This is where my fiancé purchased my beautiful engagement ring.

They had so many unique and stunning pieces but I think mine was the absolute most amazing! I get compliments on it all the time. I love it so much that when I'm driving around I hold it out the window and glance at it while it captures and splits the light from the sun. It is so sparkly and has the glamour that only an retro piece can possess.

It has one marquis cut as the center stone, two square cuts and and two little round cuts and is is embellished with some filigree scroll work in the platinum.

Claude was a delight to meet because he has a true passion for estate jewelry.

If you want a one of kind ring for your one-and-only, be sure to visit Claude.

If you want a gorgeous, one of kind engagement ring, you have to go to Claude. There's nothing more to say about Claude and Jennifer that hasn't been said in the previous reviews. They have an amazing selection of curated jewelry. Each piece is unique and has a story to tell.

Claude was my first stop in engagement ring shopping and after going to numerous places all over the city, his rings were definitely the best (in price and selection). My fiance ended up getting my ring from him. A victorian ring that's over 100 years old, hand engraved gold band with a 1 carat diamond.

Claude and Jennifer are also extremely wonderful and nice people. If you purchase a ring from them, they will let you borrow any of their pieces for your wedding!

Man...where do I start with Claude and Jennifer?  Well let's just start out saying that my now (!!!) fiancé and I got our ring with them.  Enough could be said there.  But the reasons why must be stated...

    1. The selection - was just beautiful.  Each peace was unique and special and the quality of each piece (esp. the stones) were magnificent.  Claude has a very keen eye!

    2. His knowledge - he knew every single detail about each and every piece. I know you may read this and think, duh...but you'd be surprised at how some jewelers don't really know what they are selling.  Because Claude specializes in antique pieces his knowledge is quite vast.

    3. customer service - THIS WAS HUGE.  HUGE HUGE HUGE.  He literally spent hours with us.  He did not rush or make us feel bad.  Esp. since we stayed an hour past closing. He educated us to gems and to the design history about each piece.  Also, he and his wife Jennifer felt like friends and were really fun.  Not that this would ultimately sway us, but for something so personal like an engagement ring, wouldn't you want to buy it form people who felt like friends and family??  It made the whole experience that much more special.  Most importantly though, we felt like he was being pretty upfront and was negotiating quite fairly.  Finally, the last thing I have to note in customer service was that after stopping by the first time he and Jen went on vacation.  While on vacation he actually answered a few email we sent  for his arrival back in the office. He did so quite promptly and with a smile, and then upon return followed up with what he said he'd do.  How many people make themselves available like that?  No one that I know of. You add all of the above up and we almost would have waited until he found the right ring just to work with him.  But THANK GOD we didn't have to!

I found the ring of my dreams...I am not overstating this point either.  We looked at many of them, and never once did we see one quite like this. It is truly one of a kind.

As a side note,  we came by Claude from a recommendation from one of my best friends.  Her husband went to Claude to buy a Cartier "love" bracelet.  Nate said Claude went to the ends to search and find exactly what my good friend wanted.  When she decided she wanted a different metal, Claude again went back and found the right one.  Nate said he was amazing.  It shows that it's not about budget, it's about integrity...

Thank you Claude and Jen for making this whole experience better than I could have ever hoped.   xo
p.s. We are going to be getting our wedding bands through Claude as well.  He has an amazing selection of these as well.

Knowing I probably wanted an Edwardian or Art Deco engagement ring -- and a good experience buying one -- I did some homework and narrowed our initial expedition to Claude Morady and one other LA jeweler.

That turned out to be our only expedition. And Claude and his wife Jennifer turned out to be the only jewelers my boyfriend and I saw. It certainly didn't feel like we were in their studio for at least two hours, but the parking meter* doesn't lie**. We felt completely comfortable the entire time--unrushed, free to ask questions, to talk with each other, or to just stare dumbly at the Moradys' fabulously edited collection.

And then, probably at about 2h15min into the visit, we decided to buy one of the rings. And then we decided to buy a 1930s infinity band to go with it. It was all tremendously exciting, and my only regret was that I had to leave the rings behind to be sized.

That was two weeks ago. In the interim, I started to get nervous. Had we made a rather hasty decision, buying not one but *two* rings on our first visit to the only place we looked?

Maybe it was hasty, but it was absolutely the right decision. My rings came today and are just stunning. Stunning! I can't believe I have to turn them over, even temporarily, to my wonderful boyfriend so he can propose "properly."

The process of purchasing the rings was also wholly satisfying. I can't overstate how genuine and pleasant Claude and Jennifer are, or how important I find that aspect of what is otherwise reduced to merely a transaction. It feels good to be able to say I love my rings and I love the place we got them from. I know not everyone is that lucky, but you will be with the Moradys.

From a Mensch in name to two mensches in spirit, thank you.

    * Call ahead to get the details on free or validated parking while visiting, which *is* available. We were just so beat from the drive up from San Diego that we pulled into the first lot we saw.

** Actually, LA parking meters lie. all. the. time. One of my great civic victories was having a meter ticket reversed last year. But this was Beverly Hills, which seems to run a tight-but-fair ship meter wise, and we managed to avoid ticketing.

After i was turned away from a NYC jeweler because the job was not big enough i was hesitant to call a Beverly Hills jeweler.

I was only looking for a setting since my grandmother had left a diamond for me.

Claude welcomed me with a handshake and a smile. He made my modest purchase of an antique setting important to the both of us.

It took only ten minutes before we found the perfect setting for what Claude considered a perfect diamond.

24 hours later the ring is stunning and ready for pickup. Looking forward to seeing Claude and Jennifer for special occasions for a long time to come.

When my boyfriend and I started looking for an engagement ring, we decided to go the vintage route to avoid the whole conflict diamond issue (and help recycle!!).

We visited several antique/estate jewelry places around LA, but decided to go for Claude Morady since it was the best experience and the best selection.

Claude is a lover of beautiful, detailed antique jewelry and has a special selection of brilliant cut diamond antique rings from the 1930's and 40's. I found THE RING nestled in his velvet box and I couldn't have been more excited!

He is so genuine, welcoming, nice, comfortable and basically everything that a jewelry salesman is not: he let my bf and I alone to choose our favorite rings so there was really no pressure (except for the kind I was putting on my bf...hahaha), allowed us to view the rings in different lights and gave us some good restaurant recommendations (who needs yelp anymore?).

Price wise, I felt that Claude gave us fair numbers and that with his support, we were getting a better deal than at a large chain jewelry store.

Compared to the other places we visited, where they either had a mass selection of vintage jewelry with little personality, or a small selection with little knowledge or lower quality, Claude Morady was an awesome find for us.

Definitely email or call him up if you're looking for vintage engagement rings, antique jewelry or even antique jewelry repairs.

PS. He also gave us a bag of chocolates to celebrate our new ring. THAT IS SO AWESOME, cause not only did I get a nice diamond, but I ALSO GOT CHOCOLATE. Nom nom nom.

If you are shopping for an antique engagement ring, you need look no further than Claude Morady Estate Jewelry.

In my search for a ring I visited a number of jewelry shops. From large to small; fancy and simple. To be honest, all of these shops made me feel uncomfortable. I did not feel any trust or confidence that my best interests were being taken into account. There was usually a hard sell, an up-sell or just an overall uneasy feeling. I would eventually leave the shops confused and unsure.

As my search progressed I eventually decided that I wanted to buy an antique engagement ring. There's something elegant, yet humble, about antique rings. They are beautiful, yet are not showy. The settings are low profile, yet feature the center stone perfectly.

There are many shops that carry "antique style" rings that are new. But, if you are truly looking for an antique ring, you're best off buying an actual antique from somebody who specialized in antiques (makes sense, right?)

I contacted Claude and set up an appointment time. His office/showroom is in a small office building in Beverly Hills.

Claude greeted me with a warm smile and hand shake. He offered me something to drink and we sat down at his desk. Before there was even a ring placed on the table, Claude and I talked for at least 20 minutes. I told him a little bit about myself, my girlfriend, our life, what we do professionally, what I was looking for in a ring. I learned a little bit about Claude and how he finds his merchandise and his business philosophy.

We discussed budget, and based on my description of what I was looking for, Claude brought out a selection of rings. There were a number of rings that were in budget and of the style I had pictured in my mind. He took his time to talk about each piece. What era it came from, the metal, the setting, the stone, the side-stones, everything. There was no pressure, no sales pitch at all, actually. More a conversation about the beauty of the rings and their history. Claude can educate you about his selection of rings without it feeling like a lecture on the 4-Cs.

Now, I must tell you that my budget was very humble. Claude never once tried to talk me into something he knew I couldn't afford. Nor did he brush me aside because I wasn't a big spender. He totally respected my budget and helped me work within it.

Soon I found an incredibly beautiful ring that I knew was the right one.

While I was waiting to pick up the ring a few days later, Claude adjusted the prongs to make the ring look even more amazing and he informed me that he would resize the ring at no charge if needed.

I brought my now fiance into the shop a few days later. She loved the ring.

I couldn't be happier with the entire experience working with Claude Morady, he is a class act all the way.

Claude is a classy and friendly guy, one who is happy to be in the business he's in and happy for the couple who come in to check out what he has to offer, and I'm sure he's just as happy for the ones who don't buy something from him. I wouldn't know, since my wife and I bought her engagement ring from him, and followed that up a few months later by purchasing our wedding bands from him as well.

Over the few months leading up to the wedding, we visited Claude half a dozen times for the purchases and resizings, which we always enjoyed for the hospitality and friendliness as much as anything. And in the end, my wife was offered the opportunity to borrow jewelry for our wedding, which was an opportunity she took advantage of without hesitation. And every time we visited Claude and his wife Jennifer, they were friendly, quite easy-going, and in an exceptionally good mood.

And as far as the shopping experience, there was zero pressure. You walk into the office, you sit down at the desk with Claude, and he brings out the type of jewelry you're seeking and lets you look them over without rushing you or trying to lead you into acquiring a specific piece. I think we were quite lucky in that during our ring shopping, we encountered mostly rather friendly folks, but Claude and Jennifer were the tops! I also enjoyed our conversations about the Dodgers and U2, but if you aren't a fan of either, maybe he'll have something to say about the Angels and R.E.M.  Recommended without hesitation.

My fiance and I got my engagement ring here.
The whole experience was awesome and everyone was very friendly and I love my ring! They have a really nice selection.

I had to have my ring re-sized around the time that the Antiquarius had caught fire. There was a slight delay in getting my ring back to me but they were so nice and apologetic. The assistant girl (I can't remember her name!) was really accommodating and dropped my ring off at my house since I couldn't get down there during their hours.

There is no one better.  For estate jewelry, honestly, don't bother going anywhere else.  Claude's rings are beautiful, all his jewelry is beautiful, his prices are completely reasonable for the quality he provides.  What's more, Claude is a genuinely good person.  One may even say a "mensche."

I ended up coming to Claude once with my mother to look for a wedding ring, then again with my fiance to really pick them out.  To wow me with diamonds is not such a feat, but my fiance is a suspicious and slow buyer.  We were in the elevator on our way up to the 3rd floor when he said, "Don't pressure me.  I'm not sure I want to buy rings today."  But after 30 minutes with Claude, even he was convinced.

Why waste your time?  Go to Claude.  You won't be sorry.

Claude Morady is awesome. He and his wife are so friendly and helpful!

We came here looking for an engagement ring. Although I did not purchase anything from Claude, I fell in love with an authentic 1920s engagement ring. He was very helpful.

I *love* antiques, but my fiance wanted to purchase a new ring. We ended up purchasing from somewhere else, but I highly recommend Claude!

I had a fantastic experience here! Claude and Jennifer are great people. They're knowledgeable, kind, honest, and genuine. I came in to purchase an engagement ring, but had no idea what I was really doing. Claude and Jennifer were patient and accommodating as they walked me through the process.

Being that they are located in Beverly Hills, I was nervous I would be laughed out of the store once they heard how much i had to spend, but that was not the case. I imagine Claude and Jennifer treat all there customers this way; with respect, integrity, and a true passion for what they do.

I didn't feel pressure to make any purchases (although I did buy a fantastic ring).  Let me again emphasize that Claude and Jennifer are great people. We ended up having a great conversation about traveling and ethnic food through the course of the transaction, which I was not expecting but was thoroughly enjoyed.

We love Claude and his wife Jennifer to death.  They are the most accommodating, passionate and personable jewelers, and are wonderful people.  We look forward to visiting Claude Morady Estate Jewelry when we are in the Beverly Hills area.  They have the most beautiful selection and we receive warm, personal service where we are treated like family.

My wife and I are so happy with her stunning art deco engagement ring that we returned and purchased a beautifully complementing wedding band with diamonds all around.  We love both rings and admire their beauty and sparkle every day.  We are grateful that we found Claude on Yelp - he is one of a kind!

Claude exceeded all our expectations and helped make our wedding day extra special!  THANK YOU and happy new year!!

We heard about Claude and his wife, Jennifer, through a friend who recently purchased their wedding bands there. My friend said: "If you want interesting jewelry at a decent price from people who make the experience really great, then go visit Claude and Jennifer."  And she was absolutely right! We purchased my wedding band -- a 1930s simple band with teeny-tiny diamonds -- and I just couldn't be more thrilled. There was never any pressure and they really encouraged me to take my time and do what feels best. And they followed up on everything they said they would. Not to mention they allowed me to borrow jewelry for my wedding (perhaps this is a standard practice?)... But there's a lot that goes into letting me borrow a 6-karat bracelet and matching earrings! They let me look at several trays of jewelry and took a personal interest in our wedding. We were glad to exchange wedding stories, too, which just makes the experience so pleasant. Again, you're going to get very personal service here. It's family owned / run and you, the customer, benefits from this sort of small business. We're excited to have formed a relationship with a jeweler here in LA. We look forward to future purchases!

I just bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiancee!) from Claude and it was honestly the best, easiest, most unique jewelry-shopping experience I ever could have imagined.  Don't be put off if you find the address and it's an office building.  We were a little confused at first, but it turned out to be a great thing, because you literally get to sit down at Claude's desk and he personally shows you the great variety of jewelry that he has to offer.  It feels less like jewelry shopping in a store and more like perusing a friend or neighbor's jewelry collection.  We ended up with a really unique, beautiful antique ring at a very reasonable price.  We'll be back for our wedding bands!
p.s. - There is 2 hour free parking at a garage 1 block East on Brighton Way if you enter before 6.

UPDATE 6/13/09 - We went back to Claude for our wedding bands and the experience again was first-rate.  Claude made it very easy and even offered to fine-tune the fittings for free. Go to Claude!

Buying my fiancee's engagement ring with Claude was a great experience. He was so friendly, helpful and also very very patient. I was in there for about two hours after I had already narrowed it down to two rings and he didn't rush me at all.

The rings (and all the jewelry) are so gorgeous. My fiancee loves vintage jewelry and he has the best collection I've seen. I loved the experience so much we ended up going back to buy her wedding band there too.

My fiance and I recently purchased our wedding rings from Claude and his lovely wife Jennifer.  Not only did we get beautiful, unique rings, but I feel like they come with amazing energy attached to them.  Claude and Jennifer are the most warm, welcoming, loving people.  They were accommodating from the moment we walked in.  When I was deciding between two (awesome, and very reasonably priced) rings, they offered to let me borrow the pieces to bring home to my fiance who was at work.  They even offered to let me borrow some of their AMAZING jewelry for my wedding day.  They went above and beyond in every possible way.

We know that the rings we'll be wearing everyday for the rest of our lives came from people who care about us, and about each other - not some pushy wholesaler downtown.  Their collection is as unique and special as they are.  I picked out a gorgeous vintage 1920's diamond eternity band.  It is SO beautiful and was far more reasonably priced than my friends have paid for their everyday, run-of-the-mill eternity bands.

I cannot recommend this place enough- their engagement rings are drop dead gorgeous (we didn't know about Claude when my fiance picked out my ring, otherwise we would have beelined to him- the engagement ring collection is amazing), the bracelets, earrings, necklaces - all ridiculously unique and stunning pieces.

Everything is so impersonal these days, it's rare to walk into a place once and immediately know that you'll be coming back for years, but that's what it was like when we went to Claude & Jennifer.  I just know my fiance will not have to struggle to figure out where to go when he wants to get me a special anniversary gift in the years to come.

I came across Claude Morady Estate Jewelry when my now fiance suggested that we start looking for engagement rings.  Since I prefer a more vintage look in jewelry, I knew estate jewelers in Beverly Hills (near our home) was probably the best place to start.    I knew after I called and spoke with Claude that he would be great to work with.

I like that his store doesn't have a regular store front its placed in a beautiful old building in the heart of BH.  I LOVED that we didn't have to deal with pushy annoying sales people who probably knew less about jewelry than I do.  I really wanted something unique - and I really wanted my talented artist boyfriend to help design it.  Lastly, I knew I  wanted to get vintage stones, or at least look at some stones that had a history. (and Claude was nice enough to talk to me about the conflict diamonds issue because that is something that concerns me.)

After going to see Claude once, I left the ring business up to my fiance.  Now have a beautiful ring that he and Claude put together for me!!!  I had to have the ring sized- and just got it back from doing so.  The ring fits great and Claude and his wife, were so lovely and warm to work with.  They made this whole process very smooth.  ( and very quick on the sizing turn around time.  I only had to be with out my ring for 3 days!!  )  I will recommend them to anyone.

    Thank you Claude and Jennifer!

My fiance and I found Claude through Yelp, and the other reviewers weren't wrong. He is a helpful, kind and friendly man with an impeccable selection of rings. The sole critique I can offer is that Claude showed me rings outside of the budget my fiance gave when he made our appointment. But in the end, we found a ring that I couldn't be happier with - and fit within the budget. A wonderful experience.

I cannot say enough good things about Claude.  After moving to LA from SF and leaving behind my go-to jewler, I was looking for the perfect, thoughful gift for my wife's birthday and at a loss as to where to start looking.  I came across Clause via Yelp! I told claude what i was looking for and he brought out an amzing selection of 1930s bracelets. He was all service and no pressure as i hummed and hawed on which one to chose - I will certainly be a repeat customer. .... Claude, she LOVED the bracelet. THX!

My fiance and i just got our wedding bands and my engagement ring from Claude Morady.  I LOVE THIS PLACE!  We love our rings, they are from the 1930s.  When we had my engagement ring appraised we found that the amount we paid was well within the range the appraiser gave us.  We found the owner and the associate working there to be friendly, warm, and family oriented.  I will go back to them any time I plan to purchase any jewelry.  We found parking every time we went there.  They are not open on Sundays but they are open almost all day Saturday.  I cannot express how wonderfully kind they are and how much we love our rings!  They are so unique!

We went back to Claude to get our wedding bands and he was so great and honest.  After speaking for a while he recommended I wear my engagement ring by itself, no wedding band necessary.  Which means no additional $$ to Claude, but he was right.  it looks perfect as it is.  We did buy my husbands band there and he love is.  My husband knew exactly what he what he didn't want.  Oh that makes it so easy to shop!! But Claude and Jennifer came through like champs and found him a great ring.  (Good price too, since we were putting all our $$ into the wedding.)

Apparently when you buy a ring from Claude you are also getting a relationship. You are getting a friend who will fix your ring and lend you jewelry. This is a man who knows good vintage jewels and how to take care of them. Which is pretty great. Best of all what he has is of a timeless quality. The ring he sold my dear is old, but the only way one would guess that is because it is so beautifully wrought. Claude said the people who know how to make rings like this died a long time ago. In an era of new and flashy and large its nice to know there are still jewelers out there. People who care about what they are selling you and know it intimately.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Claude to pick out her engagement ring and it was an AMAZING experience. Not only did we get a beautiful one-of-a-kind ring, but Claude was so incredibly nice and helpful that the whole experience was 100% perfect. He took great care of us and we will remember him forever.

For those looking for vintage jewelry you can't go wrong with Claude!

Claude is amazing!  From the very beginning of the experience we could not have been more pleased.  I was dubious at first, using Yelp as a tool to find a jeweler to not only size my great-grandmother's engagement ring, but look at vintage 30's bands.  I could not have been more wrong - Claude is not only professional, but his welcoming personality, great taste and willingness to treat every person that walks into his office with attention no matter if you spend $500 or $50,000 is fantastic.  Before we even looked at rings or discussed sizing my engagement ring Claude took the time to get to know my partner and I.  After looking at my ring, he immediately pulled a few selections that all matched beautifully with my ring and taste.  Not only was this experience pleasant and welcoming, Claude also engaged in a little "subterfuge" when my partner later surprised me in Hawaii with my refitted ring on the beach.  He also replied at 12am to a text with congratulations after my partner let him know the plan was a success!  We will be back for our wedding bands, and I am sure many more pieces in the future.  I would recommend Claude without any hesitation.

This review is way overdue. I should start by saying that my husband and I started to look for engagement ring ideas back when Claude and Jennifer were still in the Antiquarius building. We were in the beginning stages of thinking about rings. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but after meeting Claude, I knew for sure that he was the jeweler for us! He was warm, charming, helpful, kind (you can keep filling in the blanks with positive descriptors here!) Our budget was modest. Claude worked with us and we never felt bad about our price point. Almost a year later, we returned. I described what I wanted and he brought out the most perfect ring that met every expectation I could have ever dreamed of. He worked with my husband on the price. We returned for my wedding ring. Jennifer suggested a few rings and we went with the first one she pulled out to show us. Two years have passed since my engagement and one year since my wedding. I still have to do a double take each time I see my ring because I think it is the most beautiful piece of jewelry I have ever seen! I constantly get compliments on it.

Claude and Jennifer not only are fantastic jewelers, they are wonderful people. I have run into them in public  twice since our wedding. They remembered both my husband and my names and couldn't have been warmer. If you are looking for a vintage piece, or even if you are just looking for a ring in general, please at least go visit them. You will not be disappointed. If I could give them a hundred stars, I would.

I came to Claude for a simple resizing, cleaning, and appraisal of a family heirloom ring.  He was very friendly both over the phone and in person, the work was done faster than he had initially promised, and the price was very reasonable.  He also seemed genuinely interested in looking at the ring I brought in, and gave me a mini lesson on what made it unique.  He was also more than happy to show me a few pieces from his fabulous stock of estate jewelry.  Everything in the store was gorgeous, in great condition, and reasonably priced compared to what I've seen at other jewelers.  I would absolutely go back to Claude to purchase jewelry, or for repairs.  It's hard to find someone who can do a good job of repairing the delicate work on some antique pieces, but I think Claude would be able to handle it.  I only wish I could afford to shop here more often, because Claude is one of the friendliest, most honest jewelers I've dealt with in a while.

Claude is amazing.  He is absolutely the sweetest jeweler I have ever met.  I went in there with a very sentimental ring that had snapped and he charged me a very fair price and was extremely sweet.  He knows hows much jewelry can mean to people.  He's great and I highly recommend him!

Claude and his wife, Jennifer, run the warmest and most beautiful estate jeweler in town. Every time you go to their simple office, you are greeted like family. As they start pulling trays out of their vault... the fun begins! They have the most unique and exceptional pieces around. Claude is an amazing buyer and knows so much about all of his gems. This is the perfect place to go if you know exactly what you want... or if you have no idea what you want but know you want something gorgeous. They even make husbands and boyfriends feel good about spending all of that $$$!!!!!
