The most luxurious fitness club in Astoria.
Huge weight training room, Beautiful rocker room, Luxury lounge, Cozy atmosphere and Refreshing spa and Jacuzzi.I really LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this cleanest fitness GYM I ever seen!!
Then friendly Stuff gave me two trial passes.
Thank you!! I love you guys too.
I wish I could live in Astoria ....not in NJ.
I miss you, Astoria.
To all the girls: You know how you go into a gym and can be completely intimidated by the weight room? So much so that you bypass it altogether and stick to your caridio workout?
Yeah, story of my life. Until now! This is the first gym that I actually feel comfortable working with weights. This gym just gives off a vibe of "All are welcome!" and "We are here to help!" From the guy who helped me with my membership to the woman who works in the women's locker room, everyone here is awesome.
Even the other gym patrons seem extra nice. How does that happen? I've never had to wait for a treadmill and am always finding new ways to spend my hour at the gym. I will admit that I've never tried a class but my friend highly recommends the spin class with Cat. I'll try the classes....eventually. I'm still finding my way around the massive weight room!
not a member but i took a tour last year because i was mildly interested in joining a gym. i don't know from gyms, so i may not be a good judge. i was impressed by the decor first, although the foyer floor was wet from the wall fountain, the cleanliness was immediately noticed, the type of people there also looked like-minded and not gym-rats who hang around all day. the size of the workout room was immense. i took a pilates class that was too crowded. i got a pedicure the next day and wasn't impressed. but overall, if i hadn't been laid off i would have considered it. they wanted $90/mth, which even with a job was more than i wanted to spend.
This gym has everything a person could ever want. A huuuuge weight room (with 2 sets of each pair of dumbbells), sauna/steam/jacuzzi, lounges, cardio machines (which I've never used, but if I did, I'd be really impressed), and classes classes classes. Yoga, boxing, pilates reformers...SPINNING. I've gone to practically every teacher and Cat is the best. Though it's my first experience with a spinning teacher never actually getting on the bike, her mixes are great and I love when she yells at us in her thick Bostonian accent.
As an active gym rat, I know that if anything ever stands in my way from going to the gym (not liking the people there, the smelly bathrooms, etc etc), I'll make an excuse not to go. Fortunately for Club Fitness (and for me) I have absolutely no complaints about this one.
Oh, and if you're a model or actor you get a discount - I'm not either but I said I worked with them and showed them my business card and I got the discount anyway :)
I have a problem with gyms. I join, then quit a few months later every time. But not with this gym. It's one of the few gyms in my experience that when you walk in, doesn't have that sad, I'm about to work my butt off and I really don't feel like it - feeling. It's clean, the staff is awesome. I think the decor is really cool and makes me feel like I want to be there. I've yet to be unable to find a machine I was looking for. If I could change anything it would be that they aren't open 24 hours and I REALLY wish they had a pool. But that's probably just me...
ps- Take Cat's spin class! She rocks and will have you loving her and hating her all at the same time!
Although I moved away from this awesome neighborhood a few months ago, I used to be a member here. This gym is by far way better than the other popular gyms in the city. Very large (on multiple levels) and spacious with state of the art equipment. Tons of free weights and benches so your not having to wait in line. The place is always spotless and the locker rooms actually have a little chill lounge to watch TV or surf the web. The staff is friendly and its not difficult to break your membership if you move from the hood like I did. If you live in the area, definitley check this place out. A place to keep your brats while you work out also if you have any.
Look, I really like this gym.... but I agree with the previous poster who noted the towels are disappearing! What's up with that!?!? Oh - and how about this... you work out, you get all gross/sweaty and as you step into the shower, you realize, NO HOT WATER! This has happened at least 6 times since I've been a member (less than a year). I really want to love Club Fitness. I love the machines, I love not waiting and I really don't even mind paying extra for a locker - but seriously, I can see where they're cutting costs... and it shouldn't be so obvious to us as customers. If you're willing to compromise some of the luxuries, this is definitely a very cool gym.
Is it possible that I am completely obsessed...with a GYM?
Like the moment I knew Illinois was the college I wanted to attend, the minute I stepped into this waterfall-filled, clean haven, I knew...this was the gym I wanted to belong to.
Now let's not talk about how many times I actually go to the gym but when you have a membership to a gym this clean, this pretty, and equipped with that many great classes...it's hard to not sign your life away.
They have state of the art equipment and the gym is larger than it looks.
They have all kinds of machines (with TVs), classes and rooms targeting various muscles/exercises.
They have a cafe and a spa that boasts massages, waxings and wonderful pedicures.
I've checked out a lot of gyms before I chose this one and in Astoria alone this is by far the best gym in the area.
Synonymous with NYSC or Crunch, the only downfall to this fantastic gym is that it isn't a chain (never thought I'd be saying that on Yelp, huh?)
What's going to happen when I no longer live in the depths of wonderful Astoria?
