and coffee is available all day.

Our room was comfortable and clean. I couldn't have asked for more. -

Well for one it was in a great location for who I was visiting. But for $99 a night, not bad at all. The rooms are nice, but the lighting's a little dim. Heat, wifi, cable all accounted for. Though I wish they had HDTVs so that i could connect my computer or xBox 360toit to play games or watch movies, not a big deal to me. They do have HBO for free so i guess the movie part was all set.
*Highlight*: I had to switch rooms because I wanted to stay an extra day and my old room had been assigned to some other guest, but i lost my chap stick and they returned it to me in my new room. I thought that was amazing.
