After seeing the reviews, I decided to try this place out and WOW it was Yummy -:).
The burger was made fresh that day and seasoned just right,The fries were even better they were FRESH cut not frozen like some reviewers suggest. Now I see why
this place has 4 stars. They definitely have the right stuff over their,so if your in the area drop by you wont be disappointed. HAND DOWN ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS IN HOUSTON!!!!! -

Ordered for work today.. Not great, but not horrible.
Fries were soggy, as were the tomatoes and lettuce. Philly Cheese Steak was good. Falafel had a good flavor. Fish sandwich was good. Jalapeno Poppers had no flavor. Hummus was NOT good.. weird texture.
Maybe next time I will try the burger... -

This is why I don't trust the Houston yelpers. This place is horrific. There is nothing redeeming about. Nothing makes it unique. The burgers are bland and unseasoned. The lettuce is wilted. The fries are nothing special, your generic run of the mill frozen fries. The buns remind me of Wonderbread. The seating situation is awkward. It's pretty pricey considering the quality of greasy tasteless meat.
Why the hell does it have a 4 star rating? Because there's nothing to eat in the med center? I don't get it. It's just barely, maybe a step above hospital cafetera food. Maybe. -

Good burger, good fries--cheaper and better (IMHO) than Waterside Cafe. I'll definitely be back.

Great Chilli. And great burgers, the Primo's chilli burger is excellent and very very juicy. The chilli and cheese fries are a meal by themselves. They also have an excellent greek/mediterranean menu.

I use to work right upstairs, and everyone in my office was completely in love with Cliffs. Me, not so much.
The burgers are juicy and cooked nicely. There's a good selection of different types of burgers and sandwiches. The portions are big for lunch, a little too big for me. Sometimes I just got 2 breakfast tacos, and that would last me all day.
One big issue have turned me off though--
I found a hair in my breakfast taco! EWWW!!! I couldn't even look at it afterwards. That's just disgusting. I don't like making a scene, so I just threw the whole thing away -shudder- Needless to say, I haven't been back since -

Hamburger was ok. Fries were slightly above average. Prices were cheap.

A big group of us went here after a trip to the zoo, we were starving and craving burgers. So this was where we ended up. I played it safe with a hamburger combo (~ $8). The burger was pretty good. Juicy and tasty. The fries were mediocre and kind of soggy and meh. I wish I had gotten the onion rings like someone in my group had done. Those things were monstrously hugeeee. The chili cheese burger was said to be pretty good, but it seems as though it was a hassle to eat because things kept slipping and sliding as I watched them eat it, lots of finger licking to do. Someone else got the hummus and my jealousy emerged. Looked good. I knew I should've pounced on those Mediterranean options. I crave a gyro and falafel now :( Damn it.
Overall, pretty good. In my opinion, a bit pricey for just a burger and a bit heavy for lunch, but I think I'd go back to give the Mediterranean menu a shot. -

Got takeout one night for dinner since the reviews seemed to praise this place quite a bit. Ordered online and the process was very simple. It even indicated a time estimate for when the order would be ready, so that was a nice touch.
When I got there, the cashier identified my order by name and confirmed the order. The environment seemed clean but I didn't eat there so I won't comment on that further.
I got a Southwest burger, and it came with fries. The meat was pretty good, and the seasoning was alright, but the bun was quite lacklustre and the other ingredients (including the avocado) was just disappointing. The fries too seemed overly greasy and didn't really hit the spot at all. So although the ordering process was nice, ultimately the food was just okay. -

I really like this place. I have eating here a lot and I must say its one of the best burgers in the medical center hands down. Prices are pretty good compared to other places.. You can get a combo - burger and fries r and a drink for under $10. My favorite burger to eat at this place is the Primo's Chili Cheddar Burger. The burger it self is messy, I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Cliff's puts a good amount of chili on their burger. Fries are decent but not all that great. I would recommend this place to anyone that lives or works around the medical center. Ordering Online at this location I believe is an option and is a great option for those that work on the tight medical center lunch breaks which are 30~ mins long.

what a major disappointment... I asked for the swiss mushroom burger without mayo and it came with mayo... the meat wasn't very good... and the fries were soggy...
I expected a better burger based on the previous reviews and Cliff's did not meet my expectations -

I hate doint multiple updates of a single place because I believe I enjoy trying multiple places but I have been eating here literally 3 times a week for the past couple of months. If a place can keep me happy for that long they deserve a 5 star in my book.
Plus I know I am eating here too much when customer's come in and I feel like I'm reciting my yelp reviews to them when asked what to eat here.Listed in: Best Burgers & Hotdogs, Houston: Hospital Food

not bad! no one is joking on here when they say the service here is great. it is phenomenal! the people here are very helpful and genuinely nice!
i had the gyro sandwich, because i wasn't totally feeling a burger. the meat was awesome, however, they didn't use enough of the yogurt sauce. but i barely noticed, because it was pretty darn good!
the menu is good for ANYONE wanting a sandwich, burger, or salad. i think everyone in front of me in line got something different, so that's awesome! definitely worth a try if you are around the area :) -

Holy cow! This was good!
I got the low-down on Cliff's Grill from David N (thank you!) and decided to give it a try.
My coworkers and I were more than pleased with the menu selection. There is a great mix of burgers, sandwiches, Mediterranean food, salads, potatoes, and even breakfast items! After drooling over the items, we decided on trying a hamburger, California chicken sandwich (I had this), gyro, and fries.
With the grumbling beast that is my stomach urging me on, I called to place our order. I was greeted by a pleasant voice and great customer service. I was informed that delivery to the Medical Center took about 10 minutes. Apparently the delivery guy walks it to the hospitals!
They were right on with the delivery time. I was told it would take 10 minutes to make the food and 10 to get it to us, and sure enough the delivery man was calling me in 20 minutes saying he was in the building! Now that is service!!!
I can't speak for the other girls who ordered, but my California chicken sandwich was amazing. I was skeptical at first when I heard that Cliff's actually had a moist chicken sandwich. Well, they do. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and I actually took apart my sandwich to make sure I was really eating chicken!
The bun was soft and the chicken was cut just right so that I had the perfect ratio of fixin's, meat and bun in each bite. I know no one else would appreciate this, but I'm an OCD eater! I like balance with every bite of food!
All I can say is that Cliff's made it to the front of the ordering out binder with my crew!
FYI:
Delivery charge to the Med Center is $2.00 with a $15 min orderListed in: Med Center Eats

I am one of those people who chooses to eat somewhere based on my food mood at that moment. If I'm craving a cold sandwich - I have a list of places to defer to. If I want soup - I know exactly where to go. Sometimes, though, I just don't crave anything in particular. This confuses my appetite and I'm often left stranded and hungry.
That's why I love restaurants like Cliff's. They have a huge, varied menu that gives my uncertainty options. The ingredients are really fresh and tasty - so that rules out one concern immediately. The next step is figuring out if I want something crunchy and veggie-filled (like their huge salads with a variety of different homemade dressings) or something warm and comforting (like the baked potatoes or the chili). I could go a little healthier with the chicken sandwiches or their Mediterranean food options. Their falafel is so good. It's almost always moist and spicy.
The portions are generous and affordable - which are also big pluses. Plus they deliver around the area and cater all over the city.
Hmm.... I probably shouldn't have opted to write this review during lunchtime because I totally just made myself hungry... -

I just tried this place today and it wasn't bad.
I'm not a Texas Medical expert on food joints located around but it is the first burger place I have really seen.
The food isn't bad. I wasn't blow away but it, but that doesn't mean it was bad. It was just what I expect which is fine by me. I got the southwest burger. The price isn't bad. A burger or sandwich is from 5-6 bucks and then you can get a combo, fires and a drink, for about $2.25 and they give you a bunch of fries...maybe, dare I even say, too much!? I know, complaining about getting too much food, what am I nuts?
Probably.
But with quick service and a good size menu, I'll go back and try a sandwich and see how that goes.
Overall it is a good place to get a quick tasteful meal. -

Wow, I'm surprised how much I liked this place. So far I have only tried a chicken sandwich and a burger. No doubt, the chicken sandwich was cooked with all kinds of butter and/or salt but wow, that is the best chicken sandwich I have had. It almost tasted just like a burger. This is not the kind of meal you'd want to have everyday, but it's such a tasty splurge.
I didn't find it to be super-crowded during the weekday lunch rush, but you must budget 5-10 minutes to wait for your food.
I must say I didn't care for the fries - I prefer them to be super light and crispy, and these were thick and heavy. Other folks might enjoy their skin-on style though. The good news is that the burgers and sandwiches are so generous, you're almost too full for fries.
I would not mind making this a regular lunch spot. One day, I probably should try the salads, etc, but I think it'll take me a while to resist the temptation of the delicious-sounding hamburger menu. And my eye is on the onion rings. -

Not to shabby of a spot if you need to find some grub in the Med Center. One up on the nearby Millers for two reasons:
Better ambiance
They have Buffalo burgers
It is small though, time your meal accordingly. -

I like to eat healthy but sometimes I cave and eat at Cliff's for lunch. The burgers and fries are good and it's pretty cheap. The chili cheeseburger is pretty darn good (I have a mild obsession with chili cheese everything). This is a solid choice if you're looking for Medical Center food.

There is a new burger joint in the Med Center! Located on the first floor of the Baylor Faculty Center (between St. Luke's and the Baylor Clinics), Cliff's Grill serves burgers, sandwiches, Mediterranean food, and breakfast. The decor is unique with wall size Marilyn Monroe photos, vivid reds, and yellow pine tables. The staff is still learning the ropes, but the manager is quick to make adjustments to ensure customers get what they ordered. I recommend the California Chicken sandwich (herb-marinated chicken breast, avocados, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes), but not when you are trying to impress someone - as the avocados have a tendency to slip out! A friend has tried the salads and also gives them a high thumbs up. And of course, you can't go wrong with the standard cheeseburger, fries, and soft drink combo.

This is a great burger place in the Medical Center. The owner must be Israeli or Lebanese or something because they also make a good falafel sandwich. The fries are excellent, and hard to resist. I'll definitely be eating here regularly now that I am working on my PhD in the medical center.

Greesy chili cheese burger..as expected (not a bad thing). At this price range, I would prefer in-and-out burger from the west coast or 5 guys from the east. Let it be noted that I inhaled that burger. Didn't care for the fries.

This place does not have the healthiest of lunch options but I do love their falafel sandwich and the prices are good. It gets 4 stars because the falafel is that good and because it is really convenient for lunch.
