I love this plaza!! Mitsuwa for groceries, Santouka for lunch, Kinokuniya for manga & stationery, and Clover of course for yummy snacks!!

I cannot get enough of their crab croquette & okonomiyaki sandwiches. SO CHEAP too! ($2.00 & $1.75 respectively). The strawberry bread & melon bread are addictive as well.

They make foods throughout the day which I think is nice because I can never get up early enough to get freshly baked bread at normal bakeries.

I give this place 5 stars even though they only take cash. That's saying a lot.

Usually I come to Clover to buy their breads.  It was the first time I came for dinner.  Highly recommend!

I came here with three friends.  Two of us ordered the hamburger steak and two of us order the Omakai(?) rice, an omelet with rice inside.  The utensils were served in a basket containing the napkins, forks, knives, spoons, and chop sticks.

Dinner orders come with bread, soup, and salad.  You must wait a long time for the bread.  It's worth the wait.  The bread comes to you fresh and hot, and I mean it--fresh and hot.  The soup is a chicken broth served in a white cup.  It was the first time I drank soup in a cup in a restaurant.  The salad is typical with iceberg lettuce with carrots, sesame, and a sauce.  Feel free to ask for more bread.  Remember you must wait for the bread.

My hamburger steak came with demi-grase sauce, a mix of barbeque sauce and ketchup.  My steak was tender and moist.  Next time I order with teriyaki sauce.  Rice, pickles, carrots, asparagus, and I think potato salad were included.

The breads in the bakery are delicious!  The price is on the higher side.  It's worth it.  There is a Japanese supermarket in the strip mall that sells packaged bread.  Take a short walk to Clover to buy their breads.

The menu spelling is misspelled intentionally.  If in doubt, ask to clarify.

PS, they have 7UP in the menu ^__^

Just finished reviewing Paris Baguette.. I can't really compare the two bakeries because they are so different. I heart both!

Clover is obviously a Japanese-style bakery with interesting selections like Eel bun, Spaghetti bun, Yakisoba bun, etc. I love the traditional Anpan, Red Bean bun! And Clover makes really Melon buns... I especially love their mini versions because I can try different flavors without eating a regular size one =P Their Fried Curry-filled bun is also really good! Oh! I also like their sandwich bread....

If you like a bakery with a cozy, home-like environment, run to Clover!

Okay.. so I gave it another try and I bought the spicy tuna bun thing, a hot dog bun, and a strawberry sandwich.

I didn't eat the hot dog bun.. but the spicy tuna was pretty spicy and good. Not spectacular, just yet.. But what WAS delicious and interesting was the strawberry sandwich. It was soooooo good!

At $1.75, my only complaint is why I'm getting just half a sandwich!

I love Clover Bakery with extreme passion! This bakery has got to have the most cutest layout of pastries/bread in the bay. I love how it totally resembles the pastries in Japan :) It's cheap and very delectable.

I've tried the melon green tea bread, the croquette burger, the corn and mayo bread, the tonkatsu bread, and of course the spaghetti bread :) All the bread I've tasted here are equally delicious and satisfying. My personal favorite is the melon green tea bread and the croquette burger.

The melon green tea bread is very soft and has that twist of matcha green tea powder mixed in the bread, which is very delish and unique. I'm not sure how other people would rate it, but I, personally, love anything green tea! The croquette burger is real good as well. Very creative and yummy! The appearance of the burger just gives you the feel of a "fobby asian burger." :)

Great place to come for snacks, a light lunch, or even a light dinner. One of my favorite bakeries/pastry shops to go to. The only negative thing about the place is that they only take cash and knowing me, I never carry cash. It's the 21st century people! It's all about the visa debit card!

Everything is very cute. The bakery has a nice feel to it and everything is very neat.

Chocolate melon bread with drawn on face is too adorable. It's one of those places where you find your favorites that keep you coming back. MIne? Cream corn bread, croquette burger, stuffed curry bread, strawberry cream bread, and sweet Japanese donuts.

mmmmmmmmm!

Shaved ice -- not fluffy like the manju shop's, but still good. I got the lemon and was happy.

Types of onigiri available: salmon, spam teriyaki, seaweed, mustard greens with small fishes, carrot (they said, but it was various pickled veggies), and more! Think they were 1.75 each, but well made and fresh! Rice was perfectly cooked, and ratio of fillings to rice optimized for flavor.

Breads: Spaghetti (of course), yakisoba, okonomiyaki (yum), potato croquette burger part 1 is better than part 2, pork cutlet (kinda dry), cinnamon donuts (sweet snack), assorted melon breads (best the first day, loses the slight crust after that), spicy cod roe (really rich!), eel (meh), spicy tuna (not raw but really good!). Spicy sausage is also reputedly good.

They also serve dinner, with hamburg steaks and cod roe spaghetti. I've yet to eat anything from the dinner menu, but one day I'll find the willpower to ignore the breads.

Japanese buns are smaller, less richly flavorful (i.e. not as butter-heavy), and more dense than their Chinese equals.  If you want some, Clover is the best Japanese bakery in the south bay!  It's an adorable cafe that now serves dinner until 9pm (altho always empty at dinner...) but the new development bodes well for those craving an evening snack.

++ | Melon Bun |
A plain white bun covered with a sweet butter crust. Comes in plain, chocolate, green tea, or chocolate chip.  Plain "melon pan" may be the most popular item in the bakery.

++ | Keema Curry Bun |
Only offered a few days a week, but this is a great savory filler stuffed with curried ground beef

Want more variety? Try:
Cod Roe Bun (w/cod roe filling - salty, creamy, a twinge of fishiness)
Spicy Burdock Bun
Okonomiyaki Bun (it's a bit much for my tastes, but my friends love it)
Sweet White Bean Paste Bun

Looks cheap, but these are tweeny tiny lil things:
Melon Bun = $1.75
Mini Melon Bun (golf ball size) = $1
Keema Curry Bun = $1.95

Yum!!!!  This place is so close to Japan it makes me happy =)  I love getting their koroke burgers (potato croquette inside a bun with lettuce and tonkatsu sauce)

I recently came here for dinner (weird that they have it here) and I had the delicious hamburg steak dinner with ponzu daikon sauce.

Prior to the meal we were given HOT french breads, a refreshing green salad, and some kind of light broth.  I was almost full by the time my hamburg came AND it had my favorite Japanese potato salad on the side (potato, ham, cucumber).

If you're nostalgic for some true Japanese pastries and goodies come here!

Only tried one thing after a ramen meal, but giving this stars for creativity. Who needs a state fair, when you can get lots of weird fried stuff here. ;-)

Cost to worth it ranking: 3 (most things ~$2)

Eve award: most interesting savory bakery items I've seen

Highlights:
- Everything in a bun: from spaghetti, to japanese noodles, to potato croquettes, to tonkatzu, to unagi, etc. Now that's a different kind of sandwich.
- Everything breaded and deep fried: yakisoba was the kicker here--who thinks of that? Beside it was a whole hot dog--not breaded in corn and on a stick either. Then there's the traditional
- Cutesy items: some twosie pastries with a hole on each side connected together. Another is the UFO bun that comes in green. Even the signs are cute and cartoonish like in Japan.
- Mini buns: if you're like me and don't do pastry's much, it's nice to have a smaller portion. There's red and white bean along with green bean. Each only $1
- Triangle seaweed wraps: I saw a teriyaki spam one calling to me from the checkout counter, but I resisted... this time.
- Dinner specials: I saw on the outside board a pumpkin tofu curry dish--sounds great!

Lowlights:
- I was already full when I got here, so even though a lot looked good, I only tried that one thing.

Cool little place--I'll be back to try more.

I do like that they try weird concoctions, but I don't think I'm a fan of the flavor combinations that they have. My favorites still lay with Chinese style bakeries that have awesome sweet and salty baked goods.

We came later in the day, so I think we got the last bits of their daily bakes.  Maybe we didn't get the good stuff because of the time.

For a decent and cheap lunch, this is still a good place to pick up your fill.

Whoa - Okonomiyaki in a roll?  But how does it taste?  Pretty good.  There's slices of hot dog inside of it but overall it does taste like okonomiyaki but inside of a roll.  We also had the katsu pan, katsu pan with a miso sauce and ungai pan.

Really small shop and the parking lot was super packed.

I plan on going back and trying more items.

Yummy delicious goodness!  What's there not to love?!  It's a bakery, and not just any bakery.  It a bakery that serves buns called UFO and they also have a spaghetti bun.  Both sounds incredibly odd, but I've been told it's great.

I've only tried the green tea bun and the raisin bread.  Both are very good and at less than $2 a bun, it's easy on your wallet too.  We seem to make every excuse to stop by here considering there are some good restaurants in this plaza as well as Mitsuwa.

Eat, shop, then pick up an afternoon snack and a midnight snack from Clover.

Not often for me to find a Japanese specific bakery, so this was a cool find. Lots of different pastries and goods to choose from. Reminded me of the Rose Tea House in San Carlos but replace all the old Anglo women with old Japanese women instead. Picked up some red bean and custard pastries to go. Wish I had some more time to just hang out but being young and male would be bucking the trend here.

Who would have thought Yelping would promote self-discovery? After reading my last Clover review, I realize I'm just a mean person. Four stars? How could I give perfection four stars? This baby's going to five. It's now officially my favorite bakery.

Went to Clover today to pick up some favorites, and specifically to try the strawberry sandwich which I was tempted with previously but passed on. My pulse quickened when I saw there were no strawberry sandwiches in the fridge. A bead of sweat broke out on my forehead. Maybe they have some in the back, I tried to comfort myself.

Do you have any strawberry sandwiches?, I asked timidly. They checked.

ALL SOLD OUT TODAY. The words hit me like a brick in the face.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was all I could do to get outside before I began crying inconsolably. 15 minutes later, my wife's soothing voice and pats on the back had brought me back. There will be a next time. But when that next time comes, will the strawberry sandwich be there? My anxiety about the answer to that question starts now.

SPAGHETTI PAN!!!! Yeah you heard me right. It's basically a split sweet bun stuffed with cold spaghetti and topped with parmesan cheese and sliced hot dogs (yeah that's right). And oh my god, it's good stuff. Yeah... The bread is nice and fresh and the whole things reminds me of the cold spaghetti sandwiches of my childhood. Oh man, love these things.

The prices are reasonable for the portions (at least for me, but I probably have a small appetite compared to some). The spaghetti pan are something like $2 or $2.50 and I think they are a decent size for a snack. I'd recommend it if you like Japanese style pan!

Went there awhile ago. One thing that stood out the most out of my selection was the Crab and Roe pastry. It was actually very tasty. I would buy that again. The Curry roll thing was ok, just tasted like bread stuffed with masala sauce with some potatoes. I also bought a cream puff, that was good a lot of cream.
If it wasn't so far I would definitely want to go back and taste some of the other items. Not so much the spaghetti or yakisoba though those just look like a leftover sandwich someone made for work.

We need more places like this around san jose, and less Panera's ( boring)

I was excited to find out that Mitsuwa and Clover Bakery were on the same plaza so I made it a point to come check it out. I was so glad I had cash that day as I would have been a sad panda seeing all those goodies and not  be able to get anything.

They had a very interesting assortment of stuff. The had the pretty standard stuff like the ham and cheese, pizza bread bun, custard bun, red bean bun, hotdog bun, etc. Then they have the fun stuff like unagi bun. croquette bun, ground beef bun (like a burger), chow mein bun, fish and roe roll, boiled egg and mayo and a bunch of other goodies.

I think I should have came earlier tho coz at 7 pm, they didnt have a lot of the stuff I've been seeing in pictures and reading in reviews. There was no spaghetti bun, no spam roll and I think only 1 chow mein bun left.

They also have some fried stuff like fried chow mein roll, fried hotdog roll. fried curry bun, etc but they seem to have been there for a while.

Anyway, I only had enough cash for a few items so I got a croquette and ground beef bun, a ham and cheese bread and a custard filled donut.

The custard was really good but the donut was okay. I think I will get the bun instead of donut next time I want to get custard.

The croquette bun was delicious! I was pretty surprised. I was a little skeptical of the bread and potato combo (carb on carb) but it was really good. The croquette has a pretty good flavor and it has some tonkatsu type sauce on top. The little bun was very nice too.

The ground beef bun was also good. It looks pretty much like a slider with fried ground meat instead of grilled and with the tonkatsu type sauce. I think between the two I'd go for the croquette bun again.

The ham and cheese bread was good. Lots of cheese and I love that it has that nice slightly toasty cheese (kinda browned). Good breakfast food.

I think next time I'll come earlier to get an optimum selection of baked goodies and I'll bring more cash too. I'm really curious about the spaghetti bun.

I kinda feel torn by this place because they do have unique items, they represent on the Mom and Pop level, and I have enjoyed this place at least twice... However... I was not WOWed by it. Really, I guess I just love pastries and bread, but I feel that the bakery items could have a little more pizazz and flavor. I have tried their green tea puff thing, yakisoba bread, spaghetti bread, a red bean donut thing and possibly a cream puff or donut filled with pudding.

Honestly, I would go to Shengkee, Sogo, and L'epi D'or bakeries before this spot, just because I like the way their bread tastes and the crisp, and soft chewiness of their items over Clover. Don't get me wrong, I think it is just interesting to find a place with these types of items. But it didn't win my heart.

Maybe I'm crazy?
Or it is just not my cup of tea.
See for yourself and let me know...

After my first visit, I did think that maybe I was too harsh so I decided to give this place another try.  Plus, I didn't get to try all of the unusual-looking buns that Yelpers posted pictures of.  I went in and grabbed the following (each $1.75):

-Yakisoba bun
-Croquette bun
-Miso flavored pork cutlet bun
-Spicy Tuna bun

I think my favorite out of all of them was the Yakisoba bun!  I like how there's sauce in all of these because there is a lot of bread and you have to counter the possible blandness that comes from having a lot of bread and not enough filling.  But with the Yakisoba, the sauce tasted the best and the ratio between noodles and bread were even.  The others just had too much bread.  And I'm sure these would have tasted a lot better fresh.  My bf really enjoyed the Croquette Bun because there were veggies (corn, peas, etc.) in it and he liked the hot sauce.

I wouldn't recommend eating these for a meal but they would be great for a snack, especially if you go hiking or something.  They're tightly wrapped so you can just throw it in your bag and there are tons of carbs to keep you going!  I might come again to try stuff on the dinner menu since I'm sure this place has a high rating for a reason... I hope.

I come here every weekend with my mom after we go grocery shopping around the corner at Mitsuwa.

Pretty authentic Japanese bakery. They have all the weird querky pastries like coroquette pan, tonkatsu pan, and spaghetti pan. LOVE IT!

All their buns are great, but my newest obsession here is the Kuri pan (chestnut). It's soooo good.

The buns do cost a little bit more than at other bakeries like Shengkee, but it's totally worth it. They use better ingredients, and have significant more filling (i.e., more kuri filling!!) than other bakeries.

A friend actually introduced me to this place and I've been going ever since :)

Their bakery goods are delicious and really cheap! I end up buying more than I need and the cost adds up ... but it's worth the money :) I especially fond of their Salmon Onigiri  and Cream Horns (I think that's what they're called.) Most items are under $2.00 and my boyfriend and I usually stop by here for a quick bite. It feels really homely and they don't try to rush you (sometimes I spend 10 to 20 minutes trying to decide what to buy. haha)

I've never tried the dinner meals so I can't say anything about those. I think the only downfall are the sandwiches. They seem really good but pretty much it's bread, 2 pieces of whatever you bought (fish, pork cutlet, etc) and the rest is a shizload of coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw (I don't hate it ... but I won't eat it either :D) so the sandwiches only please me when I'm extremely hungry (although I usually grab the Salmon onigiri :D)

I give this place a 5. I'd give it a 4.5 because I know it's not perfect ... but I really can't find anything bad BAD to say about it so it gets that extra 0.5 (hey, I may not be a coleslaw fan but I bet there are other people that are :D)

My recommendations and price:
I may have gotten a few names and prices wrong :P

Salmon Onigiri ($1.75)
Cream Horn ($1.75)
Cream Custard Bread ($1.00)
Melon Bread ($1.00) or any of the flavored breads! :D
Donut Balls ($1.00 for 6)

OH. MY. GOD.

This place is WONDERFUL!  I only wish they had one of these in San Francisco too, because I never find myself in San Jose.  Especially since I don't drive.

Anyway, this place is great for many reasons.

Oh, Clover Bakery, how I love thee.  Let me count the ways.
+ The variety of WEIRD stuff in bread is staggering but awesome: they've got spaghetti in bread, chow mein in bread, croquette sandwiches, tonkatsu in bread.  And this is all in addition to the more standard fare you would find in an Asian bakery, which included red bean buns, hot dog buns, and various other sweet/savory buns.
+ I noticed that almost everything is under $2.  I suppose this is just a tad pricier than many other Asian bakeries, but I think it's worth it because you're getting such a unique product.
+ The guy who was working the cash register was cute/nice!
+ It tastes good!  Which, of course, is the most important aspect.

So, if you find yourself in the area, stop by this place to pick up some bread.  You won't be disappointed. It's probably the most unique Asian bakery I've been to, and that's saying a lot because I go to a LOT of Asian bakeries.

In conclusion:  Wonderful store; crazy, weird, but good food!

I've been meaning to check this place out after reading the reviews on Yelp. And since it's not too far from home, I thought heck...why not? Went in after work and got the following:

Cream corn croquette pan - sounded interesting..and interesting it was! Whoever thought of this one is genius. A fried corn croquette, atop a bed of cabbage and kewpie mayo, drizzled in a tonkatsu sauce, on soft chewy bread. Creamy, salty, slightly sweet. My favorite pick.

Spaghetti pan - the little one devoured this one. What kid doesn't love noodles? This was just okay...but I would definitely buy this as a snack or lunch for my daughter.

Hot Dog pan - Ehhh...just like a bagel dog. I'll pass. *woof*woof*

Custard pan - Good..but could use more filling.

Spam seaweed wrap - think spam musubi!! Spam with tonkatsu sauce wrapped in rice wrapped in seaweed. Great snack.

The cashier didn't look too happy to be working there. But she was young...and probably forced to be there...by her mom? But I don't ever expect customer service at Asian establishments..so no biggie. Asked for the strawberry sandwich...after all the rave reviews about it I wanted to try it..but sadly they were all out. I'll need to come back to pick up some snacks and hopefully they will have it then!! Two thumbs up for Clover Bakery. Definitely not your typical bakery...expect to see Japanese breads/goodies only. Bon appetit!

Clover is a whimsical bite sized bakery that will fulfill your carbohydrate cravings and will help pack on some extra poundage for the cold seasons and then some. They specialize in traditional baked Japanese goods. With a slight western twist. Prices are cheap and affordable (around 1.50-2.00 a pop) and the selections vary depending on what time of day.  Cash only tho.

Breads I have tried all in one sitting, Man vs food style.  Naw, I tried them over the course of random visits aplenty.

Sweets:
Chocolate filled pastry - Nice thick n sweet chocolate fudge like filling. The pastry dough could have been crisper and lighter. But it was good.

Custard filled pastry - This custard was sweet and had nice velvet texture to it.  Not the best custard I have ever tried but fair.

Melon green tea pan - Good.  The green tea flavor is toasty and noticeable but not too strong. Kinda dense, so it is good as a energy  snack.

Almond pastry - Good sweetness, almonds were toasty. Flaky enough for me. Yum eehihih

Peach Danish - Not bad, peach wasn't too sweet but more tart.

Savory:
Kare-pan w/ground beef -  Bread has nice chewyness. Curry flavor is mild. The beef could use some more seasoning. It tastes better when you zap it for a few.

Fish burger - Pretty good, the onion may have too much bite. bun has nice spongy consistency, fish was mild.  The fillet is crusted with panko and covered in some sweet tonkatsu sauce, shredded cabbage, green onion, mayo-based dressing, and a parsley flake on top.

Pork katsu burger - Like fish burger but with pork instead. I like it, and I normally buy a few of these when I stop by.

Kare veggie - This bun is filled with some pureed mashed potatoes lightly flavored with curry. I didn't taste much of the curry. It was a bit bland for me.

Fried hot dog- not bad - Needs to be reheated in a toaster oven for the extra crunch and the hot doggyness to punch through.

German potato cheese bun - This was actually pretty tasty, they had these on one of my random lunch visits. The cheese bun is flavorful and stuffed with sautéed au gratin like potatoes interspersed with tasty tidbits of decent ham. Yummers.

Shrimp katsu burger - Although it tasted good, the price was a little bit more at $1.75 (.25 more than the regular burgers last time i checked).  I found the shrimp to have good flavor but the texture was mushy. A few more shrimp would have been better too.

Spicy Tuna Bun - Good stuff. very filling, mayonaisey, and spicy.

Okonomiyaki- Now this was a rather funky concoction. It's an acquired taste bread recommended for adventurous foodies.  I like Okono but never had it quite like this.

This consisted of Yakisoba noodles on top of a sliced hot dog filled bun. It was garnished with sliced pickled ginger and some bonito flakes.  All these ingredients (the smokey fishyness of the bonito, tart ginger, salty noodles, sliced hot dog, and sweet bun) together make for a funky flavour flight.

It's somewhat cumbersome to eat as the noodles have a tendency to fall off the bun whenever I try to stuff it into my mouth.  The first time I took a bite I was also like "oh hellz ya" when I saw some sliced hot dog stuffed inside.  I'm telling you it cant get anymore funkier than this. Hehe.

Alright enough jibber jabber go eat!

Good Japanese bakery with unique and good-tasting bread rolls and buns.  Most of the bread rolls and buns are $1.75, which is quit expensive for the size of the roll.  My favorite was the crab and fish bread roll.  It is kinda salty because it is sprinkled with the orange fish eggs and seaweed.  The spicy tuna roll had lots of flavor and a good amount of spice.  The cream of corn roll was okay.  I did not like the fried chow mien because it tasted kind of sour.  The sweet potato bun was okay but I don't like sweet potato with bread.

I came here because I was in town visiting my sister.  I will come here again the next time I visit and probably buy the crab and fish and spicy tuna rolls.

To me, this bakery is nothing more than an average and uninspiring, what I would call, traditional Japanese fusion bakery. If this store is trying to differentiate itself from others by coming up with the buns with seemingly unique and imaginative toppings and fillings, I would say that they ought to be even more creative to make me go like "aha, that is interesting!".

After having said that and perhaps being a bit too peevish, it is probably about the only bakery in South Bay where you can try karashi mentaiko (spicy fish roe) bun, broiled fresh water eel bun, and etc. The only other Japanese bakery that comes to my mind that may come close to this place may be Seto Bakery in Sunnyvale (a sister store of Seto Restaurant).

Things that I like about this store are its coziness and home-made feel of the bakery that they sell. I would say that if you haven't been to this place before, it is worth checking it out.

i love this place!!!
Cute little quaint place. Good small light foods to fill you up like snacks do.  Everytime I come up here for lunch I get a one curry Croquet and a spicy Tuna Sandwich. For me this place has the BEST tuna lunch sandwiches!

My girlfriend gets the spaghetti lunch boxes with a katsu sandwich.

YUMMY!!

Okay, I will readily admit that I drive 15 minutes to Saratoga every week to buy their bread.  It's fresh, handmade, and delicious.

Every Friday I go in with my little shopping bag with the intent of buying JUST two loaves of bread; raisin and white.  That's about $6.50, right there.
I step into the store and come out with a bag full of bread costing me more than I expected.  How does that happen, you ask?  I'll tell you.

The bread is out of this world,  And I get sucked into dishing out cash each and every time.

Strawberry Sandwiches?  Give me 2 of those sweet, fluffy bites of heaven.  It's hard to share.

Coffee Coronet?  I'll take 3 and pretend that it's for me and my brother.

Croquette Pan/ Cream Corn Pan?  Dammit, I'm torn between taking the whole tray or just buying 4.

Buying a Melon Pan or some random Danish?  Oops, my brother just slapped my hand from piling them on to our tray.

What?  I'm am not being a fatty.  This tray is being split between two people...sort of.

On a serious note though.  After coming to Clover and discovering their baked goods, it's too hard to go back to store bought bread and snacks.

I'll be honest.  I'm a "meat 'n seafood, salt 'n spices" type of guy.  All the craze about froyo shops and cupcakes has somehow left me a bit behind and confused.  Don't get me wrong.  I like froyo and will try the cupcakes (but not for an hour wait!).  Dessert has just never been my favorite part of the meal.

So imagine my dismay when I found Kahoo Ramen, Hana, and Tomi Sushi all closed and only Clover Bakery open.  A bakery?  Sure, they had the word "Cafe" in the name, but it probably meant only coffee.

I read a few Yelp Mobile reviews and began to perk up a little.  What's this?  Spicy tuna bun?!!?  Crab and roe bun?!?!  Croquette burgers??!

Clearly, this wasn't your typical sweets-only bakery.  Clover Bakery has plenty of stuff for us savory-types as well.

I decided to investigate and planned on purchasing one or two buns for lunch.  I left with seven!  There were just too many good choices.  While I've seen hot dog buns and curry pork buns at Chinese bakeries, I've never seen a pork cutlet bun (woohoo!), a yakisoba bun (yeah!), and several types of musubi (spam teriyaki, salmon, and ume....what's ume?).

All buns were priced about $1 - $1.75.  Reasonable given the ingredients and size.

I walked out with my savory buns and was a happy camper.  So happy that I even decided to buy a cream bun and green tea bun for kicks.

Savory first, then sweet.

Clover Bakery is cash only.

I was looking to buy a good strawberry cake for a family event.  I didn't know this place exists until another mommy referred me.

Be aware, they don't have other cake selections except strawberry short cake.  The cream and the sponge cake are so yummy and moist!  Not too sweet and the cream is so good.  Everybody really enjoyed the cake and the decoration was cute.  The 6" cake is $15 (for 4-8people) and 10" (for more than 10 people) for $28.  If you want special decoration on it such as writing or little animal decoration (they are edible) on the cake would cost $2 more. I think the cake prices are reasonable compare to other stores.

I haven't try much of their other bakery stuff except the chocolate bun. It was OK. but kind of small for $1.75.
