Clayton shot our wedding and the shots are fantastic; he truly captured the spirit of the day. He's wonderfully positive and enthusiastic about his work, and very well organized. The pressure of a wedding that brings together huge groups of people, often moving in different directions (creatively, as well as, like, walking away...) requires confident management and Clay is masterful.
We we're also amazed that Clayton's pricing was among the most affordable of all the photographers we interviewed, and he had more experience than most. Can't recommend him highly enough! -

We just got our wedding photos back from Clayton and WE LOVE THEM! He was so easy to work with and did great dealing with our nieces and nephews running around. Plus we got married on a yacht in the bay and he did his magic while dealing with waves and wind issues.
He captured both of our families and our friends perfectly! I can't recommend him enough! Thank you Clayton!!! :) -

We used Clayton's services for our new business card. He was extremely professional and definitely brought out our best smiles. He followed up and helped us with the overall design and printing, allowing us to create a very attractive product. We'd highly recommend him for any type of photography work.

Clayton is truly talented! I am a makeup artist that has worked with Clayton on a number of photoshoots. He has an easy going demeanor that makes anyone comfortable in his presence. He captures the moment perfectly or can set a scene with an artist's mind.
When I get married, hopefully one of these days, (haha!) Clayton will be my man without a doubt! -

Clayton shot my wedding, and we have a bunch of great pictures as a result! Clayton is a fabulous photographer and very easy to work with. He had to pursue my wife around the reception area to get her to stand for photos since we didn't allocate time post-ceremony for formal pictures, and he never once got cranky with us. He also got the pictures back in a timely fashion, both proofs and finals. I highly recommend his services.

I received a referral to Clayton from Guerilla Make-overs in SF. Thought I would get someone good, but did not Got someone AMAZING! Clayton spent two days with us, while my children (17 & 7) Got "ROCK STAR" makeovers. From head to toe! He was amazing with both kids and was extreemly professional and out of the Box. He is an amazing photographer and the pictures are over the top. It has taken me over 6 months to finally pick the ones I wanted as they were all so good. Thanks Clayton and look forward to hearing from us in the spring as I have two more kiddo's that want the same experience! Thanks for an AMAZING JOB!

Clayton came to my home to do a surprise photo-shoot of our CAT for my wife's birthday (both she and the cat were, as it turns out, surprised). Clayton came fully equipped for the day, with lights and materials for background and an excellent demeanor for making our cat comfortable and amenable to the process (he turned out to be an incredibly cooperative model, contrary to all expectations). My wife and I are thrilled with the results: one beautiful shot after another of our wonderful cat, frolicking and posing all around our place. Clayton retouched several of our favorite pictures and we now have a series of absolutely gorgeous photographs of our beloved pet that we will treasure forever -- and all for a very reasonable price!

Clayton was the photographer for our wedding and did an absolutely outstanding job!
He took photos of not only all the main events (ceremony, cutting the cake, etc.) but caught so many candid moments of joy and happiness that were part of our own favorite memories of the day! He is so personable that it showed in the pictures - even in the posed shots everyone looked at ease and happy - no stuffy fake smiles!
I absolutely could not have asked for a better photographer for our wonderful, special day!
Do not hesitate or look any further - book this man for your event! Seriously! -

We hired Clayton to photograph our wedding because he had all of the qualities we were looking for. He was responsive, professional, yet easy to around, and he had a great portfolio of pictures in styles we loved. We had an engagement photo shoot and we were thrilled with the pictures he took. It also showed us that he was open to our ideas and we could relax and be ourselves with him. This really put the icing on our cake (even though we had already hired him). The pictures from our wedding turned out beautifully and they translated into amazing layouts for the album. It seems like he has an eye for the final product as he's snapping away. We were very pleased with his work the day of the wedding and all that he did on our album.
I had always heard that you want to hire a photographer you feel like you could be friends with. We certainly found that in Clayton. I highly recommend him!! -

I've used Clayton Mitchell for two photo shoots - one included costumes and whimsy and the other was a reunion shot of good friends in golden gate park. Obviously these were two very different jobs. The first shoot gave me an amazing batch of fun and artistic family photos that are, ten years later, still prominently showcased in my home. The second provided me with some truly precious pieces of friendship memorabilia. I highly, highly recommend him with alacrity.

Look no further...book Clayton for your wedding! My husband and I are really self conscious when it comes to getting our pictures taken, but when Clayton did our engagement sitting he really set us at ease. He was really creative about the setting and full of ideas for poses. It turned out to be fun, actually! And the pictures were great! Then, at the wedding, he got so many great shots and I didn't even know he was there! I even heard the priest compliment him! He took tons of fantastic pictures of our families and friends, and handled it like a professional when my dad pulled an embarrassing stunt. He just kept things moving. Once you get your pictures Clayton is totally willing to fix them up, moving things around, cropping, editing, etc. I would not hesistate to recommend him to all my friends who have events coming up!

It is my pleasure to give Clayton an excellent review for his amazing work on our wedding photography. I still look at the pictures in our beautiful "book-style" wedding album and smile. Clayton doesn't just take great pictures--he captures the feeling of the moment. He is truly talented and in the exact right line of work.
Clayton is a warm, friendly, sweetheart of a person. He was easy to work with, eager to please, and open to integrating all of our ideas and preferences. His narrative style was perfect for capturing the story of our wedding. He easily got the shots we needed and made family feel comfortable without interrupting any of the "action" of the reception.
Clayton's photography was perhaps the best investment that we made for our wedding, and still he was very affordable. I have friends who tried to save money by getting a buddy to shoot their pictures, and they regret not having professional wedding photos. I'm so glad that I will never have that regret. I look forward to having more reasons to book him in the future. -

If you are looking for someone who is exceptionally talented, professional and down to earth then Clayton Mitchell Photography would be your choice. Clayton met with my finance and I before our engagement, he gave us all the things that we asked of him and trust me my list was long :)
Clayton has a great eye for the right moment, what impressed me even more is his respect and kindness to our guests not only did we feel like we were celebrities, so did our family and friends. Thank you Clayton for an unforgettable evening. -

Okay I'll put this all up front. Clayton is a friend.
BUT
My introduction to him and subsequent friendship really came AFTER working with him when we was the photographer for our band so I feel l confident reviewing with the bias of thinking he's a rad person set aside.
Our band was desperately in need of some press photos and we hired Clayton to follow us out to the Marina on a cold afternoon. Aside from the incredible quality of the photos that we continued to use until the band-breakup, Clayton was an incredibly adept director.
Whether he was nit-picking a little detail like which direction my toes were pointing, or arranging us all on pilings for a grand pose, or making us wait ten seconds for that tiny cloud to cover the bright light of the direct sun, nothing was lost on him.
His eye was incredibly adept, and it came through in the photos, which were plentiful and stylistically gorgeous. Also, due to what I have subsequently come to know as his nature, he was incredibly easy to work with: kind, comforting and creative.
Highly recommended. -

Clayton is a great guy and very easy to work with. I used his services for pro headshots for my "business persona" and Clayton was extremely accommodating. Not to mention that he produced excellent work. I know how hard it can be to be an artist and get stuck doing boring stuff like what I hired Clayton to do yet he was always positive and kept things interesting. I highly recommend Clayton!

I have had the privilege of working with Clayton several times now on various photoshoots, weddings, and fashion shows. He's the best photog I've worked with by far. Beyond just the obvious in terms of his artistic abilities, which I would say speaks for itself in his work, he's also one of the nicest and most professional people I've ever worked with. Clayton has boundless energy and a kind spirit and really loves working with all different kinds of people. Nothing phases him at all, or distracts him from his ultimate goal of getting the best photos possible. His creativity is always inspiring, and his experience shows in the final products--a gorgeous blend of fashion paparazzi, photojournalistic style, and beautiful portraiture. Not only that but I always get my copies within a couple of days--no having to hassle him for prints or jpgs at all. I'd recommend him to anyone without hesitation. Clayton always gets his shot.

Clayton is amazing! I needed a good photographer who could produce some photos that would work for career advancement and networking. I'm not a businessy-type, and I wanted something down-to-earth but flattering. I chose Clayton because I was drawn to photos on his website: he seemed to catch people in spontaneous poses that came across as natural but aesthetically attractive and interesting. When I spoke with him on the phone, I knew I wanted to work with him. He's friendly, intelligent, casual, and likable. But nothing prepared me for the actual shoot and results. He spent so much time making sure I had the setting and angles I wanted. He went out of his way to accommodate me. And, I was TRANSFIXED by the array of fantastic photos. I literally had difficulty narrowing down below 40 that I really liked, and I'm not a vain person. He has an eye for color and an eye for character. He is also undeniably an artist but not in an in-your-face dramatic way. Nothing cliche, either. If you're looking for something vivid, real, and elegant, go with Clayton. If you're looking for something else, consider him anyway... he's great to work with! I'll definitely look him up the next time I need photos taken of any kind.
