Getting an oil change is one of my least favorite things to do. Mechanics usually see me, a small asian girl, and immediately think, "Cha-Ching!" I've never gone to get any kind of car maintenance without people telling me I needed some kind of extra work done for an exorbitant amount of money.
Since Cmarr had such great yelp reviews, I decided to call and they said I was welcome to bring it in that day for a decently priced $30 oil change. After dropping off my car, I made a quick trip to Uwajimaya and came back a little bit before it was ready.
The guys were nice and explained the work they did, and best of all, never got into depressing stories about the failed mechanics (real or made up) of my car.
Location and service were great, and I'd definitely come back.
I am usually the complete nerd who takes her car to the VW dealer for everything. When my "check engine light" came on, I dutifully made an appointment at University Volkswagen, which has a minimum charge of $105 an hour for diagnostic work. I decided to call CMarr, who have worked on other cars for me. I brought the car in this morning, and while I waited, Eric hooked up the computer thing to the car, and found that it was just the gas cap that hadn't sealed properly. He said it should fix itself in about the next three fill-ups. If not, call him, he'll order a new gas cap and install it. Today's charge? Absolutely nothing!!! They are wonderful.
Had 2002 VW Passat CV Joints replaced. Eric and Curtis of C-Marr were very helpful on the phone and even more so in the shop, taking time to discuss repair options with me. Their repair estimate was within a couple dollars of final price. I am experienced with auto repair work, and these guys are great to work with. They are honest and give you the straight story, including realistic options to keep repair costs under control. From my home I had to drive a ways to get to their shop, but based on their yelp reviews, I decided to take a chance. It was well worth the effort. Thank you yelp-ers for the reviews and helping me find a great auto-mechanic shop.
There's a completely different atmosphere here than any other shop. Honest, friendly, helpful, explains everything, willing to go the extra mile - I can hardly believe I'm using these words to describe a mechanic, but it's true.
They dropped what they were doing to take time and sort out my problem, suggested the cheapest solution, and were a pleasure to deal with. Great communication. This owner really knows that a business is built one customer at a time.
It's very important to have an honest and trusting relationship with your mechanic and that's what you'll get at CMARR.
The business is doing great and that's purely because of word of mouth. That's because everybody that has had their car worked on there knows that Curtis went the extra mile for them... everytime. The staff (ok, there's only 3 of them total) are all very friendly. They'll do everything from simple maintenance to complete overhauls to adding a new intake/exhaust.
One of the best shops for overall car health in Seattle.
Honesty sure is alive and well here. I had my car taken to Parkplace for a quote to raise a vehicle I purchased there and they wanted $6,000. Went to Cmarr's at a friends recommendation and got it done for $3,500. Can't say enough positive things about the guys there, but one thing for sure, I don't need to worry about getting ripped off on car repairs.
We've taken our cars to CMarr since inception and for the first time, I can submit to you, auto owners, this is the first time ANY car repair shop has CONSISTENTLY provided the BEST SERVICE! They are accurate, attentitve, tidy, clean and HONEST! Look no further if you are in need of the BEST auto repair shop!
