Sandra does an amazing job cleaning. She is very friendly and she uses all green products which I really appreciate.
As much as I love the work she does, she is a little too expensive for us to use on a regular basis.
It has been about 6 months since Sandra came to clean my place, so not sure if her ways have changed at all. I hate doing a bad review, but hopefully it will encourage her to be more competitive, blahahahhah
I liked the idea of green chemicals, and our apartment is never clean to my standards, so it was my idea to get a pro to come do it. Backfire! $180 later, our apartment is definitely clean, but about $80 clean. None of the grease was taken off the stove, I lifted up just a little of our living room rug and there is all kinds of dirt, the stairs were obviously not mopped.
She did an ok job, but an ok job on our apartment is what we always do. She needs to either charge a little less, or do a better job.
Sandra cleaned my apt once, and I tipped her well and said I'd like to set up a monthly appt. I haven't been able to reach her - I get her voicemail, and she hasn't returned my calls. ...Not exactly dependable customer service. Disappointed.
Okay. I hate to write a bad review for a cleaning service but I'm just trying to be honest. Sandra and her sister were both VERY nice and VERY sweet, but I think for the job that was done, it was extremely overpriced. I like the idea of the green products and they did a thorough job, and took the time at the end to point out everything that was done, but it was honestly just too expensive especially for the things that weren't done. And on top of it, they were about a half hour late (granted "in this line of business, you can never be prompt with time"). ???
All we needed cleaned was the kitchen, living room, bathroom and hallway. That's it. There were no bedrooms done, the stairs were not done, the office, or the laundry room. Just 4 rooms, if you want to call the hall a room. So with that being said, I would think it would only take about one to two hours for TWO people to do this. It took them THREE hours to do and then they charged us $130!!! Mind you, after they left, we noticed that the didn't even pick up the rug in the kitchen to clean the kitchen floor, they just cleaned AROUND it. The bag of garbage was left for us to take out and the fridge hadn't been touched. You could visibly see dust and hair up along the walls in the bathroom, as well as mascara on the mirror, that clearly had not been cleaned off.
The rest of the house was great. They cleaned under the couch cushions and cleaned out the fireplace. And I always feel bad having someone clean my house, so I thank them for their service but I just think for $130, the kitchen rug should be picked up! I think that's kind of ridiculous. Three hours for 3.5 rooms. I just wonder if they had done the entire house, would they have charged us like $350?! Cause it would have taken them ALL day.
Anyway, sorry for the not so great review Sandra, but Yelp is all about honesty right? Thanks for your time and effort, but I'll be looking elsewhere next time. :(
I've only had Sandra over twice so far, but she has done a stellar job. She dusts places I hadn't even thought of, always informs me about the products she's using or if she thinks a different one would work better, and is a friendly face to have in the house (I work from home, and was a little worried about having a stranger hanging out with me :-)
Update: Sandra is not so great at putting things back exactly where they were, so if that's a problem for you, be sure to tell her from the start. (I don't care that much.) She's also not so gentle with plants (I have a bunch of orchids rooting, so they're a bit loose in their containers, and they've gotten a little shaken up). I also feel that she's perhaps less thorough with the cleaning than she was the first few times. (Kitchen floor was not quite as clean as it could be, and she must not have mopped the floor upstairs because there will still spots on it.) She always seems to be in a rush. That being said, she still does a great job in general.

I've always wanted a professional cleaner... especially having two cats and 3 jobs!
When I heard of Sandra's company I was instantly engaged... clean it green? What better else could you want? Having the motherly instinct to protect my pets and the eternal instinct to live green, it was the answer I'd been looking for!
Sandra does a fantastic job of not only cleaning with green products but looking at my everyday household and taking care of things that are necessary... overflowed wax on the speakers, entryway, back stairs to the laundry room... she doesn't miss a beat! And cleans it GREEN!
I've started looking for new cleaners, which is always a daunting task. We've been through four in the past year, and are still searching for the best. Since I have a little one, I've decided to "go green", and that apparently requires a lot of "green ones." You can expect to pay a premium for any of the eco-friendly cleaning services in the city.
That said, Sandra and her sister were great. They showed up on time (BIG plus), and did a thorough job on our home. They even tackled my closet, and the heaps of clothing strewn all over it. My first impression was that I could trust these people to clean when I'm not home (again BIG plus). Minus one star...Clean it Green is very pricey. It would be the most we've ever spent on cleaning by about double. Then again, in general, I do think you get what you pay for. They're aren't deals. Sure, Green Clean is cheaper, but they'll damage your stuff. And although others are less expensive, they'll use toxic prodcts and forget to clean in corners.
The jury's still out on this one. If you're a true baller, use Clean it Green. They're the best I've dealt with so far.
Initially I thought it would be a good idea to have someone come over just to help vacuum, dust and scrub my bathroom. When you work 12 hours daily on average, the last thing you want to do with your free time is scrub the damned bathtub!
Having Sandra didn't leave me feeling like I had someone simply helping me out. It feel like I was spoiled. My apartment wasn't just clean, it was *spotless*. They left no surface un-dusted, no bit of carpet un-vacuumed and I have never EVER seen the tile in my bathroom that white. They even got out the dirt spots I've been having a hard time removing in front of my entrance!
I will be scheduling regular appointments with her from now on.
Booked the Clean It Green crew to clean my studio apartment after I moved out. Mostly I liked the idea of not using chemicals to clean.
The place was extremely dirty as I had neglected it for awhile knowing that would have it cleaned before moving out. While Sandra was nice and attentive, there were some obvious things overlooked even as she showed me what had been done. Windows were not even wiped down, and I went around with a wet rag (only a wet rag!) and cleaned up a lot of places that would have expected the cleaners to get. The bathroom was super clean though which is why they're getting 3 stars.
We'll see how much of my deposit I get back. 25 March 2008
As a particularly clean-obsessed person I had been leary of hiring a cleaning service but now that I don't have much time to do it myself I was forced to choose one.
I had a slew of recommendations from friends but ended up choosing Clean It Green for two simple reasons: eco-friendly and excellent customer service. I spoke with Sandra and she totally put me at ease with the types of products she would be using, including a steam cleaner for my countertops.
After coming home after the first cleaning I was absolutely impressed with not only how clean it was but also with how it smelled: clean---no funky chemically, florally, piney smells; no smells at all.
Other plusses: Sandra's schedule was flexible and her rates were reasonable.
A while ago I had a terrible allergy crisis probably because I own two pets and there's a lot of carpet in my house, I mean a lot of carpet. Apparently my cleaning person was not doing such a good job and I have to say I always hated that smell of bleach in my bathroom.
A friend recommended me them and over a very cool phone conversation I learned a lot about safe products to clean our home without causing any harm to our environment. I know it is such "bay area of me" like a friend said.
Guess what? They are awesome, my house smells great, allergies are gone, they are SUPER nice to my dogs when they walk in (very important to me) and I feel that I am doing something good.
when it boils down to just two roommates (of six) cleaning up after everyone else...shit's weak. especially in a kitchen with granite floors and counter tops...crumbs stay where they fall because they are 'camouflage'.
i was wary to agree to a cleaning service because that automatically means that no one living in the house ever has to clean again; and i have definite qualms with that, being the anal retentive clean roommate. also, i'm not into harsh toxic cleaning agents covering every surface of my living area, but i gave in when clean roomie #2 found this green cleaning service. they do a super job, getting into every tiny nook and cranny and dusting all surfaces possible. our bathrooms are gleaming, and the camouflage kitchen soldiers have been defeated.
Had a great experience with Clean it Green. Sandra brought all her own eco-friendly supplies, even a vaccuum. She is very friendly and did a great job pulling my place together. I would definitely recommend!
Sandra is professional and flexible and, a rarity in this world, very considerate. I am so glad to have found her and her team. She is someone trying to make a difference.
