Just came back from camping here. The only thing that was best was Clear Lake, it was beautiful and so clear. The beach was so clean and beautiful! The only cons to this campground is no WiFi signal unless you are out on the lake. No water or sewer hook up which made things hard when you have a camper. The sites were just muddy and Sandy for the most part and small sites. But they did have a lot of amenities such as children's activities, bingo, and two volleyball courts. The bathrooms were okay and the showers were just okay. I think the shower stalls needed to be cleaned more. I don't think we will come back because there was no WiFi access for our teens.

Great spot for ORV riders. Right across the road from the entrance are the ORV trails entrance. Starts off with two great sand hill climbs and then the further you go the less sand you get. Turns into some great dirt and rock trails and climbs. Would definitely ride here again. Camp site was quiet and clean.

My husband and I purchased a vintage camper in October of 2020. This was its maiden voyage! We took our son and dog on a trip a bit further north and chose to book site #118 at this gorgeous state park. We spent two days and truly couldn't have had a better time on all fronts. This park rests between Atlanta, Michigan and onaway, Michigan. The high country pathway which is about 78 miles in length passes through the park itself so you can jump on sections right from the campground or parking lot if you are visiting for the day. Gorgeous paths open up into white pine groves, tributaries of clear lake and of course access to many ATV/ORV trails. The campground has 200 sites amongst both sides and offer many pit toilets and a few modern bathrooms with public showers available. There are both rustic sites and electrical sites. Water pump stations ate scattered throughout as well. Our site was backed to the woods, fairly easy to pull our 20 foot 1973 park camper in and was deep enough to park our truck in front of the camper which made hooking up to leave easy! We could walk to the beach in literally a minute, so we walked our kayak down each day to use it to fish and paddle the lake. Many others seemed to be comfortable enough to leave their kayaks as well as beach equipment on the beach. Which is nice but I recommend to be safe and keep items at your site. There are a few parks and a basketball court for kids to enjoy, they offer kayaks and boats to rental daily. The camp host here offered free use of yard games and fun activities for young kids. All the sites seemed to be super well located to any number of bathrooms. On this visit we did not any any issues with other campers being rude or loud beyond quiet time. We will be back! Clean park, very helpful rangers. We had a flat tire on our camper and they had a air pump for free use by the camp office. What an amazing park. We shopped for all our food, drinks, ice and wood at Freddie's market in Atlanta which I highly recommend. The wood bundles were cheap, quality wood that burned slow and a great amount in each bundle. The park sells wood also 3 for $15 if you forget.

Camped here in 2014 and several times since. Nice place--the hosts keep things clean, and the trails are nice. There are some stands of jack pines, and so if you go at the right time, you might hear or see a Kirtland's Warbler!

Nice lake to kayak and swim. Clean bathrooms. Nice trails through the woods. No camp store. Showers were never out of hot water. Wilderness activities for the kids. Paved roads so nice for kids to bike on. Can rent kayaks, row boats, SUPs. Lots of trees and good sized sites.
