*** Opening Night was a lil disappointing ... ***
Last week Wed when I came to Staples, I came to
see future All-Star Rookie Blake Griffin. {applause}
He will be the real deal for sure but he is injured. ;(
And like a silly tourist, all in attendance gotta Blake
Griffin tee - the irony. Oh well, get better soon man!
Clips did what the Clips have done best w/o an
All-Star in the game ... lead by 8-10pts until the
end of the 4th quarter then lose a heartbreaker
b/c the opposing team's All-Star (Steve Nash in
this case) takes game over then steals it away.
Clips, you've gotta close strong baby ... c'mon!
*** Blake, I hope that you heal up soon. (lmao) ***
clippers are whack, at least with Blake griffin we have something to look forward to, another title in LA...IN PURPLE AND GOLD~!!!!!

Love the Clippers! If nothing else because they are the antihero the Kobe and his mani-pedi's. You can afford the tickets, they have some spirit, and they have a humility that let's them get back up after they've gotten knocked down, even without a decent coach or the support of the fans, they've got some grit, and I love 'em I'm surprised after all these years they haven't moved to somewhere a little more suitable to their talents, like Long Beach, or Tacoma, but I don't wish losing a team on anyone, since it sucked hard to lsoe the sonics.
I love the Clippers. I know I'm gonna catch a lot of sh*t for this, especially from the Laker fans but I don't care. I'm loyal to my team, win or lose, and that's what matters. I'd rather be a loyal fan to a team that doesn't win all the time than a chick who jumps on the bandwagon during playoffs and claims to be a true "fan" when the team is winning. That's b.s. I guess now I know how Raider fans feel lol. Went to the pre-season game at Staples center against the Warriors. Even with the flu, I had so much fun! My bf, a beer and basketball...that's all I really need to be happy. This season's roster is promising. My surprise of the night was Rasual Butler. He scored 27 points that night. We still have Baron Davis and Chris Kaman, who scored 16 points that night. Definitely stepping his game up. I can't wait to see Blake Griffin play during the season, although he did pretty well during this game against the Warriors. Can't wait for the rest of the season!

DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!!!! why....why does this have to happen?! is there ANY decent athlete out there nowadays?! and of all people...ELTON BRAND...why did you take the money and leave?! as much i dislike the Patriots...i respect Tom Brady and his willingness to take less money to improve the team. that's what Elton said he was going to do...and now turns his back on the Clippers. the Clippers get Baron...and were going to get other pieces to the puzzle...and he still left...damn you Elton...you have broken my heart....
i can't forgive you for your actions...you've done a lot for us Elton...but this hurts...after all the history we had together...you're willing to throw it away just like that??? you make me sick

You took BoomDizzle away from us. We took Corey Maggette from you.
You guys got a leader with shaky hamstrings. We got Xzibit with shaky hamstrings.
You guys are paying him $13 mil/yr to play the first 7 games of the season. We're paying him $10 mil/yr to sit on the bench, 4 out of the first 7.
You guys got a PG. We got another SG/SF.
You guys got the better player. And for that, I commend you.
Get a new coach and stop losing games by one/two points. That's just sad.
Actually, what's sad is that Alex and I go to the games to see players from the opposing team.
Clipjoint, you only got two stars from me because of Clipper Darryl and our bomb ass season seats.
Dear Baron,
Meet Anthony Morrow.
Sincerely,
SJax and The Golden State Warriors
I hate to say this, but the answer is Thunderstix. Yes, Thunderstix.
The question...What makes an otherwise dull Clippers game palatable?
We went to the New Year's Eve game against the woeful Minnesota Timberwolves. Combine both teams ineptitude with the sheer lack of passion that the NBA suffers from these days with a less than stellar crowd that was obviously looking forward to the rest of the night, and you get a pretty horrible first half of basketball.
Don't just take my word for it, here's what Chris Kaman had to say about it - "They're just not that good, so we were able to beat them,'' Kaman said. "We're not that good, either. I mean, it was like a 'Dust Bowl' game -- two of the worst teams in the league playing each other.''
But before the second half started, the Clippers Fan Patrol handed out Thunderstix and the mood of the section that we were in instantly improved. Typically, I'm against Thunderstix, but what the heck, they did the job. From that point on, we had a blast. And it helped that the Clippers made a nice 15-0 run in the fourth quarter to pick up a much needed 91-85 Dust Bowl victory.
If I have to like one LA NBA basketball team, it's going to be the Clippers. We bought tickets off of the Clippers Ticket Exchange for a quarter of their face value, sat maybe 20 rows back, and enjoyed some of the stranger members of the Clippers Nation. It's not a scene like a Lakers game, and that's much more my style.
Clipper Nation...I sure hope they come up with another name for us next year!
Still, fun times, almost always. Not nearly as pretentious as a Laker's game. Amazingly, most people go to Clippers game to watch basketball and not to walk up and down the aisles hoping to be seen.
I have had tickets since 1990.
Cheri A. rocks it as a Clip fan, too!
Yeah I like the Clippers, so what? You would like them too if the friend that you're house-sitting for gives you his court-side floor seats and says "ENJOY!"
Staples parking pass, nail biter game, overtime win and copious amounts of Heineken = a really fun night.
Don't even think about it Los Angeles sports fans. Don't! You know who I'm talking to... The Clippers don't need you rolling in on the band wagon. We (I did say WE) made the play offs for the first time in years without you just fine. Hell, we haven't seen a play off win since Larry was in town! Not only the win but we made it out of the first round! The first round bubble has been burst! Not since moving from Buffalo has that happened... !!! So, laker fans - stick with your cry baby team if you are such fans. Get the flags out. What's that? Oh, you threw yours away? Ohhhh. Nothing worse then seeing you show up at a Clippers game in your laker gear. Killing me. You could at least buy a $5 Clipper shirt on the corner before going in... But we don't want you. We don't need you. You guys can suck it.
Now that I have that out of the way here is the hint:
Sneak some beer in to the game. Whaaaa?! Yeah. I said it. I've done it.
A bottle in each of your front pockets - no problem. The cap will not send the metal detector off - just make sure you do not have anything else that will set the alarm off... BOOM! Go for broke and sneak a six pack in - its been done... Good luck.
Go CLIPS!!!
Last season was a good chance for people to not be in fake love with the Clippers. Hopefully, Kobe will get his wish and Garnett will go to the Lakers, and then most will forget about the clippers. BIG MISTAKE.
All we need is a solid PG to take bulk of the minutes while Sam rests, Kaman to shape back up and someone tough on D. (trading cutty mobley would be a good move....)
Here we go boys, EB and Corey for all-star 08!
If you are willing to publicly admit that you are a fan of the Los Angeles Clippers, your befuddled partner in conversation will look at you like:
(1) you've got a club in one hand and a dead baby seal in the the other; or (2) you've just opined on how Hitler and Stalin were "misunderstood." But God help me, I love my Clips. They disappoint me like a bad child every year--and yet I keep hoping they'll come around and get better.
I had season tickets for a couple years before I moved to the Bay Area. I've been to several Lakers games, too--but the Clipper vibe is so much better for us normal, Earth-walking folk. None of the siliconed and Botoxed set for the Clips. It's a blue collar crowd--or as blue collar as a crowd can get living in L.A. and paying exorbitant NBA ticket prices.
This season is admittedly terrible and the games are downright painful to watch. Oh well. Another lottery pick could be in the future, and EB (and maybe Shaun Livingston) will be back in the rotation soon. Although my heart is still with the Clips, I'm slowly stepping onto the GSW bandwagon as my secondary team. Anything but the Lakers.
It's hard to be a Clipper fan but I am a trooper.
GO CLIPS!
Damn Clippers!
It's so hard to be a Clipper fan in LA. Nobody seems to understand! Yes it's very heart breaking. I'm a self proclaimed masochist. Year after year we find ways to lose more games than the previous season. Our GM drafts a bunch of knucklehead and trades away our blue chips.
While the Laker fans cross their fingers for a championship, I just hope for a playoff appearance. Every year is always "the year" we make a run. 2006 was close, 2007 was a bust. I'm still waiting and will continue to wait till it happens.
I've been a fan since Danny Manning, Ken Norman, and the gang ran the show. True Clipper fan support our team through thick and thin. We know bball and represent Clipper Nation to the fullest. We are led by the best fan in the NBA: Clipper Darrell.
So why am I a Clipper fan? Hope! That one day we can turn it around. I love me some underdogs. Plus real men don't wear purple and gold. :-)
Dear NBA,
Clippers suck for being a cursed team that will never get anywhere as long as Don Sterling is owner. It was funny seeing Clipper Nation get all hyped up for just making the playoffs. Good luck this year.
Clippers suck for trying to entertain me with a disorganized "Clipper Spirit." Dance group. You might as well have named them the "Clipper Gals"
Clippers suck for an annoying Clipper Darryl that won't shut up during games. And when he does, it's dead quiet.
Clippers suck for knocking off "Raider Nation"
Clippers suck for sharing the same building as the Lakers.
Clippers is suck. What a joke. I find it hilarious that whoever started this review placed them under the category of "Amateur Sports Team" HAHHahhaHAHAHHAhAHaha.
Sincerely, Die-hard Laker Fan
