Category: Dry Cleaning & Laundry [Edit]
Neighborhood: Brooklyn/Windsor TerraceProspect Ave (M, R)
About 20% more expensive than everywhere else. Not only that, but you have to buy a credit card thing and they will not refund any extra money you have on the card. And even though the machines seem newer, the dryers do not dry any faster than others. And it doesn't really surprise me that others report there stuff stolen.
However, there are tons of machines and it is a very bright environment with lots of chairs and push cart things that actually roll.
All in all, I will stick to my local mom-and-pop places nearby.

When I lived on 3rd Avenue, this was the closest place to haul my laundry. It's a big place so I always felt like I'd find a washer or dryer when I needed one, and I liked the card system -- no need for coins. It's not a terrible place to hang out for a couple hours while your stuff's in the wash, but everyone else hangs out too, so there are often kids running everywhere. It was clean and seemed to be well-managed. But now that I'm up by 5th Ave, I gotta say I prefer carrying a pocketful of quarters, dropping my stuff off at some dingy, small laundromat, and going off to do something more interesting for a while.

I have so many experiences from 3 years of doing laundry in my neighborhood Clean Rite that I feel like it should have a Yearbook I can sign with a lengthy paragraph detailing our inside jokes and wild stories. It would go something like this,
Hey Clean Rite!
It's been a blast these last 3 years. Remember that domestic disturbance? Which one, right?! LOLZ!
I really admire how open you are (24 hours) and how you refuse to be cheap (ok that's more of a pain in the ass really).
Also, remember the time that guy I met at a bar a few weeks earlier showed up and asked for my number again while I was folding my whites? Lolz!
Remember when one of the larger machines broke and spilled all over the place? And the time my card stopped working because I'd used it to jimmy open a bathroom door at a bar the night before and it was all bent to hell, and you gave me another card to replace it, with $10 on it, after I harassed you about it for 3 weeks?
I will never forget all of our special times together. It's ok that one time you were so crowded I couldn't get a cart. I forgive you. My fault for showing up on a Sunday night.
luv ya! have a great summer! k.i.t.!
Tina

Why did it take me 7 years to find Clean Rite? I guess it's really only exciting if you have a car, but I despise laundry far less now that I do and now that I've found Clean Rite. The place is huge and clean. There are endless washers and dryers, so you never have to wait. They use laundry cards instead of coins. It is a little more expensive than your standard laundromat, but not having to deal with coins makes it worth the extra 50 cents or whatever. If you're not sold yet, they also have vending machines (both junk food AND ice cream), video games, that "grab a stuffed animal with a claw" game, and other stuff to entertain kids, or immature adults like myself. The best part is the parking lot because in my opinion, the worst part of doing laundry is having to carry it around. Also, you can leave when your stuff is drying and go get White Castle cause it's right down the street. I mean, why not? Wow....OK I should stop now because why is a laundromat the longest review I've ever written?
