So cool to see the behind the scenes view of CNN.  Throughout the tour I just kept telling myself, "this is where Robin Meade works, this is where Reggie Aqui works,  Ali works,  and Anderson might drop by once in a while even. . ."

So fascinating to see the different departments of CNN, how they evolved and what the current trend is now.   Definitely worth the $13 bucks.  I bought tickets when I walked in and parked across the street in the public garage for about $8.00.

There is also a great gift shop in the center to buy crap from your favorite shows.

So three stars isn't bad. It mean's its okay. It's not the coolest place ever, but it is interesting for anyone who likes news and wants a first hand tour of how CNN works its magic.

My husband and I just finished a tour and I must say it was just ok. They took us around on a 55 minute tour that walked around showing diffrent areas of the news room. It would have been nice if we were able to meet any of the news staff, but no such luck. Overall I think it would have been nice for tourist but I saw nothing new.

Really nice place - even if you just come here to eat and hang out.  My family and I had just missed the last tour but were happy to see that the shops and food court were still open - especially from our long day at the Aquarium.  We ate, relaxed and browsed around the shops.  Took some pics with Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer (cardboard cutouts but hey, it was them!) and I snagged myself an "Adult Swim" shot glass and hat to boot so I was happy.

Maybe it was our guide, but the tour could have been so much better.  I was expecting more technically behind the scenes info.  At times I felt like I was watching a CNN infomercial.  And the part where you could take a picture behind the news desk for a fee was cheesy.  They should let you take your own pictures on the tour.

Came here on a trip summer of 2006 with my sister because I am an Atlanta Braves fan, went crazy at the Braves Clubhouse store, and enjoyed the tour we got of the newsrooms - a little girl who was part of our group got a chance to read from the teleprompter.  The only thing I didn't really like was when we grabbed a bite to eat at the food court and they gave me a diet soda when I asked for regular, and gave us attitude when we politely asked to get it changed.

as reminded to me very recently:

For your review of: CNN Center

You: "Why are the clocks 1 minute apart"
Guide: "Oh, no reason, just like at home, your vcr might be different than your microwave."
Me: "What is this, Highlights for Children?"

Like it or not, it's an Atlanta landmark. I remember coming here when I was young, when my Dad would take me and my brother to work over at the AJC.

Back in the day the bridge from the upper parking deck to CNN Center was open to the public. I distinctly remember one winter day when it iced and school was out, the bridge was iced over and it was one of the scariest walks ever. You used to be able to go onto the second floor, that's where the Braves Clubhouse store was.

Nowadays it's a great place to get a beer before a Hawks or Thrashers game (MUCH better selection and value than getting one inside Philips Arena) or hop on over to get lunch or dinner if you work around the area.

Just one warning: Go before 8 p.m. We constantly joke about the line at Wendy's never moving, and it doesn't. It's always the last place to close, and when that happens the line can reach 20 to 30 deep.

They have GIANT BEERS for only $5 !!!

Instead of buying $6 cans of Bud Light at College Gameday this past Saturday, we just strolled on over to CNN Center.  Cops were cool with it (I wasn't the only one with a 32 oz beer) in Centennial Park.

Unless you are wanting a quick bite to eat or a souvenier from Atlanta, it isn't really a place I'd want to go.  HOWEVER, if you are wanting to go on the "Behind the Scenes Tour", I would definitely recommend that.

It stars with a trip up the world's longest escalator (woohoo!) and starts with an explanation of how weathermen stand in front of the green screen.  From there, they show you the real CNN Newsroom live on the air...and Headline News as well.   This all SOUNDED kind of dry to me, but I was pleasantly surprised by it.  The working newsroom was probably the best part.....very intriguing.

Oh, and the food court is good too.  Sometimes they'll play a live feed from it on the air on CNN, so you stand a chance of getting your split second of fame if you're really lucky.

Most people who give CNN Center five stars do so as tourists, based on the tourist attraction. I'm doing so as someone who works nearby, based on the food court.

I work in the Spring Street federal building and the CNN Center food court is my *only* reliable lunch option outside of the building cafeteria. They have lots of selections, and I like the food and service at Le Petit Bistro very much in particular.

But earlier today, I ate at the CNN Center food court with some co-workers and *left my purse under the table.* I didn't realize it until I had finished the ten-minute walk back to my building. Panicked, I sprinted back to the food court, heart in throat. I found a nice family of six sitting at the very table we had occupied, my purse lounging nonchalantly underneath. It had been there at least fifteen minutes. "Thank you so much," I said breathlessly. "No problem, we were wondering about that," one of the family members responded.

CNN Center: the unlikely hero who boosted my faith in humanity up a couple of notches today.

CNN Center is one of the best tourist spots in Atlanta. While some may find the center to be somewhat boring with a lack of entertaining attractions, most individuals who are remotely interested in the media will find the center to be very interesting.

My favorite part about the CNN Center is the control room.  The control room is a part of the tour where guests of the CNN Center can sit in a room that resembles a small movie theater, but instead of the screen there is a window that looks into the CNN newsroom.  It is a great part of the tour because CNN news is broadcasted 24 hours a day, so there is a good chance you will be able to catch part of a live broadcast.

It seems as though the most memorable part of the tour, for everyone on Yelp at least, is the gigantic escalator that takes you to the top of the CNN building.  I really did not like this part of my experience at the center because I have a slight phobia of heights, but I have to admit, it was pretty unbelievable how far up the escalator traveled.

The food court in the middle of the center looks like a mall food court doubled in size.  They have just about every possible fast food vendor available in the US; however, I never really stray away from my usual fast food selection of Chik-Fil-A.

CNN Center is a cool anchor to the Georgia World Congress Center and Philips Arena. If you need to escape after the third day of the coveted suitcase makers conference, take a trip over and find out what's going on at CNN Center. There are many places to stop for a quick bite to eat that will be less expensive than the options at either event facility. There are also a few quick stop stores inside this not-quite-mall-food-court-complex.

A bit of history, is that CNN Center used to be home to a movie theater. This was closed some time ago and the space is now used by the Omni hotel for special events. There is a Marta station here as well for those wanting to use public transportation.

CNN Center itself has a tour you can take of the station. There is another review for that amenity.

I took the Inside CNN tour a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.  A lot of it was geared towards kids, but the ability to see inside the studios was worth it.  Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Omni hotel located here.  We didn't do the studio tour or anything touristy like that.

I enjoyed the shopping in CNN Center, especially the Braves team store.  Go Braves!

There was a Chik-Fil-A in the food court.  MMMMM sweet tea and waffle fries.

We happened to be staying here during Hurricane Katrina and the giant tv's kept showing all of the depressing news we could handle.

The televangelist Joel Osteen was going to be at the  theater and I never saw so many church groups in my life.  My husband and I did not know who he was and we thought that Billy Joel was there.  Ha.  People kept trying to give us Bibles.  It was funny.

CNN Center has a Marta Station beneath it which makes traveling around Atlanta a bit easier.  Though if you are going to the main downtown area you have to transfer trains and it seems to take forever.

Olympic Park is located across the street and is a great place to go for a walk or have a picnic.

A must see tourist spot for anyone visiting Atlanta for the first time. We took a tour of the studio and got the inside view of how news gets made on CNN. I thought it was pretty neat. The lines get pretty long for the tours. I would suggest you go early and get tickets before the huge crowds get there.
They have conveniently located in the center a food court that sells all kinds of fast foods. They also have a few CNN knickknack shops for you to drop some  dough on those monogrammed golf balls for your father in law.

Nice rooms and my room opened to the CNN atrium courtyard. A great way to start each day opening the balcony and watching the CNN big screen.  The presence of a big hotel but a good clean feel great beds and great pillows is always a big bonus when you travel. Furniture was set a little weird as I have no Idea where the TV and armoire was pointing unless I grabbed the ironing board and wanted to take care of my shirts. The staff professional and courteous. Downtown Atlanta during market you are going to pay the 30 bucks a day for your car to park whether you like it or not.  Several places to eat and drink and even a few places to shop. Need to go back and get a CNN coffee cup for the morning news desk. Walking distance (good weather) to Atlanta Market

The ultimate location for all CNN junkies and a true touristy marvel for the city of Atlanta in this Ted Turner organization.  This landmark neighbors the Georgia Dome and is across the street from the Centennial Olympic Park.  As one of the most vibrant spots in Atlanta's downtown area, it is certain to be one of the most frequented destinations from all visitors.

The atrium area is wide and seemingly spacious enough to host a football game.  Instead, its the heart of the center and features an enormous food court.  Other inner attractions include the Turner Store where you can get ripped off for various CNN memorabilia like t-shirts, coffee mugs, posters, etc.  There is a mini studio where would be broadcasters can sit down and read from the teleprompter while being recorded for your own entertainment.  The tape however, will cost you $20+.  And to get the full scope of the place, take the official CNN tour for a little less than $20 and learn about what makes this place the global headquarters of the CNN network.

The tour of the CNN Center is pretty cool - you get to see a lot of the behind the scenes of how their news is produced and prepared for broadcast.  It was a slow day when we visited because they were covering the election bowl in indiana - so the CNN Center was fairly tame.  However, if you are into news, this is definitely a must-see when in Atlanta.

I love the CNN Center solely for their food court!  There's a lot of places to choose from and then you can sit down and watch the news on huge TVs.  They keep the place pretty clean too, for such a large place.

This is probably the most exciting thing to see in Atlanta.  Isn't that sad?  I   only went on this tour as it was free since my old roommate was a producer at CNN.  The really long escalator was fun.  And it's also fun to look down into the atrium and see all the obese and pre-obese people shoving fast food into their mouths.  News room was also pretty cool, except you have to view it from behind tinted glass.  I've been in the actual news room though, it's pretty overrated, the HLN studios are more fun.

There's a yelp review for the studio tour, a review for the channel itself, and a review of the starbucks inside CNN, but not a review for the ENTIRE CNN center as a whole. So here it is.  My new place of business. It's like working in a mall with coffee shops, restaurants, and even a book store. While mostly everyone is on deadline.  But this mall has groups of paying tourists staring down at you in the newsroom while you work.  I get an employee discount at most places, the Braves apparel store and the CNN apparel store, so I can't complain about the "mall" part of the building. But what this place has that a mall doesn't is the actual newsroom of the most trusted name in news.  The nicest and most professional co-workers, managers, employees -   on air and off  - that I've worked with at any TV station.  And CNN doesn't skimp on the latest technology. If you have the slightest bit of interest in news, and you get a chance to take the tour, I recommend it. I also give high marks for Turner Broadcasting Company because it's a good place to work.  While CNN has a reputation for giving low salaries, it makes up for in benefits: and I'm talking vacation & sick time, discounts, health coverage, 402k, free Hawks and Thrashers tickets, etc.  It's definitely a place in which I could retire.

The CNN Center is definitely a must see on any visit to Atlanta--especially for self-proclaimed news junkies. The center offers a fascinating, hands-on tour and there are many interesting shops at the center from all of Ted Turner's many businesses. The center also has a gargantuan food court with a wide range of inexpensive food options in a unique setting. There's a MARTA (Atlanta's rapid-transit system) train station right there and across the street you'll find Atlanta's beautiful Centennial Olympic Park.
