5 reviews for Club Hide / formerly Rawhide
Back in my clubbin' days (I'm 25 going on 35), I came here with a bunch of friends and I had a blast! There's always ONE thing that I remember about a club, mean staff, small, bad drinks, expensive drinks, crowded bars, too many sluts, too many dirty men, too many of one race, leaking toilets, no toilet paper, you know...stuff like that.
Back when it was Rawhide, I had nothing to complain about. This place has space, and lots of it. Speakers: everywhere! You know what I liked most about it? D-i-v-e-r-s-i-t-y! Where else would you find a bunch of hip-hop heads, mixed with stylish gentlemen, sassy ladies, punk rockers, AND biker dudes? DMV doesn't count. Neither does a courthouse. (And I'm not talking about Starbucks biker dudes, I'm talking about Hells Angels "We'll burn your sh*t down" biker dudes!) It was great! I've never been back since, but I just might have to get my retired, black, "man-killer" stilettos out and do some damage on the dance floor.
I could see this place from my room at the Ramada. Its literally right across the street. My friends and I decided to go to this place to warm up for the night before going where we planned on going. We got there so early that we couldn't really enjoy it much.
This club had 3 levels. The ground floor was playing a techno/reggae music, the 2nd level had a really small room that played hip/hop and the third level was a lounge area which was covered and really cool. I like the big open floor on the ground floor. You have plenty of space to shake your groove thang!
The drinks here are kick ass too. Although I didn't buy one for myself, one of my friends had a drink that I sipped on and after 2 sips I was lit. It was a rum and coke.
Cool hangout spot.
HOLY SUNFLOWERS
Five stars for a fine night out.
Yay for Honey Soundsystem parties!
Imagine everyone on a dancefloor bopping around in perfect harmony with fresh sunflowers and losing their shit to the fantastic beats of Nu Italo Disco icon Todd Terje. This was the scene at what was perhaps one of the best nights out I had all summer long. Great sound, great venue, and great crowd. I hope they have more great talent here in the future because it's a great space. Low on hipsters and high on 'heads; now that's my kind of party. Well done guys!
I went to Club Hide on a very dead Saturday night... There was a World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA) party there, but hardly anyone showed so we're talking 50 people max at any given time. And this place is huge... I wonder if it ever fills up.
Very cool upper area where smoking is allowed. Feels like a giant dark atrium (many plants and garden swings, ever though the place enclosed).
Huh.
Overall a decent place and plenty confusing... At least the drinks were strong.
The hours at this place suck. DJs have to lock off by 1:45am...even for the Bay Area that's too damn early.
