Highly, highly, highly recommend. My husband and I went there for dinner. We had the calamari, fish tacos, and gazpacho. The food was amazing. Don't miss the calamari. The wine was great as well, and the service was top notch. Go!

Initially we loved Club 141 and gave it a glowing review, but we've had two VERY disappointing meals in a row and have reluctantly decided we won't return. The food was cold and the menu is designed for high profit returns. The value is not there.

Slow service and Chicken skewers were horrible. One chicken tender, unseasoned, with a fruit cake type sauce that came straight from a bottle.  The ribs were served with cold bones. Soggy salad and teeny shrimp in a bland chili sauce. (Is bland and chili an oxymoron? Not at Club 141!) The Sangria was fruit juice and ice. Sad situation because it took us twice before we came to terms with the reality.

For $60. go to The Owl and don't look back.

We had an early reservation, entered, only three customers were there drinking wine. We waited and waited but no host or servers in sight. Finally went to the kitchen and asked someone if we could be seated. Suggestion: rig a bell in the back room so you can hear customers enter or just pay attention.

The wine menu is limited to local foothill winemakers.
Their menu for small dish items is extensive. They also offered quite a few specials. We decided to try the Paella off the menu and two specials - Artichoke bottoms with spinach and cheese in a pastry shell, and Chicken Tarragon with rice.

The artichoke puffs were excellent. Not too heavy, wouldn't change a thing.
The tarragon chicken was good. Rich like a creamy risotto, not too salty, but would have been better with something like pearl onions for added texture and complexity.
The Paella was meh. If you know how Paella is made, and have made it, you also know that it takes hours to make it right. It tasted as though it was made in 20 minutes. What little juices it had did not infuse the veggies or meats at all. It was weird like wok fried saffron rice with stuff mixed in just before serving.

The service is relaxed and friendly, but lacking the basics like filling water glasses without being asked to do so and less attentive than I'd hoped.

The ambiance is pleasant and warm until the door of winter-wind opens. They have a classical guitarist there at times - he is also the doorman closing the door so he doesn't freeze.
They have sofas in two places for a more intimate and relaxed setting. They also have two artificial fireplaces that add visual warmth.

The dishes are expensive for tapas, probably because the quantity of food is too much for tapas, which prohibited us from trying a larger variety of dishes defeating the whole idea behind tapas. Suggestion, reduce prices and quantities so we can order more . . . and also, so I have a reason to come back more often and give you another star.

Food is 2 - 4 stars. (don't stop improving your recipes and upgrading your menu)
Service is 2 stars (need to get the basics down and greet customers when they enter)
Ambiance is 4 stars (what are you waiting for? fix the entrance door)

It was my birthday and my boyfriend told me to pick a restaurant. ANY restaurant. I couldn't think of anywhere I would rather go than Club 141.

All the windows and all the doors were wide open and the summer night air added a sweet ambiance. We lounged on a couch and drank cucumber water. Our server was a sweetheart and the food came out fast.

Most of the plates are between $7-$10. Along with the free bread and dipping sauce, two plates are enough for two people. That's pretty cheap for the amount of deliciousness that you get.

My only suggestion is they cut up the portions more. We had lamb,  cooked perfect (and don't mess with my man's lamb, he is picky!) and we both loved it, but we cut each piece in half because it was a big mouthful.

We also had the grilled brie with cranberries (again!)  because I had been having naughty fantasies about it ever since that first taste.

It whispered sweet nothings to my tongue while I devoured it, but then it was gone, leaving me with an empty plate, a full belly and a longing not unlike addiction.

Was referred to them from old school friend Chris at Smith Vineyards as I needed a great, understanding, flexible caterer, very last minute for a relatives unexpected funeral. I was flying in from Disney World in Florida and hired him over the phone. I have not lived in GV since I graduated from NUHS in '80 so I was unfamiliar with local companies, pressed for time, making me vulnerable. Jim was so great to work with, I can not thank him enough for making this aspect so easy for me. Not only was he amazingly easy to work with, I relied on him heavily for his expert opinions and he demonstrated how a true professional operates. The crème de la crème was not just the lovely presentation of food, but that is was delicious. I have dealt with many, many caterers and I can truly recommend this one as one you can depend on. FYI, I am a picky foodie, check out my other reviews! I will look forward to dining one day at the restaurant.
